9th October 2020 Dear Parents and Carers, The end of term is fast approaching and, as always, Parents Consultation Day will take place on the final Friday before half term. The date this year is 23rd October and the school is closed to children on this day. Teachers are really looking forward to speaking to you via a telephone call about how your child has settled in to their new class, the progress they are making and their targets for further development. Please take time to read the letter that was sent by SchoolPing explaining the process. I have tried to think of ways in which our children can enjoy a hot meal in the school dining hall whilst maintaining social distancing expectations. Unfortunately, the time that it would take for every class to sit and eat their lunch whilst social distancing and then for tables and chairs to be cleaned between classes would result in lunchtime taking over 2.5 hours to complete. Obviously, this is unworkable for many reasons so I have liaised with ISS Catering to develop a hot menu that can be eaten in class safety. The menu will begin straight after half term and I hope children will find it tasty.

I am more than happy for parents and children to drop off items at school and I will happily take them to Wanstead Cricket Club on 17th/18th October on your behalf. Thank you if you are able to support with this. Thank you Mr Ford Headteacher

They estimated the amount of metres that they thought they would no longer be able to hear the sound. They thought about ensuring the test was fair by keeping all of the other factors the same. Achievement Award Children

Using the Reading Journals in Years 3,4,5 and 6 When you’re reading with your child, use their Reading Journals to make notes and jot down any vocabulary that they found tricky or would like to use in their own writing. Collecting vocabulary and ideas like this has been shown to have a positive impact on their writing. Here are some samples:
