ABDALLAH RIAD Name SAID EL-HAJ AHMAD
Throughout six years, I’ve gathered from the people met and experiences lived, more than I could ask, far Text beyond the degree. So, I wish to share in our milestone today, six thoughts for you to keep tomorrow:
ABDULHAMID Name BAHLUL A. GURBANNA
Text
-No healing process is merely physical. Use your heart to reach hearts. -Nothing beats human connection. Just get close enough to reach it. -To learn more, read. To impact more, experience something new and uncomfortable! -The only way to avoid failure and criticism is to do absolutely nothing. Love your mistakes, fear them not! -Stay kind. To yourself, with your words, those you know and everyone you don’t. -If there’s no choice, don’t worry about it. If there is, make it right. Choose happiness. Our time’s today!

First and foremost, Al-Hamdullilah for everything. I would like to thank my family and friends for their support throughout the years and through this magnificent period of my life. What an amazing journey it has been, filled with knowledge, learning, memories, and maturing as a person. It was fun while it lasted. Here’s to a bright future, filled with growing, learning, and achievements as future doctors, wherever the time and places take us. Farewell RCSI Bahrain and my RCSI family, it has been real.

ALI ABDULJABBAR ALI ISA HASAN
First, I would like to congratulate the whole class of 2020/COVID-19. I would like to take the opportunity to thank my family for their unconditional support throughout the years. I would like to thank my friends who were there during the good times we had together, and at times when the pace was slow and hope seemed lost. I would like to thank our professors and clinical tutors, who were great mentors and role models to me and many more. It has been an incredible journey here at RCSI Bahrain and I wish the best of luck to everyone in their next journey.
AMAL YUSUF HAMUD
To my parents, thank you for the continuous unconditional love and support throughout my entire life. To my loved ones, I appreciate you for standing by me throughout medical school. This degree is dedicated to you. “Verily, with every hardship comes ease,” Surah Ash-Sharh 94:5-6

I heal myself by healing people, and I couldn’t find any career to fulfil this desire other than medicine.
AMEENA ABDULRASOOL MAHDI
Mum, Dad and elder brother, this is for you. Thank you for being my best mentors and teachers throughout this medical journey. I promise you, and my younger siblings, that I’ll always do my best to make you all very proud, no matter how hard and long my next journeys will be.

Who deserves the medal of freedom is my accountant...
I dedicate this success to my parents, siblings, grandparents, and to whoever has supported me by any means; whether through prayers, warm words or smiles! My family, seeing your smiles was my motivator to continue the hard work, and my main aim is to continue to fill your hearts with pride and happiness in this life and beyond. My friends, thank you for brightening up my journey. I am also thankful to every teacher who helped me to expand my knowledge, including the patients I have met. Dear people, I am happy and ready to serve you now as a doctor.

ANAS AHMED HASHMI
ANJALI AJAY NAIR
“I, Anjali, will practice my profession in medicine with conscience and dignity,” I said, as we recited the Hippocratic Oath in our White Coat Ceremony. It was truly an unforgettable day in medical school, marking the transition in our journey from theoretical knowledge into clinical practice. In subsequent years, I’ve often reflected on that day and how far I’ve progressed since. It’s a tribute to my parents, who’ve made huge sacrifices in order to fulfil my dreams, and an incredible group of friends, colleagues and professors, who’ve always believed in me. I now leave RCSI Bahrain, not only as a doctor but also with fond memories that I will cherish forever, very fortunate and thankful to have had this opportunity!

Determination and hard work always pay off. Graduating from RCSI Bahrain is quite the honour. I will never forget these sweet and bitter memories that I made during my six years of study there. It provided me with the experiences and skills that I will carry on for the rest of the journey in my medicine career. I am forever grateful for the tremendous support that I received from my parents and family. My special thanks and regards to all the teaching staff of RCSI Bahrain and our training hospitals. Congratulations Class of 2020! May the odds be forever in your favour.

I don’t think I can really sum up five years of RCSI Bahrain in 120 words, so instead I’ll focus on a few good moments: Crying in the cafeteria because the roosi I just ordered is too spicy; laughing too hard in the CSS and causing a noise disturbance; watching my friends in the upper years graduate, and watching those in younger years go to their first OSCE; getting through Step1 with the help of my friends, and the understanding smiles on our faces when we finished; eating cheese and looking at the moon through a telescope; spicy chicken nuggets and Mcflurries.

Mom, you planted this seed in a little girl years ago and now it has finally grown, she did it. I love you, this is for you. Dad, you opened the doors of the world and were ready to cross seas to make my dreams come true. Aunt Wasmeya, thank you for all the goodie bags you brought on your many visits and your endless love. My sisters; Reem, my solid rock; Shaikha, my rainbow of joy. My guardians, Eid Mohammed Soud and Abdulrahman. Dana, my best friend, thank you. Finally, to the kind people of Bahrain - never once in your beautiful country did we feel estranged. God bless and forever protect you, a second family.
DHIAEDIN KHIATI
When I left my family and came to Bahrain, everything was happening so suddenly, and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Little did I know that what would follow would shape who I was for the rest of my life. Honestly, looking back there is no place in the world I would have wanted to go to instead. Here, I have forged bonds that time can never break. Here, I had the freedom and support I needed to grow, both as a professional and as a person. I can only express my sincere gratitude to the University, my classmates, my friends, the faculty members and everyone who played a role in my development here.

GEERTHANA JEYAKUMAR
It’s surreal to think that our journey here at RCSI Bahrain has come to an end. It’s not the hours spent buried in books that made this journey memorable, but a collection of unforgettable moments — the pure magic I witnessed assisting a delivery for the first time, ice cream trips after long hours in the LRC, and our collective grind after being told we would sit finals 48 hours in advance. But, we made it. I am humbled to begin a career in this noble profession, during a time of great need. It took a village to make this happen and I am forever grateful for mine. Congratulations Class of 2020! Let’s go make this world a better place.
GHAIDA IMAD HASAN ODEH
“Dream big or go home,” this quote was always on my mind during the hard times. I always knew one day I would say, ‘I made my dream come true’.
As my time at RCSI Bahrain has come to end, I find myself reminiscing at the countless memories I’ve made at this institution.
Thanks to my family for supporting me, especially my mother for always being there.
As excited as I am to graduate and start the next chapter of my life, I cannot help but feel sad about leaving my time here behind. This journey was definitely not easy and had many challenges. It wouldn’t at all have been possible without the support of my amazing family and friends. I feel incredibly blessed for the experiences I’ve had here, the lifelong friendships I’ve built and the remarkable mentors I met. It has changed me and my life in numerous ways and I will forever be grateful for the memories RCSI Bahrain gave me.
Thanks to myself for always staying strong.

At the end of the storm is a golden sky.... While going through this journey I have crossed paths with so many influential people who have impacted my life greatly, I would like to thank each and every one of you, I am forever grateful. And to the people dearest to my heart; my parents, if it was not to you, I would not have been able to achieve this dream. I can proudly say that I am a doctor today because of you. Fellow survivors, they say; “there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.” Awkwardly, for us it was Corona. All the best in your careers, be positive (not COVID) and you’ll never walk alone.

My parents, you have been my greatest supporters and my motivation. I thank you for all that you have done and all the time that you invested in me. There is no amount that I could repay you with but I hope I made you proud. My friends, you shaped my six years in this university and helped me through everything. You were the source of joy and laughter that helped me push through the stressful times. Thank you for sitting down with me and teaching me things I would never understand reading through the lectures, or reminding me of deadlines and projects that we had to do, or just keeping me entertained through hours of studying. I couldn’t have done it without your help.
IBRAHIEM SAMIER AL NASSAR
I am who I am today because of my parents and family, I would like to dedicate all my success in my life to them. Also, I would like to thank all professors and RCSI Bahrain staff for their relentless support. Lastly, I would like to thank Bahrain for being my home for the last six years.
ISHAQ MAHMOOD ALKOOHEJI
I am thankful for all the people I have met throughout medical school. Different people who made me the person I am today. If I don’t mention you, just remember you played a part, and I thank you for that. I would like to thank my parents for their support through these six years. Without them, becoming a doctor would have been just a dream. My siblings bothering me was the perfect break from studying I needed, I love you guys. I would like to also thank my friends who were there through it all and always pushed me to do better. I will carry the experience and advice I learned from those in RCSI Bahrain with me forever. Thank you.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
I speak four languages and yet I am still not good at expressing myself. So congratulations Class of 2020! Here’s to a new beginning.
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Education doesn’t stop after we graduate from RCSI Bahrain. It doesn’t stop after we finish our residencies and specialty training either. To all my brilliant, inspiring and unique colleagues, remember: Wisdom acquisition is a moral duty. It is a moral duty because it is through continuous learning that we, as physicians, can add to the vast knowledge of mankind. If we stopped learning, progress as we know it would cease. Let us commit to the tenacious pursuit of knowledge and excellence, to being masters of our craft, helping and healing others, all while reflecting honour and integrity in the practice of Medicine and Surgery.
KATHERINE WALTERS
Coming to RCSI Bahrain, I didn’t know what to expect. What I didn’t expect was to make friends who are practically family; to fall in love with Bahrain and the people here; or for medical school to be sooo hard. This took blood, sweat and tears...lots of tears, but I’m happy and proud of my decision to come to RCSI Bahrain. I’m proud of the class of 2020, and I’d like to thank all my peers and the wonderful staff who have made this experience possible. Thank You All!
Aristotle was most eloquent when he said: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”
KEITH PAPPACHEN MATHEW
Pre-Med school had me like, “the sky is the limit.” But as I progressed, I added “those moulded in the furnace never melt under the sun,” to my repertoire. As I pulled closer to the end, I added; “one step at a time is sufficient but it is imperative that it is firm nonetheless.” And now as I have reached the milestone where I have the honour of using the prefix ‘Dr’, I hereby add; “Nurture in humility, dedication, perseverance, spirituality, passion, respect in order to become the best stewards in the healthcare ministry for your patients.” May the Almighty help us spread smiles and become true pioneering ambassadors of the esteemed RCSI fraternity. Amen.

KHALED WALEED MOHAMED ALHAMMADI
When thinking of graduation dedication letters, we tend to picture joyful letters alongside each graduate’s photo. Graduation personal dedications are a wonderful gesture to express to our loved ones our gratitude for their endless support. But the question is, were all ‘moments’ throughout our journey flowery, colourful and happy??? As much as I am happy to be ending this milestone in medical school and starting my career as a doctor, I would like to cherish all those sleepless nights, hard work and personal/academic challenges that helped shape who I am today. Thank you God for your blessings. Thanks to my family and friends for their support. And finally, I would like to wish my colleagues the best in their future endeavours.
KHALIFA SALAH ALBENJASIM
I start with praise to the almighty Allah for all his blessings upon me throughout this long journey. Then, many thanks to my beloved family, whom I gained the support and strength from. Not forgetting my dear friends who were always there for me. Brothers and sisters of Class 2020, congratulations! Together we stood and together we shall conclude our story in medical school – with its sweets and sorrows. It was an honour to have met all of you and a pleasure to have lived this experience by your side. I wish you all the best and lasting health and wellbeing.
LATEEFA ARIF AHMED MOHAMED

Last summer I was speaking to a friend of mine about how I want my graduation dress to have some sort of contrast with the colour of the gown, the heels and the design I was thinking of, and how I wanted to style my hair and ensure it doesn’t get messy when I throw my gown for the typical grad pic. Her reply was: “I bought a lidocaine spray to make sure my heels don’t hurt throughout the ceremony.” Trust me, girls do think about the details. Little did we know that in a year’s time, we would be graduating through a zoom screen in the middle of a pandemic. It’s been a fascinating journey Class of COVID-19!

This has been a ten-year process and it really is hard to believe that I am finally here. Bahrain in the last five years has become a part of me, not only because of the education I received, but also the amazing people I encountered along the way. I would like to thank my father and my mother for supporting me towards achieving my dream. Their belief in me was unwavering, despite all of my failures; they are gifts I do not deserve. I would also like to thank my brothers, Abdulla, Abdulrahman and Yousif. They have always been there with me and I could not have asked for a greater brotherhood. Thank you to my closest friends – Noshin, Alawi, Mahmood, Moin, Nizam, Malek, Anvil and Mohsen. Thank you to 3mi, 3mti, Janet, Pearl, Sherry and Kiko, who always bring a smile to my face. Thank you to Kuro, Khunyx, Tord for being amazing friends from so far away. I will do the best I can. Thank you.
MICHAEL SHARAIHA
As I navigate the rite of passage from medical student to doctor, I grasp that RCSI Bahrain will forever be etched in every thought, diagnosis and examination I will ever perform.
I arrived in Bahrain six years ago as a clueless teenager who didn’t know anything about anything. But all the moments lived and life lessons learned could not have happened if it wasn’t for my time at RCSI Bahrain.
The time has come for me to metamorphose my role from human to healer, the friendly face amidst tragedy. While I thought COVID-19 was outshining my graduation, the world is seeing doctors in a new light, thus I am grateful to take an oath during a time where we are faced with a system that recognises that the real heroes wear white coats.
Above all, I would like to thank the two people who this achievement could not have happened without: Ammie and Baba, your countless sacrifices, support and prayers got me through this, and I am eternally grateful!
I dedicate my title as a doctor to the inspiration behind it, my father; the reason behind achieving it, my mother, and my sphere of positivity, my sister.

This whole pandemic thing makes you realise how important it is to really appreciate the good times, no matter how insignificant they may seem at the time, or as Andy Bernard would say, “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days, before you’ve actually left them.” It was a long and tough journey, couldn’t have made it if it weren’t for the support of my friends and family (and Wikipedia).
I am very grateful to God.

Congratulations to everyone in the Class of 2020. To all the lectures, lecturers, signing in/out, exams, late nights, early mornings, coffee shops, WIFI issues, restaurants, friends and family, I would like to say thank you. Thank you for the lessons, the memories, and growth attained from this enduring, gratifying, and redeeming journey. Yet, before we set off, it is of utmost importance to remember to seek the path of intentionality, realising that we are carrying the trust and hopes of fellow human beings in their most vulnerable states. Hence, it is vital to possess such essential traits as compassion, empathy, and humility. Best of luck to everyone. As I have said before, now, is the end of the beginning.

Never give up on your dreams, for only you can pave your way to success. Along the way we laughed, we cried, we broke down, we lost hope, but we never gave up and that’s why we made it so far, so be proud of yourself, because you’re all amazing in your own way and I hope the next chapter of our lives is full of new experiences.
Now that it is all coming to an end, I’m going down memory lane... thinking of all the things I learned in RCSI Bahrain...
You’ll never know what you can accomplish or where the road may lead you if you don’t try so have faith in yourself.

To the 2020 batch, I say: the sky is your limit, you are going to excel wherever life takes you. It has been a pleasure! To my family, who taught me that no act of kindness is ever wasted, and every little thing you do creates a ripple effect. May we always do good no matter how small we perceive it to be. May we never forget everyone who got us to this place. I am forever in debt to you my dear family.

OSAMAH MASOOD LODHI
The road to graduation was an eventful one. Throughout the years, I’ve had many experiences, good and bad, that have shaped me to the person I am today. Medical school wasn’t just a place to learn medicine, it was also a place where I grew as a person in terms of emotional, physical and mental maturity. I’ve had a long list of trials along the way and with the support of my friends and family I have been able to overcome them and have become a better doctor because of it. I thank my mother, father and brother, who have provided a nurturing environment and have had faith and confidence in myself. I’m proud to serve as a doctor on some of the most important battlegrounds today. This is the life I have chosen and I couldn’t have chosen any better.
RAFIA WAJAHAT ALI
It takes a village to raise a doctor and this is a thank you to mine. To Mama and Baba, this one’s for you – this is your achievement as much as it is mine. To my cheerleaders - Anum and Hiba, to my friends-turned-family, to my home - Bahrain, to the patients who became my greatest teachers in medicine and life, and to every kind soul who helped me along the way – this is for you all. This is the result of collective sacrifices, relentless support and endless love. To my village, this is for us. Above all, this is for God and this is all from God. Here’s to the incredible minds of Class of 2020. Onwards we go, Bismillah.

It took a considerable amount of time, effort and strength to achieve this dream, nevertheless, we made it. Though it was a challenging milestone, I was able to achieve and be prepared for what life threw at me during my time at medical school. Congratulations to all the graduates and staff that stood by us to make this day happen!

The one quality that I appreciate most about this class is our support for one another! We have always been there for one another through the hardest of times and I will always cherish this! I have had people from different years tell me that they envy our class’s cohesiveness and supportiveness and rightfully so! As a result, we have carried one another as a team to the finish line and set the bar for teamwork very high! I can say with the utmost certainty that I am grateful to be a part of this bunch. Cheers to the Class of 2020!

I thank God who has enabled me to complete these years and to be what I am now. Thanks to my family and colleagues for all the efforts they made for me. Thanks to my teachers and RCSI Bahrain for everything.

I didn’t choose nursing, nursing chose me.

The roof is not my son, but still I will raise it. And yeah this is my real name!
NOOR ABDULLA MOHAMED
No words can express my feelings now but I am so happy to reach this stage, so I want to thank my family for supporting me. I always believe that God chooses good people to be nurses, so I’m proud to be a nurse.

As the end falls, I have reached my ambition, despite many challenges. Always remember, “your path is characterdefining itself more and more every day like a photograph coming into focus.” However, graduation is not the end; it’s the beginning and I will start where I am and continue my learning process.

I never thought that nursing and medical fields could be this fun, aside from treating those in need. Yes, it was a rough journey, but I did it!
SALMAN AHMED ALI SALEM

After years of daily effort and sleepless nights, cramming for exams and finishing term papers, the day finally comes when you put on your caps and gowns to stand in line to receive the university bachelor’s degree certifying that the time has come for you to make your entry into the real nursing world!
SARA LAHDAN HASAN KHALIFA HASAN
Sometimes I feel like I’m not fulfilled working as a nurse but once I see the smile I put on my patients’ faces and the comfort they feel when they are being cared for from the heart, I feel joy and warmth inside and I feel grateful for the life that God has given me to work as an angel and as a superhero.
Chase your dreams. Never stop trying. Never stop learning. Live life to the fullest and give it nothing but your best. You deserve to see your dreams come true…congrats! Finally, I would like to thank all my family for supporting me to be who I am now and many thanks to all my lecturers. I will miss university life.

I thank all my family, friends, lecturers and tutors for supporting me to finish my journey. Nursing school was very tough but eventually I made it and graduated, and hopefully I will become a good nurse.
ZAHRA ZUHAIR ISA ABDULLA ALI
I stand where I stand because someone prayed for me, had faith in me, and I came trailing the breath of the ancestors. And so wearing this cap, realising that it had been paid for not only by myself and my four years, but by my parents’ support and faith that led me this far, by the professors and staff that taught me everything I know today, paid for by knowing that life wasn’t gonna be no crystal starred, by the tears and the sweat from the sit-ins and sit-backs and by moving on, even when I believed that the road wasn’t taking me nowhere. This has been a long journey, but I have made the best out of it.
