Speak out your Heart
President’s Note
TM Jana
I wasn’t a good speaker at all. All I could manage to say in my first speech in 6th std. was “THANK YOU”. In fact I was very shy, afraid of holding the mike and addressing an audience of even 5 people. But over a period of time, things have changed for me. And now I feel more confident and love public speaking. When I look back at my journey of public speaking, below is what I could comprehend and generalize. At start of every new activity, may be first time speech delivery, first time addressing a huge audience or first time writing such an exam, or first time riding a bicycle etc., most of us feel nervousness, discomfort and butterflies. And if that is the very first time you are doing such a thing, then chances of nervousness are even more. What do you think all of this is? Brain tries to find out all relevant past experiences of this sort. It processes the information, makes a mix and match and comes up with an action plan, or a GO or NO-GO decision. Since our brain is designed to take protective actions all the time, it gives instructions to whole body to flee away in times of difficult situations. And that’s when we start shivering, sweating, which are nothing but symptoms to run away. The nervousness is basically the fight between the heart which is to take a current decision, and the brain which produces statistics of past data experience and the result. Thus, if it’s a compulsion event, we still go ahead and do it, though may not be a good result. And if an optional thing, and if past experience has not been good enough, chances are high that we blackouts. At this point of time, let your heart take a decision to stand strong and face the challenge. Irrespective of result, this information & decision taken, goes back to brain for repository.
Speak out your Heart...contd. Next time, you come on to stage, your brain would come up with statistics- “You have attempted similar situation once before and you failed/succeeded”. And our confidence level is directly dependent on this statistics. This time also, let your heart make a bold decision to stay back on stage and deliver the speech. Your decision and outcome, again goes back to brain for storage. For third time, there is no more a conflict between your heart and brain, about standing on stage. Hence we obviously feel confident. Now comes the next parameter of No of audience. During all your previous speeches, if you have faced a smaller audience of say around 30, and this time you need to face a bigger audience of say 100 people, again the same principle applies. Your brain says, “every time before you haven’t addressed such a big audience. So run away from stage.” Allow your heart to take a bold decision to face it. From next time onwards, 100 becomes an easy number for your brain to handle. Till recently, I had addressed an audience of 250 people and felt confident. But during my latest address at an engineering college, I had 450+ people. I allowed my heart to take an absolute decision to face it and it was one of my best speeches till date. With complete audience support and cheer all around, it indeed was a mesmerizing event to cherish. Now, 450 is a number I can easily handle and be comfortable with. And the next challenge of even bigger audience awaits. In reality, our brain is just a fast statistical analyzer and data processor, and heart is the real time decision maker. We view ourselves as ruled by brain and not by heart. Most of us have a notion that brain takes all the decisions and heart is constantly responding to “orders” sent by the brain in the form of neural signals. However, it is not as commonly known that the heart actually sends stronger signals to the brain than the brain sends to the heart. Brain thinks of 1000 possibilities. But these are not reality. They are just interpretation of reality OR one of the many similar situations we faced earlier, knowingly or unknowingly. But all decisions are taken by heart. If we overrule the brain’s suggestion and take an independent decision at heart, that’s what we call as GUT FEEL. To conclude, all the members of toastmasters and new joiners, utilize every opportunity in meetings to speak. As conveyed before, there is a tendency to backout when given a new challenge and that’s normal. But what makes you a more confident speaker is you letting your heart take a decision to stand tall and deliver your speech. So, choose to speak your heart. Cheers

Emotional Transformation My journey in toastmasters till date was indeed transformational. Just like in metamorphosis there is a transformation from an immature form to an adult form, I have indeed grown to be a matured human being today.
DTM Sudha Balaji
If the caterpillar never went through this process of change, it would never achieve its great destiny and become its most glorious self, we can reach our great destinies by changing what needs to be changed. Just like a caterpillar each one of us has to struggle to get our way to become what we are destined to. One has to experience the entire struggle, take hard decisions on their own, learn from their mistakes and observe only then he or she can fly up to be a beautiful butterfly. If he or she expects help from others in each junction of his journey as a leader then he will be crippled and dead. It is said that a Leader is the one who goes where there is no path and leaves a trail, for that one has to: Try to be clear and focused. Empower others to own the idea. Every facet of TM, be it training or contests, events or elections are a learning in itself. Each time you listen to some one speak you get to know a new thing which you have never heard. Each time to conduct any education session or training you learn how to be better and excel in each aspect of organization and planning.
EXPLORE. DREAM. DISCOVER.

On the banks of a river, The Buddha met an ascetic who was rejoicing in all his glory. On inquiring the ascetic looked at the Buddha and said, “Oh Noble One, for the past 30 years I have been living a life of austerity and penance all to cross the river barefoot. Today is the day of the reckoning, for after 30 years of perfecting, today I can proudly testify that I am the only man in this town who can walk barefoot on the water and cross the river.” The Buddha smiled and said, “You have wasted 30 years of your life. The ferry boat driver could have taken you to the other side of the river for a penny”. In the ocean of communication, there are a few who like to swim the entire distance or “Talk the talk” all by themselves. There are some who would like to walk the distance or “walk the talk “. But there are some who not only talk the talk, walk the talk, but decide not to climb the ladder of success, but take the elevator. They are the chosen few who call themselves Toastmasters. Toastmasters is the ferry boat that will take you across the rivers of uncertainty in communication, make you cross the islands of self doubt, by empowering you with well researched and time tested oars that will row you to the banks of success. All you have to do is be a good passenger and enjoy the journey.
I have been a toastmaster from my first year of college. The movement has ferried me through the waters of communication and leadership taking me to the banks of success both personally and professionally. Every meeting is a pleasant journey of learning.
EXPLORE. DREAM. DISCOVER…contd.. In a recent research, young executives were asked to make a comprehensive bucket list (the things to be done before one breathes his/her last). The findings went on to show that a sizeable portion of those quizzed had “Travel to exotic locations” as one of the items on the list.
Most people love to travel, explore and experience. Like the wise man said, “Travel broadens the mind and excites your soul”. So a lot of people perhaps would love to live life with that motto. But perhaps the greatest journey, the greatest exploration is the one on the inside. The inner journey is perhaps the most fascinating of all journeys. When you are empowered on the inside, it is easy to face the world on the outside. So what are you waiting for? If you have not yet jumped into the boat that will ferry you to the land of self realization and success, then it’s high time you did. Mark Twain put it beautifully “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
Mentor’s Note Toastmasters is a very successful program. But as with all self-paced programs, you get out of it what you put in.

Also, from my experience, the club quality does have a significant impact on improvement as well. If you are in a club that doesn't do very good evaluations or doesn't have enough speaking slots, you may not see results. Wipro EC Friday Toastmasters club has always ensured that quality is all time high when you attend any one of the sessions held at EC, Bangalore campus. However, if you are in a good club (WEFT) and you dedicate yourself to the program, it is one of the most effective ways out there to improve public speaking ability. Mix that with real-life experience, such as doing workshops, teaching, or having meetings as a manager or community organizer, and it's amazing what a difference it makes. In my personal experience, I came to Toastmasters to hone my speaking skills. I have been on TV in the past and thought I should do better in my program for the viewing public and was starting to get interview requests. I joined to help learn to think on my feet and learn better speaking habits to sound good on radio and TV. But then I realized that it was so much more than that. I not only learned how to be a better speaker on my feet, but how to do my work better, how to teach better, how to give better feedback, how to communicate better with my family and friends, how to better deal with conflict, how to better organize a group, how to better motivate people, how to better put together an event…. the list goes on and on. I'm currently a DTM and was past Division Governor of the district 82. I would never have considered myself leadership material before I joined toastmasters. I was always wanted to be back stage! There is always something to learn. Even though I have one of the highest possible awards in the program, I'm still learning and trying new things. I recommend it to anyone. But in order for this all to happen, it does take finding your goal in Wipro EC Toast masters club and putting effort into the program of Toast Masters journey. And I wish you Good luck!

From the first meeting on June 21st 2013 to 175th meeting, WiproEC Friday toastmasters club has grown older and wiser and we, being constantly evolving from this fantabulous platform have grown younger and smarter. I still remember the day me and my friend, Anupam, approached Dr. Abhijeet Bhaduri, chief learning officer, Wipro Limited, with a proposal to start a Toastmasters club at Wipro. He was impressed with the idea and directed us to Mr. Yogesh Agiwal, who used to head the Talent transformation unit of Wipro. Mr. Yogesh got so fascinated with this idea that he suggested to start club for each day of the week. And that is how, WiproEC ‘Friday’ toastmasters club was born. And that sets the expectation from the new leaders of this vibrant club. You have a long road to cover. It is said, if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then you have justified your leadership capabilities. I believe as human beings, each one of us possess this capability. The only effort that we need to put from our end is to identify and utilize this capability to make a difference in other’s lives. Toastmasters facilitates this platform to bring out the leader in each one of us. The energy and the positivity that one gets in a toastmasters club environment is of immense value. And in my personal opinion, Wipro toastmasters club is the best place to spend your Friday evenings. Yogesh sir always said that you have to make this club as the best in the world. Well, I am not sure about best in the world but yes, we have been able to make this as one of the best clubs in District 92. Kudos to all the members, club officers, ex-presidents, mentors, and sponsors for their immense efforts in making this club reach this spot. Thank you leaders of TMI & District 92 for providing us this wonderful stage that has been impacting many lives. I give my best wishes to the existing club officers and upcoming officers and hope that they will take the flag even higher. Keep speaking! Keep leading & keep shining!
LIVE BY HEART Sufi Saint Rumi once remarked, there are lot of ways to reach the supreme…and his was love. He was clear.
TM Naveen Chandra
I observed there are two distinct ways of living or approaches to life. Both ways can give us the success we dream deserve or strive far. I call them, living by heart and the living by Mind. Surprisingly, I also noticed, majority does not follow either of them, they tries to take best out of both the ways and makes the third one. I call this living by diplomacy. Let me elaborate on my understanding. First one - Live by Heart. These people are simple, they believe what has been told. They don’t need logical answers to accept what is beyond their imagination. Generally, happy, serene, lively, sings, dances expresses themselves comfortably and completely. Almost less ifs and buts about life, lesser shouting’s and generally operate less than 100% of their capacity. They believe life happens to them and their plan is plan of the nature. Good examples? Look at kids between 4 – 7 years, they don’t care much about what is around, simply sings, and dances comfortably. Better example, then look at people who are in love, true love cannot happen by mind. They think life is about managing themselves and the people around. The success they dream will elude them life time. They remain mediocre, they don’t invest on their own belief, because they have nothing of their own. Mostly a way of mass, the followers. Good examples?
LIVE BY HEART...contd.. Politicians who can change overnight the parties. Better example, look at married couple after few years, they don’t rub each other in wrong side. They know by experience what works or not. Is this too much to digest??... The good, bad and the ugly…, let me simplify. Having understood these variants,
Path we should pick is the path where the end and means are together every minute; massage and the messenger cannot be different. We become what we repeatedly do. Do we live in confidence, do we need someone to reassure on our plans, does opinion of others matters most than our own, are we expressing fully and do we love sincerely?? Answers for all these questions comes to us naturally if we are aligned with our hearts. How many of you want to live by heart…? Do we somewhere believe that we still have plenty of time on earth? Which is only an illusion … The beauty of heart of living is we grow to become younger day by day, sparkle in the eyes becomes brighter and smile never ends. True success happens, when our conscience aligns with the heart. We are made. No more turning back. No more if and buts, and no more opinion of others matters When that happens, we realize, even if we die next moment we are at peace And Heart is same for everyone, including that of supreme, then will that tomorrow really matters? True success happens, when our conscience aligns with the heart. We are made. No more turning back. No more if and buts, and no more opinion of others matters. When that happens, we realize, even if we die next moment we are at peace And Heart is same for everyone, including that of supreme, then will that tomorrow really matters? Yes, Rumi was clear.
SOME BATTLES CAN’T BE PUT ON HOLD GOD may sometimes bestow you very short span of time to test your resilience against odds where “Your battles can’t be put on hold”. Once such occurrence recently happened in my life as well.
TM Kaif
After completing my challenging and rewarding educational journey, I knocked the corridor and entered into the arena of corporate world but my heart & mind were frequently whispering to me for last 10 years, “I see something is missing in you but don’t know, what it is?” Fortunately, or unfortunately, one day I got to know about one of the organization helping members for public speaking, that’s Toastmasters. My heart & mind blissfully whispered to me again, “It was the only something that was missing.” I attended Toastmasters meeting as guest in February 2016, that was amazing. The day, Toastmasters president also announced about upcoming “International Speech Contest” scheduled on 11th March 2016. I excitedly joined Toastmasters on 16th Feb to participate in International speech contest but suddenly got to know that I would need to first complete 6 CCs milestones before it. It was impossible to successfully complete 6 CC speeches just in remaining 3 weeks. Everyone should enjoy PRESENT as well as FUTURE but my passionate heart decided to enjoy unbeatable challenge in present and not to wait for future. I mustered my courage not to put this challenge on hold. That’s great, my 1st unknown battle got over. I started preparing my scripts, speeches and even working day & night for these besides my official hectic schedules & critical works. Meeting and Calling my best mentors Sumesh Punjani and Tharun Kumar whenever needed. CC1 and CC2 wasn’t a hurdle for me but real challenge & difficulties were CC2 onward.
SOME BATTLES CAN’T BE PUT ON HOLD...contd.. CC3 is about “Get to the point”, yes! As per me, I was always to the point but in Toastmasters, we need to get to the point for each objectives while preparing, delivering and even while evaluation. Meanwhile getting prize for best speaker was boosting my courage in parallel. The next up was CC4, which demands “How to say it”. I was always telling people my points correctly but here needed not to keep sentences & expression single but needed to perfectly mingle both together. After drafting my speech and practicing, I put my most difficult skills, that is emotion wherever needed. Continuing my uphill journey CC5 was “How your body speaks” – I felt, “how can my body speak? I am not an actor; why do I need it?” Yes, body should speak in Toastmasters. Oh, how painful it is, for a reserve & introvert person like me? It’s like transforming impossible to possible. I harnessed my body language by my endless practices days & nights. Further my semi-finals CC6 was all about “Vocal variety”. Vocal variety that’s another great hindrance and challenge for me. How can anyone have different vocal varieties like a child as well as like an old man in a single speech? But it gives audience, a pleasant vocal experience like nightingale. “Practice makes a man perfect” is the thumb rule for this and helped me as well. Thanks God, my 2nd battle got over. Finally, and fortunately, my never-die-attitude, motivation for learning and seeing my family members clapping in my 2016 international speech, landed me to the 3rd battle, International speech contest. I performed my best and people were appreciating a lot for my exemplary public speaking transformation. It was lifetime amazing experience but I couldn't succeed for area level but it is already logged in my life, somewhere, some-year and someday I would win its world level final. Toastmasters groomed me for becoming a better public speaker just in 3 weeks and 6 speeches through my continuous efforts, determination and devotion, this journey would still continue to become the best of me. But most importantly, it made me practically learn, “Why some battles can’t be put on hold? And How to conquer such painful future battles?”
THE PREFERENCE
TM Tharun Kumar
Have you ever wondered when you feel like having a burger, you at times prefer not to have a burger? You say yourself a strict ‘No’ and walk off! The reason for saying ‘no’ is you value long term good health more than the desire for the moment. But do you think all such preferences are driven by a value? I was at home on a recent bandh holiday, I thought of spending the time engaging myself with my hobby of Cooking. I picked up a couple of potatoes and cut them long and straight and started frying them. When I finished a few rounds of frying I left them on a plate. My Niece Tanushee 3 Yrs old a fan of potatoes who would do anything for a preference of the moment ran to the plate from nowhere and picked up the hot pieces of potato with bare hands!! In a split second she started screaming with a burnt hand. In an instant my mom, dad, sister everyone rounded her with my mom trying cold water on her hand and then some wheat flour based on a treatment learnt from WhatsApp forward ;)! Meanwhile my mom carrying her opened the fridge to pick up an ice cube. With the fridge door opened while my mom was removing the ice tray, my niece screamed again ‘STAAAR SHAPE!’ and cried again. In midst of all the agony of a burnt hand she preferred to pick up a star shaped ice rather an ice cube to hold in hand and avoid a blister. We all burst into laughter at her innocent preference. While she did enjoy the attention, it lead me to a thought how often we stick to our preferences that are not driven by any values and lose out on accomplishing greater things that we can! If your preference is to visit a Toastmasters club on Friday evening, you must be a person who values learning and fun! Such preferences are required yet rare. Next time if you prefer something see if you can connect back to what you value? If it does connect back to anything that you value, your preference for the moment may just not be worth it. It does not matter if the ice is a cube or of star shaped it does help avoid the blister. Just see if one of the ready options fulfills your purpose and go ahead and avoid giving an undue attention to a preference!
TOASTMASTER JOURNEY
TM Navin Kornaya
I had heard about Toastmaster club before, but hadn’t given it much of a thought before joining Wipro. During one of the classroom trainings, I learnt more about the club and the benefits of attending the meetings.
I immediately sent a mail, enquiring about the details of the club, cost of membership. In the toastmaster club, there is a facility wherein members could attend the meeting to experience the meeting and then later make the payment if interested. As luck would have it I misunderstood this and I made the payment and attended my first meeting on Friday. Only in the meeting I came to know the we could pay later. And as someone told me that I was probably the only person who had paid for the membership without attending even one meeting. I was happy that atleast I became unique in this respect. In the first meeting I was just a spectator and contributed only when one speaker on stage asked an opinion of how to promote toastmaster within Wipro. I ensured that I attend every meeting, and slowly started taking different roles and trying to make it interesting, to myself. I then gave my CC1 speech and I was happy and thrilled to see a standing ovation for the speech. During the upcoming meetings, I took up almost all the roles, except for MOC, TTM and managed to deliver 2 more speeches. I always thought that I wouldn’t be able to take up these 2 roles as this required speaking and thinking on one’s feet. I finally mustered the courage and took up the TTM role. I thought about the topics and searched few websites on how to conduct the session. I was voted as the Best Role Taker, which really thrilled me and I was excited, but I still had apprehensions of the MOC role.
TOASTMASTER JOURNEY...contd.. Finally, I took up the MOC role, I prepared for the role, by first writing the script and then practicing it for more than a week. I went to the extent of rehearsing the script when I was doing my other errands. Again after the meeting I was voted as Best Role taker, now all my apprehensions of the role vanished.
After attending all these meetings, I realized the secret of a good speech is to write down the script and then practice it number of times to make it a perfect one. It is possible that you will forget few lines you intended to say but only you and your mentor would know that, so why worry. The best part of the club is that no one present is there to put you down or defame you, but are eager to help you without asking anything in return. Even today whenever I see the 3 Green and 2 Blue ribbons I have got for Best Role taker and Best speech, I feel happy and strive for getting more such ribbons. Overall this journey has been an enriching experience in the toastmaster clubs, where I have improved my communication skills and also made some good friends.
PAINFUL STATION
TM Vinayak
Tickets were booked for my parents on tatkal for Rani Chennamma train on 7th May. Train Departed as per schedule at 5:10pm from Ghataprabha railway station. The train arrival time was 7am at KRS Bangalore station. I drove to station from KIOCL colony Koramangala to pick my parents from the station by 6:20 am itself. Before I could reach the station, I received a call from my father, saying train has stopped at station near to Tumkur and shall take some more time to reach Bangalore. I felt like, "ohh no, another waiting". I reached to the platform 8 by 6:50am and parked my car at the newly constructed building's basement. I received a call again from my father around 7:00 am, “Vinayak, train is now at Tumkur and has halted here already more than its allowed time". I was thinking must be some railway junction crossing delay. After 30 minutes, my father called me for 3rd time, “ Train is now at Gubbi station to be precise and the train engine seems having a glitch, so our train might get replaced with another engine to start moving. I saw the Electronic arrival display, it was showing 8:40 am as expected arrival time. In the mean time, I purchased a Deccan Herald news paper , started going through it. Time passed, the latest arrival time now showing 9:40am. After much await, I see the train finally arrived at 10am on platform 9. I crossed under the bridge from platform 8 to 9, as I was expecting train to arrive at platform 8 initially. As trained chugged and stopped , I moved towards coach S4 and saw my parents in the compartment. My father already with luggage lined up over the seat handed over them from train window itself. There were 9 bags in total and two of them were very heavy. I found a Porter to carry the 2 heaviest bags (weighing closely 30 kgs) I felt pity for the porter, who agreed to carry them for 150 rupees till the platform 8 car park. We walked to underground basement from platform 9, again taking those steps to walk and climb towards platform 8 to exit. Thoughts came to my mind, Bangalore is called as silicon valley of the country, how much has it cared for its citizens well being. I felt pained to see my old aged parent to take those stairs all the way up and down just to move from one platform to another to exit.
PAINFUL STATION...contd.. I could see an escalator on the other side of basement but that too was blocked with heavy concrete cement step blocks. As an IT city of the country , Do our citizens not entitled for smooth movement in railway station with electric staircases? an easily accessible lifts from platform basement to ground floor? Why a senior citizen has to suffer with luggage in their hands, climbing those stairs up and down. Like how metro stations in a city are arranged with electric escalators, why can’t the same be arranged for Bangalore railway station? Can’t we have easily accessible functional lift system in place? It was heavy rush on the platform and there was hardly any way to move with the luggage after much huffing and puffing, we exited the platform and arrived to newly built building in front of platform-8 . To my surprise there was no lift reach to ground floor, and I felt, how could a new building was planned without a lift for aged citizens, who have to move with heavy luggage, I felt sick about the authorities involved in the design and construction plan. Felt sad for my parents to take all those steps from ground floor to basement of car park. The car park in basement was fully muddled with cement powder on ground, adding more to our woes. I felt irritation in my nostril, I could feel cement particles floating in air. Porter exhausted with the luggage, finally felt relieved, after dropping those luggage in my car. I paid him his service fee of 150 Rs. I exited the basement only to be stopped by gatekeeper to collect the parking fee. I was already agitated with the inconvenience, asked the gatekeeper, “why should I pay the parking fee when you are keeping the parking place so dirty with cement powder lying everywhere. My cloth and luggage have all become dirty” The gatekeeper seems least bothered, and kept asking to pay the parking fee. I raised my voice, give me the in charge contact of this place and let me talk to him. He called his senior colleague Ramaiyya, who was just hoping to clear the blockage I created at the exit end. He was also least bothered to hear my complaint. I paid 10 Rupees which Ramaiyya just took without asking much , asking me to move. I was drenched in sweat, decided to leave the place, without adding any more argument. I was thinking while driving back, why such an apathy towards public amenities without proper convenience and arrangements. Another thought flashed to my mind, if my own country people has to suffer so much, why somebody from other country take holiday and come to India on vacation to suffer. If this situation is continued like this, our tourism would never ever flourish from its current state. Its time authorities wake up and provide best of the service to people commuting with their loved ones. I Hope to reach Suresh Prabhu, our current railway minister at center, and pass this message about apathetic, unfriendly facilities at Bangalore city railway station.
Message From Education Desk TM Vineesh And TM Beata
“A Goal without a Plan is just a Wish” - The Term was started with the mission of “Adding value” to each member of the Club and with the vision of becoming the “#1 Club” in District 92. With these clear vision and mission in mind, we understood and made sure the needs, expectations and goals of each of the club members who joined the club are in place. We planned the calendar with Joint Meetings, Educational Sessions and the Grand celebration Meetings well in advance. We had Joint Meetings with other clubs followed by a party which was fun and we had a good networking with other club members. The Educational sessions conducted by the Top notch speakers brought in more ideas on how to craft our speech effectively and deliver humorously. The iRISE2.0 was upgraded to encourage the club members for their outstanding performance and achievements towards their goal. The Mystory is a unique session that was introduced by the Educational team and it was inspiring to hear personal stories of the members. It helped them more to craft their next speeches too. This term saw the members coming up eagerly for there speech slots. We are working to make our plan happen to reach the vision and mission we have.
Message From Membership Desk TM Archana And TM Mayank
Holding the position of a third-ranking officer in Toastmasters, is indeed a great privilege in itself because it brings forth the toughest and most interesting challenge of keeping the membership numbers up. It is vital to the club growth in terms of quality and also to promote fellowship among all. With the numbers up, any guest who wishes to express his thoughts for the first time would definitely experience a great sense of motivation and positivity. It is equally important to make a guest/ member feel important and make sure that he/she is heard, which would in turn bring them back wanting for more. Being a Vice President-Membership for the first time, I found it difficult to convert the guests to members and that’s when my mentor put forth a wonderful definition in front of me. He told me, “Your role as a VP-M is not just to list out the benefits of Toastmasters to the guests, instead think the other way round. Try to understand a person more and keeping his/her interests in mind, look from a perspective how Toastmasters can bring a difference in their lives. This would not only increase your membership count, but also help you create a personal connect with the people around you, and who knows, you might find your best buddy in the process”. With the above goal set by my mentor, I found a ray of hope to deal with the challenges and now I look forward to contribute a small portion for the growth of my club, both in terms of quantity and quality.

There are so many new and innovative PR campaign methods that came into picture. One of them is - Wipro BUZZ campaign to notify on the special events held at WECFTM Club regularly via mails. Many members voluntarily participated in preparing the flyers/ Posters for the Wipro Buzz. This process has really helped the club in bringing more people and spreading the awareness on Toastmasters activities at the campus. At the recent PR campaigns through common platform at T-17 Ground floor, in which many Members from the club along with VPPR and AVPPR interacted with Wiproites by displaying the upcoming event flyers. This method has helped us collect the contact details of public speaking and leadership enthusiasts to share with them the weekly club event details. his too has helped the club immensely in getting more members charted. Not only above, the Newsletter process as released every quarter by the WECFTM club has s collection of personal stories and experiences of TM Members and guests to spread the word among Wiproites and other club members. This has given more insights to many nonmembers of the club and to toastmasters from other clubs.

“Wipro EC Friday Toastmasters Club has been doing a wonderful job in engaging people who desire to SPEAK UP, encouraging individuals who aspire to STAND OUT and embracing speakers who inspire the audience to take away a huge WOW!. My hearty congratulations to all the D92 Toastmasters for their dedication, determination and devotion towards creating effective communicator’s eco-system in and around the workplace. I am sure, the aspiring minds will get inspiring hearts with perspiring actions in the Toastmasters Friday meetings! I wish the team all the deserved and desired success for today and tomorrow“. I first got introduced to Toastmasters club by one of my fellow from our Wipro Running Club and got an opportunity to be invited as a guest few times. Later I was invited to share my thoughts and speak on the subject “Run to Rejuvenate”. I felt privileged and at the same time felt humble to be part of this highly motivated, energetic group of youngsters organizing these meetings so professionally. I think Wipro EC Friday Toastmasters Club is doing wonderful job by making difference in the lives of the people and hence their efforts are very much aligned to their mission “Adding value for every individual member in their leadership communication journey”. Wishing you all the best and success in all your future endeavors” While my usual communication on regular basis on work and personal front has been fine, I felt there is a scope of improvement to be more effective & influential during my communication with leadership and business teams. I realize that information/content has to be presented in right perspective at various levels of higher management which makes business sense at their level and enables them to quickly process the content to enable faster decision making. I strive to explore new things. My this urge led me to find this club when I went to E city TM meeting. I got to know about Wipro club. Found it very useful to eliminate the fear of public speaking. Success stories of other members gave the enough push to join the club. Repeated exposure to stage along with constructive feedback helps in building a habit of speaking naturally and effectively.
