What Trash Pumps Can Do Trash pumps are a preferred choice for dewatering applications thanks to their versatility and ability to handle more significant amounts of debris. A trash pump has thicker vanes and can accommodate waste measuring 0.75 to 1.25 inches, making it ideal for treating thicker and sandier liquids. Trash pumps can be used for removing excess water from a reservoir or basin after a flash flood. These machines can keep water moving despite rock fragments and other solid matter hiding beneath the surface. Choosing the wrong type of water pump may result in unsatisfactory pump performance and potential damage to the machine’s components. Knowing the right kind of pump for the nature of liquid being pumped can make the pumping job more efficient.
