She reunites with an old friend and love interest, Kat Hollowbone, in an adventure to save their friend Blob Ghost whose spirit remains trapped in a mall. However, tension builds between the friends as Kat gives into a superiority complex built by her aunt, insinuating that her powers as a sorcerer made her too good for Beetles lack of education. The pair must get over their differences and secret anxiety of falling for the other person in order to save their friend before the mall is destroyed.

Content Tags: - LGBTQ+: Lesbian relationship portrayed between two main characters. The depiction of the relationship is casual and age appropriate. Use of the word “weird” to represent where “queer” might go instead. Why We Like It: The queer relationship potrayed is very easy to understand, and doesn’t make their sexual identity something either character dreads. Because of this, the language and emotions used would be very accessible to young, queer readers who not always exposed to such casual love stories of their own.
