WELCOME It is my sincere privilege to welcome you to this momentous occasion and congratulate you. You have made it! Well done. It has been our great honor to partner with you on this journey. We believe that God has a purpose and plan for every student that calls CCCK home. During our time we have shared with you our mission, intended to shape character and prepare you to fulfill God’s unique design for you life. Some of that we have seen while you were with us. Now we wait in great anticipation to see your story unfold as a journey forth. Be sure to always remember the principal qualities that have been a fundamental aspect of your education. That is to pursue a Christ-Centered life – a life dedicated to seeking Christ-like character through the ongoing pursuit of the Core Four: Mind, Heart, Soul, and Strength. For it is our assertion that in pursuing the character of Christ you will ultimately find purpose and meaning today and throughout eternity. Again, congratulations. May the grace of God go with you and may His countenance be upon you.

OUR MISSION Central Christian College of Kansas, an evangelical Christian College embracing the Wesleyan tradition, is dedicated to educating men and women of character who will impact the world for Christ. The mission statement, “Christ-Centered Education for Character,” affirms the ethos that has inspired the College since its inception. Our mission drives us forward to glorify God through all of our programs, offerings, and learning environments.
A BRIEF HISTORY In September 1884, under the leadership of Principal Damon, Orleans Seminary opened its doors. Later, in 1914, the College moved to McPherson, KS under a new name, “Central Academy and College”. Since that time, Central College served as the state’s oldest junior college until its advent as a four-year institution in 1991, now known as Central Christian College of Kansas. While materially remaining in McPherson, KS, the college expanded its influence with the introduction of online learning. This strategic development enlarged the influence of the college, allowing it to maintain its residential experience here in McPherson, but also ensuring global access to its mission. Throughout the 136-year history of Central Christian College of Kansas, the driving force has been the same: Central is committed to providing quality education from a Christian worldview. As we reflect on the committed Christians who have poured their lives and God-given talents into this school, we are grateful for their service and their sacrifices in the name of Christ. More than an accolade to any man, all glory returns to God for His provision for and guidance of this vessel we now call Central Christian College of Kansas.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Commencement is a ceremony in which preliminary degree candidates are recognized for their academic achievements. The commencement program reflects the name and degree of each degree candidate as well as any honors noted at the time of printing.

SERVANT LEADER INDUCTEES Les & Margie Hargadine (CC ‘59, ‘58) Les and Margie Hargadine have been part of the Central and the McPherson community for over 60 years. Margie heard about Jesus and became saved at a high school during summer camp. She came to attend Central Academy (high school) from 1956-1958 and went on to attend Central College in 1959. During that time, she met college sophomore Les, also a new believer. Les and Margie were married in 1959. In July, they celebrated 61 years of marriage and credit much of their success to what they learned at Central College and their church. While at Central College, Les focused on pre-engineering classes and playing athletics: baseball and basketball. Margie was involved in basketball, cheerleading, student council, dorm council, and yearbook. After attending Central College, Les worked several jobs before serving at the NCRA Refinery in McPherson for 11.5 years and at Johns Manville for 25 years. He continued to promote within the company until he retired. Margie worked as the church secretary at the McPherson Free Methodist Church for a total of 23 years along with dear friends, Rev. Tom and Bettie Griffith and later for Rev. David Kendall. Les states that “my feeling is that God must have known I needed someone to watch over me. Tom [Griffith] was His chosen one”. God has truly blessed this couple, through their family (three daughters who all attended CCCK), their occupations, and their service. Now, you can find Margie and Les traveling, playing golf, and volunteering countless hours at CCCK during summer work days.
ACADEMÈ OF ACHIEVER INDUCTEE Don Anderson (CC ‘49) As a young man Dr. Anderson began his journey at Central Christian College of Kansas (CCCK) in the 1940’s having attended Central Academy and College, graduating in 1949. His educational pursuits did not stop there. He continued on to earn his Bachelors in Mathematics, Master’s in Physics and Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics. Though he began instructing in 1948, as a rural Kansas teacher and principle at 18 years old, his career has spanned both University and Aerospace R&D; teaching in areas of Aircraft Accident Investigation, Aeronautics, Engineering Mechanics and Physics. For over 50 years, he piloted his own light plane, was certified as a commercial flight instructor and instruments with flights covering the USA, British Columbia, Western Mexico and Baja and Northern Ireland across Europe. He and his wife, Georgia have been married over 70 years. Together they have taught crews to drill water wells and install pumps, bringing pure water to remote villages, schools, and churches. He is former Board Member of CCCK and is a strong supporter of the college through consistent prayer and love.
