Book Review by TM Pankaj Singhal Do you feel you are not getting time to do what you want to do? Do you think all your time is wasted doing small things? I think you should read the book. In the book, Author has divided all the tasks we do into a matrix and how we can change our view about how we spend our time and how can best utilize the limited time we all have. The matrix is called Time Management Matrix.
We often find ourself in a situation of managing crisis because we think we should prioritise tasks which are urgent and important (Quadrant I) e.g. deadline driven projects, medical emergencies etc. and we keep postponing tasks which are important but not urgent e.g. excecing daily, learning something which we love to do etc. (Quadrant II) How true it is, isn’t it. Often we ignore things not urgent and find ourself caught in a situation where we have to do those things because they have become urgent else we won’t survive.

Impetus to Inspire 2015 It reminds me one very important task which is important but not urgent. Many of us want to develop public speaking skills but since it is not urgent, it gets de-prioritised by tasks which are urgent like finishing the tasks with daily deadline. Toastmaster is one such platform which can help us improve our public speaking skills but we think we can do it anytiime, so whats the hurry. There are many such thought provoking situations covered in the book which will introspect. I am talking about “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen R. Covey. Please do read to find more.
