INTRODUC TION To grow is to learn. To learn is to acknowledge, and to acknowledge is to discover. Improving and becoming a better person has never and will never be direct. It is a process of discovering yourself, acknowledging experiences, learning from the past, and growing to be better than your past. However, sometimes it is also important to consider other factors when growing as a person. For instance, have you ever considered how God feels about your growth? Have you thanked him? Maybe we could learn more from him? In this book, our group aims to reflect from the Gospel not only as a way to become better people, but to grow closer to God. To understand his message and what exactly is his plan for us.

“Your soul needs time for solitude and self-reflection. In order to love, lead, heal, and create, you must nourish yourself first.” - Louise Hay

NS FOR REFLECTIO

THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER, 2022

September 1 Luke 5:1-11 Today’s Gospel tells us of what happened to the fishermen and Jesus. At first, they were hesitant to follow Him, they did not believe Him because they had a hard time catching fish. Later on, they were astonished, that true enough when they followed Him they were able to catch many fish. The message of today’s Gospel is that sometimes we follow what we think is right, and don’t take time to listen to God’s word. It is where conflicts happen because we follow our own understanding and insists on our own opinions and beliefs. Today’s Gospel reminds us that we should be good followers and be obedient with God’s word because He is Our Father, and He always knows what's best for us.

In my life, I have experienced doing things on my own, deciding what I think is best for me and ignoring the warnings of my parents. In the end, I commit sin and mistakes and wrong decisions. Through this experience, I have learned, that as children of God we should be obedient to His words, we should not question Him because He knows what's the best for us. We should always be humble enough to follow His Will for us, and hold on to our faith that He will guide us through the right path.

AZARCON

AZARCON

September 1 Luke 5:1-11

From this experience, Jesus is asking me to surrender in Him and have full faith in Him. I should not doubt His Holy plan for my life.

I can be a better person at home, I my community and in my country when I do things in accordance to God’s will. If I obey His words, there will be peace because I am being an obedient child. It takes a lot to be humble to listen to Our Father. The values that we can learn from #1 and # 2 is obedience and faith. Following God and believing in Him will make us better children of God and followers. Our life will be at peace knowing we are doing what is right at all times because we are following His instructions.

Prayer for the Day: Almighty Father, You are the Most High, we praise and glorify you for all Your goodness and love. We thank You for always guiding us and making sure that we are protected every step of the ways. We ask for forgiveness for all our sins, for the times we decide on our own and do not seek your guidance. Please continue to bless and guide us in making our decisions. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen!

Luke 5: 33-39

People such as the Scribes and Pharisees were criticizing Jesus Christ for not fasting, unlike the disciples of John the Baptist. So they asked Jesus for an explanation. In the other hand Jesus use this as an opportunity to teach the Scribes and Pharisees about his mission. Jesus appears as the bridegroom who unites us to the Father, the Lord. While he was in the company of His disciples, there was no need to fast because they are with Him. Like in a real wedding, the bride and the groom begin a new life of togetherness. Jesus came to give us new life as children of God. We shall now leave our old traditions aside and start a new journey with Jesus as our guide. Shed our old mindset in order to imbibe the new teachings of our Lord. It is never an easy task, but the Holy Spirit will be present to renew us through prayer and fasting.

Luke 5: 33-39

In the gospel, Pharisees criticize Jesus for not being ascetic enough. For them, Jesus and his disciples should fast and pray more like them. Fasting, along with prayer and almsgiving, was one of the three most important religious duties. However, Jesus provided them with a clear explanation. Such as new and old wineskins. Before, wine was stored in wineskins rather than bottles. The new wine that had been poured into the skins was still fermenting. The gases exerted provided enough pressure to make new wine skins elastic, but old wine skins easily burst due to their hardness. Just as there is a proper place and time for fasting and feasting, there is a proper place for both old and new wine. We all have our own standards about what is best and how others should behave. It's so easy to criticize and judge others based on what we see and observe. Jesus teaches us not to focus on the external aspect of fasting but on its essence, which is to discipline our body and soul in order to become much closer to Christ. While we believe that fasting is an important religious practice, we also recognize that it is not the only way to develop a personal relationship with Christ. The gospel for today encouraged SAN BEDA UNIVERSITY – RIZAL SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, us, to be open to new ways of doing things. And to focus on why it is being done rather than what is being done.

Prayer for the Day: Thank You, Heavenly Father, for teaching us how to do things the right way. Continue to fill us with Your Holy Spirit, so that we will be careful not to jump to our own conclusions. Unlike the Pharisees in the gospel, help us to seek You earnestly through prayer and fasting, so that we may turn away from sin and grow closer to You. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your son, who lives and reigns with You forever and ever. Amen.

CLARIZA

Luke 6:1-5 On a religious day, Jesus and His disciples were going through a field of grain and His disciples were eating some grain. Some Pharisees said that it was unlawful, but Jesus said that offering and sharing are more important than following orders. The message that we can get from the gospel is that we should learn to be generous. We should learn to offer help to those who are in need, since we were gifted with shelter and other necessities, we must learn how to give to others. No matter how much help you offered or gave, it will still be a blessing for them. One experience that I can remember is that I was with my grandmother, and we came across a beggar, and we gave some money to him. We couldn’t offer more help than that since we had some important matters to attend to.

The Lord is asking me to be kind and hopeful to what I do. He is also telling me to pray and be faithful no matter how hard these times may be. Living up to prayer and work can make me a better person through influence of kindness and positivity to my friends and family, including the community. The values that we can learn from the gospel are hospitality and community. Through hospitality, we could help people or animals that needs basic necessities. Through community, we can influence people to do the same act of kindness we do and we were also able to help each other out.

Prayer for the Day: Lord, we adore and glorify You. I ask You to guide me into everything that I do in my daily life, I also ask for Your forgiveness and hope that I won’t repeat the same mistake or sin that I have committed. I thank You for all the blessings that You have given to us. Amen.

CONTI

Luke 14: 25-33

The Gospel tells us that to be Jesus’ Disciple, we must not hate our parents, spouses, children and siblings. Additionally, we must carry own cross to become Jesus’ Disciple. In my own understanding, I believe that the gospel is on the nose. That is to say, literal in the sense that we must love our relatives to become his disciple. But to carry one’s cross is to carry our own burdens, and stand by them to become Jesus’ disciple. One part really spoke to me. “Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.” Everyone of us has our own “cross” to carry, which to me, is a representation of our struggles. I believe that is my duty as a student and son to carry my own burdens. Personally, as a student, I have a hard time keeping up with my academics. But I believe what God wants me to realize is that as long as I keep my performance, all my efforts will pay off.

I believe that this is his calling for me to stop doing actions that stop me from being the best version of myself. Through this gospel reflection, I can say that by carrying and standing by my burdens, I can learn from these burdens and take the lessons to be someone better.

Luke 14: 25-33

Prayer for the Day: Lord I praise and glorify Your most holy name. I thank You for giving me an opportunity to see another day, and another opportunity to improve myself. I thank You as well for helping and guiding me through my mistakes, and on how I should manage through them. I ask for forgiveness for all the mistakes I have done, and for all the actions that stop me from being closer to You. With that, I pray once more for Your guidance in my life, in my thoughts, actions and words. I also ask that You do the same for my friends and family. I pray for more blessings, and safety over my family, and for You to never leave our side. This I ask in Your most holy name, amen.

There are a variety of ways I could be better. For instance, in my home, whenever I make a mistake in doing chores, I ought to correct them immediately. Or in school, I mustn’t give in to cheating in quizzes. To carry my own cross is to accept my mistakes and try to be better next time. I believe that that the gospel imparts sincerity and honesty within us all. We shouldn’t and couldn’t cheat our way into heaven. To enter heaven and become Jesus’ disciple is to be genuine in our thoughts and words. That’s why I believe we have to be sincere in our actions and honest with our words. Finally, to carry our own cross is to “see something all the way through.” To ensure that we don’t make mistakes and if we do, we must see it through. In Filipino, we often know this saying as “paninindigan natin ang aksyon natin.”

DEL ROSARIO

Luke 6: 6-11

We should always care for other people not just ourselves. Helping will do us good and the place we are in even though it will anger some people. Saving lives rather than throwing them away is not a choice to go to, we should not let evil win. Today’s gospel reflection is about the disapproval of the people who judges Jesus. We have a choice to do good and bad deeds. Will we let our bad side win and commit to evil deed. When I was a kid we were at a party and this group of kids keeps on targeting the poor child. I went on to help the poor child on his problem and told the other kids to back off. They didn’t like what I did but I know I did the right thing on helping. We can be good people in our daily lives and apply this to our minds and heart. To follow this kind of mindset in every activity we have to choose good over bad deeds. I can be a better person by being kind in every setting I go with. To choose good actions and words for other people around me. The values we can learn from this is to not only think of ourselves but also of other people affected. We have moral values that we should act upon what we think is ethical

Prayer for the Day: Dear Lord, we long for Your divine power holy God. We are more than sorry for our lack of attention to other people we should have taken care of. As we open our hearts we thank You for the gifts and mercy You give us. I pray for You to guide me and the people that need Your healing.

Luke 6:12-19 Through the beginning- through Adam and Eve, we continue to multiply. The people continue to increase in number thus, when observed and simply searched in the internet, one might be shocked on the number of people there is in a particular country or, generally, on earth. In connection with the Gospel reading, it states that even though there is an abundant amount of people all over the world, He sees and understands us individually and as a whole from every perspective and angle it may be. Together with everyone on earth, no matter the age, gender and etc., God chose us to be His children- His beloved sons and daughters. In addition, it shows that He is a powerful and loving father, and that He is here for me, for you and for us- through Himself and His instruments, He will heal, care and love each and every one of us.

Daily, I am reminded of Him and His teachings; In simple and relaxing days, time with my daily dose of BTS and reading, to new experiences of emotionally draining days, time wherein tears shed from the day before, shows up the following day as puffed eyes, I am reminded that He is here- will always be here by my side. May those reminders be in different forms, like my loved ones, family and friends, to remind me of their presence, love and worry for me, like BTS to remind me to love and appreciate myself, and like every moment, to remind me of appreciating life and its value. In every hour, every minute and every second, I know that He was there for me and will continue to be, no matter the situation.

September 6

ELFAN

Luke 6:12-19

Through the gospel and my experience, I believe that He is asking of me to be His instrument to remind others of His presence just like how others have reminded me. Moreover, He asks us to remain faithful and loyal to His teachings, and to believe and stay reassured, to not worry, for His plans are ultimate. With the lessons I have learned from my experiences, it will enable me to see things and situations in different perspectives that will encourage me to see the beauty and goodness in every positive and negative situation and its outcomes. The lessons, together with the reminders of God, encourages me to make myself into a better person, be it as a loving sister, an obedient student, a proud Christian, and etc. May those lessons serve as a guide for me to be a more faithful and humbler person that only seeks the love of our Father and creating more followers/disciples of God. To conclude, may the values of Faith and Love be learned from this reflection and serve as another reminder that God was, is and will always be here for us and to guide us with His ultimate plan, unchanging ways, and unconditional love.

Prayer for the Day: Almighty loving Father, we give thanks for You daily reminders that we are not alonenever alone, for You are here to heal, love and care for us in every moment, every second of our life. We ask for Your forgiveness, for our unhumble actions and wrongful thoughts and doing; No excuse of ours may justify the wrong, for You see everything. We pray for the health and stability of each and every one of us, especially our loved ones, to see and greet their mornings with reminders of You. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

MARTIN

Luke 6:20-26

The gospel says that nothing lasts forever. Now you might be hungry, weeping, rich, or filled but time will come that every single thing will pass away. True joy can only be found in God’s kingdom and in his hands. The message is that nothing will matter in the end, when we die then we die. Rich or poor, happy or sad, God will fill us and will sustain us in his care. The only thing that matters is if we are willing to let go of these earthly joys, and accept his grace into our hearts. There were times in my life where I experienced great hardship but it was all rewarded with joy and celebration. There were also times of happiness but of course, it also didn’t last forever. I think what the Lord was telling me was to believe that he has a plan for each and every one of us, and to always have hope in him. I also think he was telling me that without pain there can be no pleasure, without sacrifice there can be no joy, because we must go through all of this for the reward at the end. The Lord is asking me to always have hope in his plans, and to accept him in my life whole heartedly to receive his blessings and true joy. We should always help others to better understand what God is telling us. We should help them accept his faith into our life because he is the light and hope of the world.

Prayer for the Day: Dear Holy Father, we give thanks to You for Your light that shines upon us and guides us all throughout the way. Forgive us for the times we forget Your name and for continuously indulging in these earthly joys. Help us and always give us the hope and strength to push through the storm. Amen.

September 8

MENDOZA

Luke 6:12-19

This gospel teaches us to be compassionate to those who are poor using the story of Lazarus and the rich man. This teaches us to never forget those who do not have the same earthly joys that some of us take for granted. We should always help those in need and never reject them for they are also the children of God.

The message of this gospel is that the duty of those who are wealthy is to help those who are not. It tells us to never look down on those who are rejected by society just because they do not have money. We must protect every one and everything for all of these are creations of God. The values that we can learn from #1 and #2 is that the bearer of us suffered more to take care of us and to bring us to the world but how they treasured us to be alive and let us learn how to live our life to the fullest.

Prayer for the Day: Almighty God, the sovereign of all, I have been unjustly to how where I came from and relate to as appreciating life could be lowly difficult. Thank You for giving me this life that I have deserved, and let me learn to treasure forever. I ask for Your continuous guidance that could lead us into a more fruitful life. Amen.

September 9

RAYMUNDO

Luke 6: 39-42

Prayer for the Day: Lord, I let other people's opinions of me influence me much too much. I constantly try to appear to be either richer, wiser, or nicer than I actually am. Please don't let me try to get Your attention. Don't let me take pride in compliments or become disheartened by judgment. Amen.

Gospel message, Jesus asked his listeners: "Can a blind person lead a blind person? Both not fall into a pit? No disciple is better than the teacher, but after receiving all necessary training, each disciple will reflect his teacher. This Gospel teaches us about integrity and humble. Recognizing my mistakes and being willing to take in wisdom from other characteristics which show humility. By refraining from quickly pointing out other people's mistakes, which can lead to criticizing them, one can recognize the value of sincerity. When both humility and sincerity are lacking, one may be accused of being a hypocrite. We miss out on the opportunity to search within for a chance to increase our wisdom and character strength because we are too concerned with what we perceive to be the wrongdoings occurring around us. One might show greater empathy and compassion for others when they are humble. Humility increases one's propensity to consider the ideas and beliefs of others. This is most likely due to the possibility that humility provides to become less self-absorbed and more sensitive to the feelings of others. Disgrace comes pride, but wisdom is found with the humble. Likewise, younger people submit to the elders. Put on humility toward one another, all of you, for God opposes the arrogant but grants grace to the humble.

RODAS

Luke 6:12-19

The message tells us that a person good in nature will naturally produce good deeds, but a person evil in nature will naturally produce evil deeds. If you listen to God and act on His commandments, He may or may not fulfill your wishes, but He will guarantee to put you on the best path in life. But if you listen but do not act on His words, whatever success you build in life will only keep falling apart, just like the Tower of Babel. A good person naturally produces good deeds, whilst an evil person naturally produces bad deeds. If you listen to God and act on His commandments, you shall live a stable life. But if you listen to God and not act on His commandments, you shall then live a life full of misfortune. The text is reminding me something that I am currently experiencing in life and that is – neglecting God and my faith in Him. Recently I have been trying to turn around to Him once again, for I want to surrender my life and soul to Him and let Him take control.

September 10

RODAS

Luke 6:12-19 Based from my experience, the Lord is telling me to surrender my life to Him, and to listen and act on His commandments for only He can guide me alone through my path in life. By becoming a role model and starting on self-improvement physically, mentally, and spiritually. By retaining a good influence on everyone, the people around me will later on pass on the gift to everyone else and continue to enlighten and support each other. By sharing the words of God to everyone, discipling those who are in need of faith and hope. To learn to become obedient towards him, to become patient with His purpose for us, and to be thoroughly and always faithful in Him.

Prayer for the Day: Dear almighty and ever-living God, we place ourselves before You, as we exalt You and praise Your name. We ask You for forgiveness and mercy from all the sins we have committed recently, and all throughout our life. We are wholeheartedly grateful and thankful for all the continuous blessings You have given us. We ask You for Your continuous protection and guidance as we go on with our everyday lives. Amen.

AZARCON

Luke 15: 1-32 Today’s Gospel is about three parables: the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin and the Lost Son. All these parables center on something that is lost and once it is found, a greater meaning and value is learned. Once something is lost, the moment its owner finds it, he celebrates and rejoices. The Gospel teaches us that life is considered as dead with the absence of Our Father. It is without love, humility, and compassion; once we turn our away from Him. However, his love and mercy endures all our sins and rejection to Him. Regardless of what we did or how many of us have sinned, he will always love and accept us. We are always be found and seen by Him.

In my life, there are many times that I am like the lost sheep. There are times that I commit sin and turn away from God. I act on my own and forget about God’s teachings. I always end up feeling guilty and eventually I feel lost. But when I ask for forgiveness, and turn back to God I always feel renewed and safe. This experience is telling me that without God, we are lost. But if we humble ourselves and ask forgiveness, God will always love and accept us just like a true father who loves unconditionally. From this experience, Jesus is asking me to never be Prayer for the Day: lost – to always seek Him. As I live my life, I will always face trials but I should always anchor my beliefs and actions on Him so that I will not get lost. Almighty God, Our only source of love and acceptance, we worship and I can be a better person in my home, community glorify You! Thank You for always and country if I always have God’s guidance. I will loving us unconditionally even if we not be lost when I do things according to His don’t deserve it. We repent for the sins teachings. I will create a loving and peaceful life if I we have committed and for the times we do things on our own without anchor my life in Him. seeking for Your guidance. Luke 7: 1-10

In the gospel, Jesus meets a man of great faith. It comes from a shocking person and yields some shocking truths. Jesus entered Capernaum after he had finished speaking to the people. In there, there was a centurion who had a servant whom he held in high regard. The servant was gravely ill and would most likely die. The centurion sought help, and they came to Jesus. However, a short distance away from their house, the centurion told Jesus not to bother himself. For he is not worthy to have Jesus enter his roof. But it is up to God whether or not he will grant his request. This reveals that the centurion was a humble man who cared more about others than he did about himself. Jesus was astonished by what the man said and did. He approached Christ with respect. Jesus compared everyone to the man, saying that like the man, we should be humble and trusting in the Lord.

September 12

CINCO

Luke 7: 1-10 The gospel teaches us what great faith is and how to obtain it. The centurion in the gospel is a model of effective Christian service. Despite his position of authority, he became a servant to his own servant by asking Jesus to heal him. He knows that Jesus is the only one who can save his servant's life, which is why he sought Jesus' assistance. This teaches all of us to put others first and not to think of ourselves as superior. Many of us believe that those in positions of power or influence don't need to show concern for those beneath them. Yet, the centurion shows us that we must humble ourselves and show humility to many. Furthermore, the centurion understands that Jesus is the Lord and that he is nothing to ask him. That is why, rather than urging Jesus to save his servant's life and grant his request, he humbled himself and had enough faith in Jesus to tell him that Jesus only needed to say a word and his servant would be healed. It takes a lot of faith and trust to believe that Jesus always hears and answers our prayers. However, the answer to our prayers may not be what we expected. At times, the answer may be more than we had hoped for. The only things we need to do is to trust God, surrender our pride and doubts to him and seek him earnestly with humble heart and expectant faith.

Prayer for the Day:

Thank You, Heavenly God, for always assisting us and always granting our requests despite our lack of faith in You. We know that we are unworthy of You, but You continue to knock on the door of our hearts. Guide us and bless us with wisdom so that we can also humble ourselves before You and trust Your way, just like what the centurion did. We make this prayer in Your Mighty Name with the Father and the Holy Spirit one God forever and ever, Amen.

CLARIZA

Luke 7:11-17 Jesus and His disciples were accompanying Him, and they journeyed to a city called Nain. There was a man who had died and was being carried out, The Lord went closer and revived the young man and the people were stunned.

The message that I got from the gospel is that we should fear God. If we fear God, we can avoid sins or temptations, if we learn to fear, we will learn to control ourselves and have inner peace. We can also influence other people through their actions and behaviors, and we’ll be able to spread the good influence into the community. I learned to fear God since I already experienced the consequences of my actions. One experience in my life is that I am being disrespectful to my parents and a few years later, I’ve been disrespected by others. I learned to reflect on this and pray to God that I wouldn’t be able to repeat such things again. The Lord is asking me to be kind and hopeful to what I do. He is also telling me to pray and be faithful no matter how hard these times may be. Living up to prayer and work can make me a better person through influence of kindness and positivity to my friends and family, including the community. The values that we can learn from the gospel are obedience and hospitality. Through obedience, we respect, obey, and understand, through hospitality we offer any kind of help that can greatly a person or a community.

Prayer for the Day: Lord, we adore and glorify You. I ask You to guide me into everything that I do in my daily life, I also ask for Your forgiveness and hope that I won’t repeat the same mistake or sin that I have committed. I thank You for all the blessings that You have given to us. Amen.

John 3: 13-17

The gospels tells us of who had exited from Heaven, that being Jesus Christ. Yet in the same way that Moses lifted the serpent, so to must Jesus. God gave us his only son as a form of love, for us all to receive eternal life and to be saved. I believe that this day’s gospel wants us to understand how important we are to God, and how important Jesus is to us. Giving your son to save countless lives tells us that we are important in the eyes of God, but we must also give the same level of importance to him. We should learn to appreciate and thank Jesus more for his efforts to save our lives. As someone who admittedly isn’t as passionate about my faith as other people, I think this is God’s call for me to examine my faith one more time. I treat this gospel as an invitation to become closer with God and learn what he has done for me, and what I can do for him. As mentioned earlier, I believe that instead of a conversion, this gospel serves more as an invitation to me. I believe he is inviting me to know more about him, and know what my purpose is as a Christian. I believe we could all learn to guide each other to have more faith. Not all of us are as faithful as each other, and I believe that we could learn from each other’s experience, and faith to grow not only better as people, but to be closer to God.

Prayer for the Day:

Lord I praise and glorify Your most holy name. I thank You for giving me an opportunity to see another day, and another opportunity to improve myself. I thank You as well for helping and guiding me through my mistakes, and on how I should manage through them. I ask for more of Your guidance as I continue to understand myself, my faith, and You better. I thank You for allowing me to appreciate Your glory and all that You have done for us. This, I pray in Your most holy name amen.

Luke 2: 33-35

In my understanding this reflection is all about a mothers love. Her son died on the cross and Mary and her family stands beside Him. This goes to show how much a mother cares and love for their son. The gospel is all about the cross and how it will deepen our faith to God. Our Lord died for our sins and suffering on the cross. Mary His mother has always been faithful to Him and it shows how much faith we also should put to God. When I was doing my homework I was stuck in a given problem that I can’t solve. My mother always helped me in my time of need. She was always there to guide and support me in every struggle I come up against. As a loyal servant to God I must stay loyal to him for I am one of his children. I should understand his word by heart and put it into mind. I can become a better person by following Gods commandments and by recognizing his sacrifices to us. Moreover, showing love and faith about Gods wisdom to my community will adhere Gods works. The values that we can learn from this is that we should always remember the sacrifice Jesus has done so that we could be forgiven for our sins.

Prayer for the Day: Dear lord, Your death on the cross you have given us freedom and tranquility. We ask for Your forgiveness for the sins we have done. We are thankful for the blessing You give us each day, the warm food we eat, the bed we share, and a family that cares. May You continue to bless us with your everyday guidance and loving care. Amen.

Luke 8: 1-3

A frequent reminder and appearance in the bible, and in our daily lives, is that God is beyond powerful and is merciful; This is observed in His ways of showing His love to us in which to love is not to force. In my understanding, the good news for this particular day as found in the assigned gospel is that spreading of the word of God remains constant through generations and generations in which many more people will have God as the center of their lives to have a life full of faith, less worry, and deeper understanding. Through believing in God did the mentioned people turn into better people who looked at right and empathetic decisions.

The journey of travelling through cities and town, Jesus, together with His twelve apostles and certain women, did not cease their preaching and evangelizing of the Kingdom of God. Furthermore, the people mentioned served as a living and concrete example of how becoming a disciple can make you into a better person that is due to following the Lord’s teachings and ways.

Luke 6:12-19 My family used to not attend services and not practice praying in simple parts of the day, like having of the meal and before going to sleep, but through the pandemic, we started practicing the tasks a Christian person do. I remember it very vividly, the first time we prayed together as a family, we formed a circle while hands are held together, heads bowed down and eyes closed shut, in my sister and I’s room. My father suddenly told us that from that day onward, we will be giving time and importance on the value of prayer and the ways of a disciple and a Christian. We practiced it because of the observation made by my parents wherein the simple act of prayer will influence another person to do the same for its significance and value; It is when my youngest sibling prayed before blowing of the candle as to which I recorded that unusual action in our household and sent it immediately to our family group chat due to an unknown reason that made me feel proud of that moment. Since then, we continued having prayers before and after meals, before we sleep and if we just wanted to share our individual time with God. With that experience, I believe that it shows that the word of God may come to us, in what we may believe to be, intentional or unintentional, planned or unplanned but the effect of being introduced again to our Father and having Him again as the center of our lives will remain as the most beautiful and magnificent moment in our lives. It shows that it does not matter whether one is currently in the highest of highs or lowest of lows part of their life, for God will come to you in the perfect time, whenever it may be; It proves that God is always involved in our lives.

Luke 6:12-19 To spread the Word of God and make disciples are what I believe to be asked from me; Nothing will go wrong through such actions. These are what I believe to be asked by the Lord from my experience, for He has always successfully shown me, without doubt, the goodness of His ways, most especially from the people who seeks the same love I seek from God. Moreover, by continuously following the ways of the Lord and sharing His good news, I will become a better person, in thoughts and in actions. May those constant actions serve as a proof for other people that the word of the Lord and His love will never be a failure in one’s life.

To conclude, may the values of patience and trust guide us into having a deeper understanding in the ways and plans of God. May we remain worry-free in every second of our lives and continue to embrace God’s love. May we be reminded that He is powerful and merciful, for He believes that to love is not by force. May the spreading of the word of God remain constant through generations and generations, and may the word of God change our life to a more faithful and worryless life.

Prayer for the Day: Loving and merciful Father, we give You thanks for reminding us of Your love and ways that may perceivably be confusing at first but make sense to us later on as we patiently learn through Your ways. We are sorry for situations wherein we dropped You in our priority lists due to excuses that will remain invalid, not worth comparing to Your glory. We ask again for Your guidance and love for today, and we pray for the good health of our classmates, teachers and families. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Luke 8: 4-15 The parable that Jesus sends is how we come to bear the words through us. Lessons that he came to bear but everyone are just to busy to bother. To those who bother to listen or to wrap themselves on their ego knows better what is best to do or what is not to do. This message reaches out as how the seed of message spreads out for people to open their ears and let it sink in slowly but for those people who have listened but slowly forgot it as they let it choke themselves out from anxiousness of mistakes or wrongdoings.

For the conversion of my mind, heart and life is always the same. The seed of truth could be a way of evolution of ourselves that it could bring peace and silence. Giving my life as a gift to the community and my family is such important because of how we take a truth and let the humanity in us take over because through that Lord is guiding us through it. The values that we can learn from #1 and #2 is that its okay to not accept the truth from the moment you heard it, closure and instant understanding could be a leading source of how to expand its own openness.

The text says to me and to my life as is that truth could be suffocating but there are times that it could be healthy, that as long as the truth stamps into you, the longer you carry it in your life to realize your mistakes.

Prayer for the Day: Ever living God, the source of peace and wisdom, I greatly sinned of how I have not appreciated the truth that has been placed upon on me despite it has not deepen any scars. As I ask for Your seeds of wisdom to be flourished and nourished to us even more. Amen.

Luke 16:1-13

According to the Gospel, the idea is not to try to save more money if you do not have enough saved to feel safe. Spend your little resources on kindness or hospitality instead. Of course, this should be done responsibly, in ways that help others. Important reminder for me to not let money rule my life. "You cannot serve God and wealth,". To put it another way, the Bible makes it quite that God is our savior. This indicates that the only person or object we can serve is God. Many people have turned evil because of money and believe that everything in the world revolves around it. To obtain money, they will do anything, even the inconceivable. We need money to survive, but we shouldn't let money rule our lives. Some people, driven by their desire for money, have strayed from the faith and caused themselves much suffering. But they forget one thing money is not everlasting they cannot bring their money into God's kingdom. This gospel teaches us to be honest, the easier it is to trust you, the more honest you are. When you trust others, not only will they but yourself may feel more secure, also don’t broke their trust It won’t end well. It's always a good idea to spread kindness and create positive energy. That is far simpler to accomplish when being honest than when being dishonest or unfaithful. Trust encourages honesty. People tend to trust us more if we practice honesty. The message of the gospel calls me to serve only the Lord and no one else. Serving Him entails making Him the top priority and the focus of everything we do.

Prayer for the Day:

I pray that we would develop and grow in our feeling of honesty even when it is difficult after pondering on the Gospel. I also wish and pray that we will have the courage to put God at the center of our lives, and I ask the Lord to guide anyone who is still having trouble doing so. May he bring peace to our lives. God, please make it easier for us to admit when we make mistakes. Help us to own our faults, apologize, and move on

No one lights a lamp and keeps it hidden, rather He places it on a lampstand so that everyone can see the light. Nothing hidden or secret will remain hidden and a secret, everything will come to light. Those who have more light will be given more, and those who lack it will lose more, regardless of what He has.

All of us act as a shining example of God, whether to share our hope or faith in God, each and every one of us have light in us that can lead others to God. Whatever it is that is hidden away or kept in secret, will always come to light. If you do not let God burn your soul, you will not see your light shining in you, but if you let God burn your soul, the light cannot be contained for everyone to see. Based from my experience, the Lord is asking me to disciple and lead everyone towards the path of righteousness and faith in God. I am to become a beacon of faith and hope so that I would be able to save more people ridden of true purpose in life. By becoming a role model and starting on selfimprovement physically, mentally, and spiritually. By retaining a good influence on everyone, the people around me will later on pass on the gift to everyone else and continue to enlighten and support each other. By sharing the words of God to everyone, discipling those who are in need of faith and hope. Luke 8: 19-21 Today’s gospel tells us of the time Mary and Jesus’ brothers wanted to join him but there were too many people. They were unable to come near him. When someone told Jesus about this, his reaction was that His mother and brothers were those who listened to God’s word and lived by these Words. The message of today’s Gospel is that Jesus considers as family those who listen and act upon God’s word. This means that whoever acts in accordance to the Scriptures, Jesus considers them his family because of their obedience to His Father.

In my life I have experienced this when a close friend acted out upon me. I wanted to fight him because I believe that I was right and he was wrong. Before I confronted him, I prayed and read the Bible because I was so down. Because of my anger, I thought of lashing out on him. However, the Scripture reminded me to be patient and control my mouth. I realized that I was being so harsh on my friend, even if he was the one who was really at fault, I should not be confrontational. The Lord is telling me through this experience that doing my action according to God’s word makes me a true son of God because of my obedience to Him. The Lord is asking me not only to listen to His words but to do and follow it. I should base my actions upon His words as a good and obedient follower. I can be a better person at home, in my community and in my country if I obey God’s words. I can minimize conflicts and sin when I follow His words , subsequently my relationship with others will be well because I am following God’s words. The values I learn from #1 and #2 is obedience and righteousness because it reminds me to obey God’s words and do what is right

Prayer for the Day:

Dear God, You are the Most Powerful and the Most High! We adore and worship you. We thank you for always guiding us. We thank you for always being there for us. We know we do not deserve Your kindness. We ask forgiveness for all our sins. Please continue to guide us to become better sons and daughters. May we always follow Your commandments and always chose to do what is right. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!

September 21 Matthew 9: 9-13

Jesus noticed a man named Matthew sitting at the customs post. He asked for the man to follow him and the man did what he said. Meanwhile, the Pharisees noticed that many tax collectors and sinners came and sat beside Jesus, along with his disciples, so they asked. Jesus reply by comparing that those who are healthy do not need a physician, but those who are sick do. From the gospel, Jesus invites everyone to follow him. He is not calling perfect people, but rather sinners. Furthermore, when we follow Jesus, we must encourage others to do the same. Sinners cannot be saved unless they interact with God. We, as his disciples, must go forth and find sinners and bring them to Jesus. By doing so, we are not only obeying Jesus, but also modeling Jesus' own behavior.

Matthew 9: 9-13 In the gospel, the Pharisees thought they were holy and they cannot come near to sinners like the tax collectors or else they will be contaminated. Vice versa, Jesus teaches us in the gospel to love our neighbors regardless of their background. Jesus looks at the heart of a person and not at the appearance. That is why he invited the man named Matthew and other sinners to join and follow him. Nowadays, most of us forget to see each other as equals. It is easy for us to judge others based on their external appearance and the sins they have committed. We forget that we are all sinners who make mistakes. Today’s gospel, Jesus reminds us to love, to be compassionate, to accept and respect other people whoever they are. More importantly, we must always be humble and ready to forgive. Let us remember that we are all sinners in need of the Lord's help. God loves and accepts us regardless of how sinful we are. His only desire is that we love Him back. Everyone is called to be a disciple of Jesus. It makes no difference what our backgrounds are. We may have committed many sins, but our past does not define us. It doesn’t even matter what people think of us. What matters is how we respond to His call. It is our decision today and our plan for the future that God looks upon with His merciful eyes. God wants us to be merciful, not to be religious.

Prayer for the Day: Thank You, Heavenly Father, for loving and accepting us even though we are sinners. We know that we are not perfect and we are nothing without You in our lives. Bless us and keep reminding us to always be humble and compassionate to others. You invite us to be Your followers, and as such, we must love and accept everyone, regardless of who they are or what they have done. May we be deserving of Your unfailing love. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your son, who lives and reigns with You forever and ever. Amen

Luke 9: 7-9 Herod heard some people saying that John has raised from the dead, Herod was confused in how it happened. He then said that he beheaded John and tried to seek him.

The message that I can get from the gospel is that if we’re trying to seek something, we dedicate ourselves to obtain or attain the thing we want. Some people go through bad or harmful ways to get what they want, and this is quite unhealthy in a way that it can potentially affect us or our close ones. The message that I am trying to say is that no matter how hard it is to attain something, we must not go through such ways that can greatly affect us, an example of this is cheating in an exam, if we cheat in an exam, we won’t learn anything valuable that can actually help us in life. One experience that I can remember is lying to my parents to get what I want. I then realized that the thing I desired when I was at that age won’t be useful for me anymore. I then learned to conserve since buying some things won’t be used in the future or is it even useful for me in that day. The Lord is asking me to be kind and hopeful to what I do. He is also telling me to pray and be faithful no matter how hard these times may be. Living up to prayer and work can make me a better person through influence of kindness and positivity to my friends and family, including the community. The values that we learn from the gospel are prayer and discipline. Through discipline we would learn to obey the rules or laws and to respect people and their beliefs. Through prayer we would learn to have a good communication to God and have a good flow of our daily lives.

Prayer for the Day:

Lord, we adore and glorify You. I ask You to guide me into everything that I do in my daily life, I also ask for Your forgiveness and hope that I won’t repeat the same mistake or sin that I have committed. I thank you for all the blessings that You have given to us. Amen.

Luke 9: 18-22

The gospel tells of a story in the bible. Jesus had asked the disciples who the crowds say Jesus is. The disciples tell him John the Baptist or Elijah the prophet, but Peter told him that he was the son of God. Jesus told the disciples not to tell this to anyone, as he must suffer, die and raise on the third day. As Christians, we shouldn’t let other beliefs shake our faith. We should always know and retain in our mind that Jesus is King and the Son of God. I believe this gospel speaks out to me as a Christian and to be more faithful. Let’s learn to be faithful no matter what we’re going through. I believe that the purpose of faith is to teach us to trust in God no matter what our situation is. While I respect everybody else’s religion, what is special about my religion is that I truly know that Jesus is the Son of God. While I should still respect everyone’s religion, I should also share my experience as a Christian and how believing in Jesus can help others. I believe that God wants me to not only maintain my faith in him, but to spread it. There are still many people who do not believe in God who may be converted into Christianity. While I will respect their decision and beliefs, I will still try my best to encourage them to know God better

Prayer for the Day:

Lord I praise and glorify your most holy name. I thank You for giving me an opportunity to see another day, and another opportunity to improve myself. I thank You as well for helping and guiding me through my mistakes, and on how I should manage through them. I pray that You help us Christians maintain our faith in you. I pray that for those who don’t believe in You, You still keep them safe no matter the occasion. I pray as well for those who converted into Christianity, and I pray that You guide them in their new life. This I pray in Jesus’ name amen.

Luke 9: 43-45

We are always praising God and His divine doings. God gives us words that we cannot understand for it is hidden. We should seek and look for this meaning for this is our mission we have in this world to God. The message of this gospel tells us to always pay attention to God to what his telling us. We should welcome his kind words to only in our ears but in our heart and life also. Evaluating his words with sincerity will guide us on to what words are we to hear and take to heart. When I was a kid, my parents told me to take it slow and careful at our neighborhood playground where the kids played. But I was in a hurry, and my mind was in another mode, so what they said didn't process well in my mind, and I didn't understand what they said. I didn't return to them to ask what they said, so I'm stuck with the consequences; I tripped because I didn't understand what they said. I can be a better listener and understand certain words they are saying to me. With this I am able to help them with sincerity and a kind heart. We should listen carefully to our surroundings and analyze it deeply. Moreover, put this words into our hearts and minds so that we can learn from it. We should assess our the problems and put it into our mind and our hearts. Furthermore, we may learn from this so that it will guide us through many experiences.

Prayer for the Day:

Luke 16: 19-31

This gospel teaches us to be compassionate to those who are poor using the story of Lazarus and the rich man. This teaches us to never forget those who do not have the same earthly joys that some of us take for granted. We should always help those in need and never reject them for they are also the children of God. The message of this gospel is that the duty of those who are wealthy is to help those who are not. It tells us to never look down on those who are rejected by society just because they do not have money. We must protect every one and everything for all of these are creations of God. There was a time when a beggar was begging for money on the streets. He asked for money but I didn’t have any, what I had was a sandwich that I bought as extra to eat at home. I gave him the sandwich because I knew that he was very hungry and that he couldn’t afford to buy any food. We are all children of God and we must help each other in times of despair, we must protect each other because we are all created in his image. The Lord is asking me to provide for those who are in need and to encourage others who can, to do the same. Helping others will improve myself as a person and also caring for the weak not because somebody is watching, but doing it out of goodwill.

Prayer for the Day: Lord, holy father, thank You for giving us the life that we have now. Thank You for providing us with food and clothes every day. Forgive those who forget to care and help those who are in need. Grant them the strength to give all that they have for others, not for themselves but for the betterment of everyone. Amen.

Luke 6: 12-19

Because of the argument that arose, Jesus, who knew of their intentions, put a halt into the argument by using the child as an example. Then, John replied with a particular situation that happened and their actions toward it. Jesus replied the course of action that must be observed when such happens. The gospel pertains to the unnecessary want and need for us to compare ourselves to each other, for equal is what we are in God’s eyes and we are all welcome to be his disciple without any conditions but the love for God; This also pertains to the judgement we place on others’ head in which is not supposed to be, for only God may do so. No matter our situation, status, and the like, no sequence/order is made for one to put pride over sincerity. Moreover, the simple reminder that we are always reminded of is shown in this gospel, Love of Christ and Neighbor. It is shown in a way that through loving and caring for people, we are also showing love and care to Christ and God. Waking up early in the morning to prepare for our service has been something that I look forward to, though honestly due to the time we got to roam around often after the said service. But as we continually attend the service every week, I started noticing the people of the that community. They were all so kind and welcoming that it made me wonder why. Regardless of knowing another person’s background, they welcome them with open arms and hearts, ready to embrace a new disciple, excited to share to them God’s words, and happy to pray and include them in their prayers. I saw how loving and caring they were, and I hoped to do the same for others. In addition, our service has projects that enable to expand their way of helping other people; Short videos are often shown to us to be aware of God’s wonderful plan and part in their lives. Perhaps in this experience of mine, he is reminding me of the wonderful people around me and the beauty that is brought outside of a person to be shown to others because they are proud disciples.

Luke 6: 12-19

To become a proud and knowledgeable disciple is what I think He is asking of me; Just like the people in the service community are unjudging, welcoming and proud disciples. These are what I believed the Lord is asking from my experience, for He has shown his power and love through the people of the said community that have placed a big impact in my character. May this experience of mine and reminders of His serve as another guidance for me to have better character and approach on the different outlooks in and of my life and of others. To conclude, may the values of humility and understanding be reminded of its importance in our lives through this reflection of mine; May these serve as a reminder that through humbling ourselves, we will find the understanding of different outlooks in our lives, most especially in God’s eyes.

Prayer for the Day: Loving Father, we thank You for giving us another day to enjoy this blessing of life You let us borrow and for providing us with people who loves and cares for us through Your ways. We are sorry for our sins and actions that may or may not hurt others in the process. We continue to ask for Your guidance and the safety of our loved ones. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Luke 6: 12-19 During his trip to Jerulsaem, to take its reception by the Samaritan Village, people have not inveted him in. Despite his journey to Jerusalem, people were wary of him and not ready to welcome him. Even if his disciples are ready to deal with them, the Lord was already on his way. This message says that there are people who have been wary despite of how to let the people know the Lord's word is to be welcoming despite what he is or who he is. Lord has always been ready to wait the people to accept him. The text says to me and to my life that not everyone would be open arms and reaedy to accept, even if you would need to tolerate the people who think lowly of you an easy shrug and smile would make a person go on easy.

The conversion of the mind, heart and life is how the Lord is asking me is how I could nurture the understanding the people of how the people approach towards the people. May it be difficult or hard to sweep it off but it is easy to accept and move on. I can gift my life towards my family and community through learning how people grasp the situation that not everything is easy to get, but it is to understand patience. The values we can get is that a path of how it would be different to force people to like you or to accept you because of how you got used to it, but as time passes by, it would be asking for validation.

Prayer for the Day:

Heavenly Lord, the highest of form of heavens, I am sorry for the things that I have made on the way on how I would lower myself in how I could be possible on to learn the way of acceptance. Luke 9: 57-62

In this Gospel, Others are welcomed to follow Jesus. But becoming a disciple is a radical call that needs our continued support. It entails taking up one's cross daily and moving toward him. Compare and contrast Jesus' entire dedication to carrying out his Father's plan with the requirements and criteria we can set in response to his call to discipleship. Jesus asks to help us better understand who we are, which helps us become more self-aware. Even our excuses present a chance to identify what genuinely attracts us and lead them to Christ himself. Even our excuses present a chance to identify what genuinely attracts us and lead them to Christ himself. Jesus is our life and light. We grow greater and resemble Jesus more as we follow him. Even in the face of difficult circumstances, finding joy, contentment, and peace by imitating His light and example will bring us. This Gospel reminded us of be prepared to submit and serve to Jesus. I witnessed our lives change believing and following Jesus. People witnessed the release of those under the control of evil spirits as well as the healing of those suffering from various sicknesses. Our confidence in God increased. Whether I believe it to be a good deed or not, it is important that I think things through carefully before acting. I cannot undo what has already been done, mistakes are common. The key thing is that I will have to learned from my mistakes and are aware of how I improve moving forward.

Prayer for the Day:

I’m grateful to the Lord for all the benefits in my life. Lord have given me more than you could have possibly dreamed. You have placed watchful individuals all around me. You have blessed me with family and friends who think and act kindly toward me everyday Amen.

Jesus noticed Nathanael and said Nathanael is a man of no duplicity and a true child of Israel. Nathanael asks Jesus if He knows him, with Jesus replying that before Philip had called him, He had seen him under a fig tree, Nathanael then answered Him saying He is the Son of God. Jesus then asked him if he believes in Him just because He said he was under a fig tree, and answered that he shall see greater things as the gates of Heavens open.

In whatever situation we are in, we must never doubt God and always trust His words. To have absolute faith in His guidance and His identity as our God, we shall please Him. For in the end of the day, we will be seeing greater things as we follow God’s words. The text reminds me of an experience to trust God and His absolute words. Never doubt Him for He shall always reveal the truth for you, and shock you with the greatness of the light. Based from my experience, the Lord is asking me to have absolute trust in His words and guidance, to never neglect nor doubt His identity, for He is our one and only true God. We are wholeheartedly grateful and thankful for all the continuous blessings You have given us. We ask You for Your continuous protection and guidance as we go on with our everyday lives. Amen.

MARTIN

Luke 10: 13-16 Whoever listens to the words of the prophets and Jesus’ disciples listens to Jesus himself and to God, who sent him. In order to make others listen to his words we must first accept it unto ourselves. This is because as Jesus said, “Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me.”. Even if we do not see Jesus today, we must always believe that he will be forever in our hearts.

The message of the gospel is to believe in Christ and in his works. He may not be present physically but he is inside of every single one of us. We should put our faith in him always and accept his words and teachings and to inculcate it into our everyday lives. We should never doubt and question him instead, listen to him and hear his truth, for he is all-knowing and the son of God. There was a time where my friend was questioning God’s plan for him but instead, I told him to see it through to the end. He did what I said and he was glad that he did, his actions were repaid with joy because he believed that there is always hope for him and everything that he is doing no matter how hard it was. The Lord is asking me to believe in him for he has done the impossible and has shown us the light of his faith. I can improve myself by teaching others what Christ has taught us for them to understand that his words are the truth and nothing but the truth

Prayer for the Day:

"Dear Lord, Jesus Christ, we give thanks to You for your hope that guides us in all of our decisions in life. Forgive us for sometimes questioning your plans for us and forgive us for the times that we have doubted you and your name. Give us strength to go forward and always believe in your words, this we pray to you Lord Jesus Christ, Amen. "

"That in All Things, God may be Glorified."
