RWANDA COOPERATION INITIATIVE
INTRODUCTION Rwanda Cooperation Initiative (RCI) was created as a “Single Window Access” for Home Grown Solutions and Public Sector Expertise services to ensure effective management, prompt response of foreign requests and institute a cost recovery mechanism. For the last decade, many African countries have been interested in learning and seeking Rwanda’s expertise in various sectors in order to apply them to their own development journey. RCI will play a major role in strengthening cooperation in the Global South for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
MISSION RCI provides self-sustaining mechanisms to share and promote Rwanda’s Home Grown Solutions and Public Sector Expertise to the Global South for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
VISION To play an active role in the South-South Cooperation through knowledge sharing
MANDATE Receive, consolidate, analyze and approve study visits, advisory services and project implementation requests in consultation with relevant GoR institutions. Work with relevant GoR ministries and institutions to develop and provide customized solutions for respective foreign parties. Provide where necessary Rwandan experts to work alongside their foreign counterparts to implement specific projects and to share the know-how.
Establish a database of Public Sector and HGS experts. Conduct post mission evaluation from visitors and hosts, inform future engagement, service improvement and proper follow up. Institute a cost recovery mechanism for Public Sector Expertise and HGS services.
