Assessment 1 – Knowledge Questions The RTO is responsible for the creation and attachment of their own cover sheet. The RTO cover sheet should contain satisfaction of overall competency for the unit, authenticity, assessment instructions and the RTO’s particular requirements and processes for its students in regard to each assessment.

Assessor Instructions: Context This assessment is designed to allow students to demonstrate their knowledge in the unit HLTWHS002 – Follow safe work practices for direct client care. This assessment is designed to be assessed prior to the commencement of assessment 2, 3 & 4 as it provides students with the underpinning knowledge required to be able to carry out the practical assessments competently. How it should be used The assessment is NOT designed for students to be assessed in an exam type situation. In order to complete the assessment questions, the student will need access to: • Student Learning Materials • Policies and Procedures • Internet • Any other source of relevant information Students are required to read and respond to each of the questions in the assessment. Any incorrect or incomplete responses must be returned to the student with feedback to allow them to resubmit. Benchmark answers are provided in the assessment for each question. The answers are an example only and can be subject to the discretion of the teacher. However, please note these materials are carefully mapped to the Training Package and as such, answers should satisfy the requirements that the Marking Guide sets out. If the institution has their own workplace policies and procedures and template reports for these areas, they can be used in place of Support by SDL documents. However, please note the policies and procedures have been carefully mapped to the Training Package and have been written so that they are a source document for Assessment 1, 2, 3 & 4. Knowledge Questions Safety in the workplace 1.

Write down the meaning of the following WHS signs, and one (1) place where you may commonly find them.
