Mount Kenya University (MKU) is an International Chartered University committed to a broad base, holistic and inclusive system of Education. As part of its strategic goal in supplementing government effort to provide affordable and quality Education towards nation building, the University offers Open Distance and Electronic Learning (ODEL) to improve the Education levels of the populace in Rwanda geared towards attaining high income jobs and wealth creation. The key benefit of MKU ODEL Education accessibility is communication technology which is used to bridge the gap between students and teachers. This means one can access MKU ODEL in any part of the country at any time of their convenience using ultra-portable devices such as smart phones, tablets and laptops.

Our ODEL programmes are designed to equip you with skills that will help you be competitive in the work place today. The University is a collaborating partner of Sakai Digital Platform of USA. The platform serves upwards of 1.25 million students in the USA and 4 million globally. This number includes students studying online at Mount Kenya University in Rwanda. Within a single platform the MKU ODEL supports virtually any type of instructional approach, including elements of the Educational experience that are unique to specific programmes. Our exceptional team of technical support staff helps students to navigate the platform.

WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR APPLICATION
Once we receive your application, it will be handled by the relevant admissions staff for your chosen degree programme. The admission team will carefully review the information you have given in your application, your academic record and referees to ensure you meet our entry requirements. Securing entry to Mount Kenya University is competitive. Each application is treated individually and on merit and how long it takes to process will depend on personal circumstances and your chosen degree course. It is therefore important to complete your application with great care (Mount Kenya University reserves the right to withdraw any offer if the information on the application is inaccurate or incomplete).
VERIFICATION OF QUALIFICATIONS
All those applying to join the University must verify their academic transcripts through the Rwanda Notary Authorization f or one to be admitted. Where necessary, one might be requested for equivalence from the Higher Education Council of Rwanda (HEC).
