Our Limitless Impact Girls on the Run Serving Greater Kansas City 2018 Annual Report
Our Mission We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experienced-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Our Vision We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
Welcome! In 2017-2018, Girls on the Run Serving Greater Kansas City focused on expanding our impact to ensure our goal of serving any girl who wants to participate in Girls on the Run can! We want to see our mission of inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy and confident come to life in our own community. Keeping this focus in mind, we saw great success that allowed us to transform the lives of more than 4,400 girls. Areas that we expanded include our program, 5K, special events and office space. In both the fall and spring seasons, we reached our goal of 5% year over year growth making this the largest number of girls we have ever served in our 11 years while increasing financial assistance with half of our girls receiving scholarships. Spring 2018 was our largest 5K ever; 5,100 runners crossed the finish line and 6,000 community members were in total attendance. We engaged new partners through new special events which included Girls Night Out, Every Girl Evening and Golf for Girls with total attendance of 400. Our office space moved to the lively Crossroads Art District to be centrally located for our girls, families, volunteers and partners and support more local Kansas City business. This year served as a springboard of new opportunities for Girls on the Run Serving Greater Kansas City and we appreciated your support in making this growth happen! Together we are building the pipeline of future female leaders!
