At least 10 years aged in Oak
Cask Strength or Controlled ABV
Stated as Harvest Year
Bottled Date
AGING
First 1-3 years in new oak to draw out vanillin from wood then transfer to slightly used cask
IN
FRENCH
Armagnac is the only spirit that can be aged in wooden up until 50 years. However, it’s up to Chai Master to determine if its peak is reached
OAK
CASK
Cask toasting is also a technique widely utilized
Spirit in different cask even from the same vintage can varied in tasting profile
ARMAGNAC
No climate control needed. Distilled spirits without additive can be stored indefinitely just no exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat.
STORING
SUGGEST IONS
Store only in upright position. This is not wine, the solvent property of high ABV spirit will draw out undesirable tastes and other substance from the cork. This would spoil the Armagnac. If the cork broke, just fine-strain it to get all the cork out and replace the cork.
USEFUL TIPS
I love my Armagnac a bit chilled during hot whether, so leave your favorite bottle in the fridge and once pour, warm the glass up in your palms the subtle warmth will help released the complexity of flavor and flagrance.
ARMAGNAC
TULIP GLASS
Round bottom glass with tapered chimney is best for guiding aroma to your senses and make drinking Armagnac sensory rich Traditional and oversized snifter are cool to look at but did ver y little to enhance the sensor y. Champagne flute can also be use. This is savoring spirit. The right tools to use would be rewarded with a better drinking experience.
SER VING
Serving size 30ml for single
SUGGEST IONS
For old vintage and old blends – serving neat is the best option. Dilution with ice or water will diminish the spirit complexity and sacrificed the multilayer of nuance and subtle taste profile
For young Armagnac aged below 15 years, can be served in single malt fashion. Neat or on the rock * W E D O H A V E R E C O M M E N D AT I O N S FOR CLIENTS WHO CAN’ T DRINK WITHOUT ADDING ICE
Although the dilution might forgo all nice goodies and left only bitterness in some product.
ARMAGNAC
DRINKING
SUGGEST IONS
Appreciating the bouquet is the first critical step in the enjoyment of this most beguiling libation, but please don’t go sticking your nose right in the glass and inhaling deeply. All you’ll do is singe your nasal passages with powerful alcohol esters. Instead, hold the glass at chest level and let the delicate fragrances waft up. In a minute or so, your senses will be luxuriating in a cloud of vanilla, toffee, nougat, pepper, rose and chocolate. Now bring it a little closer, maybe to chin level, and you’ll begin to see what Armagnac is all about.
