As a new member to the Sandhurst Executive team I would firstly like to thank everyone for the warm welcome I have received. Being a resident and wife to a golfing enthusiast I knew how special the Sandhurst community was, but since joining I have had the pleasure of meeting so many more members who are passionate and dedicated to the wonderful Club we all love to live and play in. It has been an exciting time around the Club of late. The warmer weather has arrived and it was wonderful to see everyone bask in the sun at our first Sunday Tunes on the Piazza. Our Showcase Dinners continue to shine with our recent gin dinner sold out well in advance. Be sure to get in quick if you don’t want to miss our next Showcase featuring Australian and French sparklings. Which will be your favourite?. The community spirit was alive over Halloween. With over 110 participants our 6th annual Freaky Fun Run was a morning full of fun for all. We then saw hundreds of families take to the streets of Sandhurst on Halloween night.

Bellrock Security update Is your home secure for the holiday season? Using some of the below tips will help to keep your home secure if you’re planning on heading away this holiday season. Use a variable light timer to make it seem like you are home. If you don’t already have one, think about installing a motion activated light at your door. Use timers to water the lawn while you’re gone. If you’ll be gone a long time, consider hiring someone to upkeep what you normally take care of yourself. Lock all car doors, park your car in the garage, or get a friend to drive it periodically to prevent cobweb build-up that could tempt burglars. Find a way to keep your mail from piling up - you can hold it at the post office, forward it, ask a friend or Security to pick it up for you. Whatever you normally do with your curtains and blinds, leave them that way. A suddenly curtained and shuttered house may draw attention, and if you’ve blocked the view into your house, burglars will have privacy while they’re up to no good. Move expensive items out of view from your windows.

Make sure doors are locked. This includes your pet doors if you have any. If you normally keep a spare key outside move it while you’re gone. Notify Bellrock Security, they can arrange extra patrols to check on your house while you’re gone. Don’t announce that you’re going away on holiday to the world. Depending on your social media settings, think about waiting to post holiday pictures until you’re back.
