1st April Dear Parents This week, the children will be discussing the question that relates to events that took place in the Weddell Sea, Antarctica. Our question to think about: If you keep trying, will you always succeed? This follows on from the discovery of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s ship, Endurance, which was found 107 years after it became trapped and sank in the ice. It symbolises the incredible story of survival of the crew of the Endurance. They kept trying, they succeeded and survived being ship wrecked in an inhospitable part of the world. They did not give up, they worked as a team and survived as a team. Year 6, have recently studied a text all about the survival of Shackleton and his crew, they also found this discovery fascinating. We are inviting you to discuss the questions and information on the attached PDF. The children DO NOT need to return anything to school, but they will be able to add their thoughts and comments to the display board in the hall. Thank you for your support and have a peaceful Easter break. Ms Inglis Curriculum Lead
