Future Plans: I will be attending the Ohio State University, in their Honors Program and SUSTAINS Learning Community. I plan on majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I hope to continue gaining work experience in the engineering field through internships and co-op rotations. After graduating from OSU, I plan to further my education by attending graduate school.

Criteria for Identified Awards Honors Diploma – To receive this award, all but one of the following criteria must be satisfied: 3.5 GPA after 7 semesters (must be unweighted), 27 ACT /1280 or higher SAT, 4 Math, 3 Foreign Language (or 2 units in 2 languages), 4 Sciences, 4 Social Studies, 1 Art. Career Tech Honors Diploma – To receive this award, all but one of the following criteria must be satisfied: 3.5 GPA after 7 semesters (must be unweighted), 27 ACT/1280 or higher SAT, 6 or higher on Reading for Information and 6 or higher on Applied Mathematics on WorkKeys, 4 Math, 4 Science (2 units of advanced), 4 Social Studies, 2 World Language, completion of a field experience and documentation in a portfolio, earn an industry-recognized credential or achieve proficiency benchmark for appropriate Ohio Career-Technical Competency Assessment or equivalent. Social Science and Civic Engagement Honors Diploma – To receive this award, all but one of the following criteria must be satisfied: 3.5 GPA after 7 semesters (must be unweighted), 27 ACT/1280 or higher SAT, 4 Math, 3 Science (1 unit of advanced), 5 Social Studies, 3 World Language (or 2 units in 2 languages), 1 Fine Arts, 3 Electives with a focus in Social Studies and/or Civics, completion of a field experience and documentation in a portfolio. Presidential Award of Educational Excellence - To receive this award, students must have a 3.5 or better GPA and an ACT score of 24 or a score of 1160 on the SAT. President's Award for Educational Achievement - Recognizes students who show outstanding educational growth, improvement, commitment to or intellectual development in their academic subjects. National Honor Society - Minimum overall GPA of 3.5 with selection by faculty based upon exemplary performance in areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. National Technical Honor Society - Nominees are evaluated based on scholarship, service, leadership, and character. To be eligible, students must meet the following requirements: • Earn all A’s in their program of study at Polaris • Maintain a 95 percent or higher attendance rate • Maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. President's Volunteer Service Award - To recognize those students who, through the SITES Program, have given up to 200 hours of service in the community within the past 12 months.

Academic Letter – To receive this award, students earn points toward a letter via high grades, participation in academic-related school-sponsored activities, high test scores and selective awards. Service Award – Students who volunteer their time to provide service and leadership to the school. Six points are required to receive a Service Award. Polaris Career Center Graduate – Students who have received their Career Passport through Polaris Career Center. International Thespian Society - The International Thespian Society, a division of the Educational Theatre Association, is an honorary theatre organization for students in high school and middle school. The ITS offers everything from varied performance venues to college audition opportunities to formal awards and scholarships.

Ohio Means Jobs Readiness Seal - To earn the Ohio Means Jobs-Readiness Seal, motivated high school students must demonstrate certain professional skills required for success in the workplace. Students work with at least three experienced and trusted mentors who validate the demonstration of these skills in school, work, or the community.
