Bramley Apple – now into stored fruit, in general the fruit was cleared early as the majority wasn’t suitable for extended shelf life, therefore stock is now in short supply and more expensive Storms in Spain causing havoc with fresh produce availability and quality on these lines - courgette, aubergine, cucumber, Iceberg lettuce & celery prices up on Cues/Courgette & Aubergine particularly Potatoes – stored product under pressure due to constant wet weather in the UK, baking and chipping varieties most effected with prices creeping up Exotic legumes – mange tout, sugar snap – in short supply from Kenya, some Egyptian available to lessen impact, but greener and courser – prices up across these imports
Purple Sprouting Broccoli – now in good condition, bright and plenty of colour Rainbow Chard – in stock from Canara Farm Bunched Radish Rooster Chipping Potatoes
Potatoes – constant wet weather over last 3 months is now causing serious concern – stored product under pressure due to constant wet weather in the UK, baking and chipping varieties most effected Berries – current high prices from Spain, this should ease as Dutch and Belgium are introduced Baking Potatoes & Graded Chippers– further price increases are imminent as stored crops are measured/controlled to enable supply till new crops later in the year

Fresh Cherry – Chilean now in stock Mango – large fruit at good price in stock Russet – at an end, some tail end stored fruit may re appear but in general is finished Blood Orange and Seville Marmalade oranges - in stock, good quality and selling well Rhubarb – Class 1 UK forced rhubarb in stock – demand driving price up Plums – now South African fruit, good size and flavour if left to ripen
Bulk catering carrots, parsnips and swede Local Cauli Savoy, Spring Green and January King cabbages Kiwi and pomegranate good value Un-ripened Avocado & Mango – ripen in the kitchen - much cheaper pricing Blueberries Apples – Braeburn best value Pears – Conference Pear Small lemons rather than the large – better value although less yield Seasonal Beets including Candy and Golden Tri-colour Peppers for best value Cornish Wild Mush mix and Devon Forest Fungi mixed mushrooms Finebean – best exotic beans – although import prices have gone up a little Leeks and Imported Calabrese are a good value greens Tomatoes – cherry punnets and the large vine toms are best for value Onion – large and English medium are good value Local Sagitta Potatoes – will chip Duchy Fries – our recommended local graded chipper Local Cabbages - Pointed cabbage & Savoy
Melons – galia and small orange flesh currently best value/watermelon pricing has gone up Green grape – red grapes are better value Yellow Grapefruit – use pink/red for better value Rhubarb – UK Forced now starting but pricey Berries – winter availability and storms in Europe sending prices up – Blueberries best value Avocado – RTE prices remain higher – we do have standard un-ripened on stock which are cheaper Calabrese – imported now so prices up compared to local crops Cherry on Vine Toms – prices are up – for value use the standard punnets Plum Tomatoes/Vine – prices up on Spanish Imports Mango RTU – use cheaper un-ripened fruit for value – needs a few days in kitchen to ripen Red Chicory – use yellow/white for better value although red are cheaper than they can be
