Statesboro Campus Information PARKING PERMITS
SOUTHERN EXPRESS SHUTTLES
Parking permits are sold on a first-come first-serve basis. Students with a lot preference should purchase their permits as early as possible. Your license plate is your parking permit and needs to be visible at all times. Backing in or pulling through parking spaces is not allowed. Students may purchase a parking permit by logging onto My.GeorgiaSouthern.edu and clicking on the “Parking Permits & Citations” link under Parking & Transportation header, or in person at the Parking and Transportation office. All unpaid citations must be paid prior to purchasing a permit. Be sure to double-check that your license plate information is correct before applying for a permit.
RESIDENTIAL STUDENT PARKING Students living on the Statesboro Campus have a residential parking permit reserved for them corresponding to their specific residence hall designated lot. These students should purchase their permits before arriving for Operation Move-In. When visiting the Armstrong Campus, Statesboro Campus residents may park in any commuter lot. Residential Lots: $160/year All students who reside in Residence Halls on-campus will be restricted to their assigned residential parking areas and the RAC.
COMMUTER PARKING Commuter parking is located throughout Georgia Southern University’s campuses. Designated lots can be found near major academic buildings and areas of high traffic. Carpool parking permits are available at a reduced rate and can be shared among several vehicles. There is no permit required for Liberty Campus. When visiting the Armstrong Campus, Statesboro Campus commuters may park in any commuter lot. Commuter Lots: 11, 13, 21, 29, 30-32, 41, 42 permits are $160/year. Commuter Lot 12 and the RAC lot permits are $110/year. There is no charge to park at Paulson Stadium. Permits are lot-specific. Permit holders can utilize 30-minute parking between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Motorcycle permits are $50/year. Student Carpooling: $110/year Commuting students will be able to share the cost of the permit and the expense of parking on campus. Car pools must have two or more members.
VISITORS AND GUESTS Visitors may register their vehicle for a temporary pass for $2 per day by visiting the Parking & Transportation Office. Students may not park in visitor spaces for any reason.

Our shuttle service runs across the Statesboro Campus during classes, final exams, football game days and spring commencement. The shuttle service does not run when classes are not in session, during holidays or between semesters. Shuttles run between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays.
ENFORCEMENT All parking rules and regulations are strictly enforced on the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses to keep roadways and parking lots safe for everyone. All commuter, faculty/staff and time zone lots are enforced from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays when classes are in session. All Residential lots as well as reserved spaces (ie. ADA, President, Dean, etc.) are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you receive a citation and do not understand why, please contact us and we will be glad to explain why you received the citation.
E-CITATION Beginning Fall of 2020, parking enforcement will start issuing paperless parking tickets. Instead of printing citations and placing them on each vehicle found in violation, LPR units will send an email to their GS email address notifying students, faculty or staff that their vehicle was ticketed. Owners of unregistered vehicles will be identified by a third-party DMV check and a bill will be mailed to them. A Boot/Tow Warning will be sent electronically if a vehicle is found with two or more unpaid citations. Unregistered vehicles will have a Boot/Tow Warning taped to the window. A vehicle that has received a warning is subject to booting/towing after 24 hours if citations remain unpaid.
Parking and Transportation on the Statesboro Campus has partnered with Zipcar to provide students with a convenient and easy way to rent a vehicle for occasional transportation around Statesboro and beyond. The car-sharing service includes access to on-campus vehicles, gas and insurance. Drivers who are 18+ are eligible to use the service which is limited to Georgia Southern students, faculty and staff. Zipcar members can reserve cars for as little as an hour or up to four days via smartphone or online. Find out more about our Zipcar program at zipcar.com/GeorgiaSouthern.

11. If you have three or more unpaid citations on your account you do not have to be in violation to receive a boot or have your vehicle towed. This includes parking at Paulson Stadium.
10. Three unpaid parking citations will place you on the list of vehicles to be booted (immobilized). If your vehicle is booted, all outstanding citations must be paid, and a fee for booting your vehicle will be added to your account.
9. If you don't know why you received a citation or have a parking related question, please contact the Parking and Transportation Office.
8. All parking lots are signed at the entrance to designate who is allowed to park in that lot. This indicates that the entire lot is what is announced on the entrance sign, unless otherwise noted. If it is noted otherwise, signs with arrows will clearly identify these other areas.
7. There are 30 minute spaces strategically placed around campus for your use to conduct business. This does not include visitor spaces.
6. Faculty/Staff parking spaces are strictly enforced until 4 p.m. There are some spaces reserved for Faculty/Staff 24/7 near the Zach Henderson Library on the Statesboro Campus. These spaces are clearly marked, so pay close attention to signage.
5. Commuter lots (numbered lots) are strictly enforced until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
4. Residence Halls (lettered lots) are strictly enforced 24/7.
3. Know where your permit allows you to park.
2. If you bring a car to campus, you must register your vehicle and purchase a permit. Please contact our department for pricing options.
1. Please be very careful when typing your license plate information. Our License Plate Recognition (LPR) software relies on your correct license plate data to avoid citations.
