World ONE A world with AI globally focusing on emphasizing on human needs in centralized, interoperable platforms is a world that aims to better one of the essential things to human- human health. The focus of human health is not only in the aspect of curing physical diseases, but also in the aspect of improving environmental health and social well-being. In the aims of curing and eliminating diseases, this is the world where the biotech industry will emerge and the study of human structure will expand as the world tries to discover the secrets to extend human lives or even immortality. Due to the world’s central focus on health, doctors will shift their interest in studying possible solutions to enhance human immune system or lifespan through experiments. Along with the emergence of the biotech

industry to tackle diseases, the use of robotic doctors and surgeons are presented in almost all clinics and hospitals. Since doctors are shifted to research and experiment for ways to improve human health, robotic doctors are developed for sick patients throughout the world to substitute doctor and surgeon roles in the medical world. These robotic doctors, known as Dr. Droids, are assigned with unique serial codes that are used for identification. Humans of this world will demand a faster pace in both major and minor medical treatments since technology advancement like Dr. Droid is assumed to make services faster and more convenient. The increase pace of service is aimed to deal with more patients in less time. Dr. Droids are assigned to medical clinics and hospitals where they are trained or developed to point out the patient’s symptoms and assign the patient with specific medical attention. Data and patient record are stored inside each Dr. Droid’s memory chip which will enable them to suggest the best medical treatment for patients. The dependency on the Dr. Droids in the medical field leads to mass production in even more skilled robots to serve as doctors. Surgical AIs are used to perform surgeries on patients to result in faster recoveries. Although these surgical robots are generally safe, there is also a risk. It simply does not make sense to sue a robot if anything goes wrong since the robot is not actually human. A whole new legal system is established to accommodate surgical accidents or other issues caused by the Dr. Droids. This system is made to deal with law enforcements or charges if patients are not cured or treated properly by Dr. AIs. This new system seeks to protect human rights while the world is revolved

around robotics performing services for humans. All corporations hold full responsibilities for the Dr. Droids that they manufacture and distribute to the various hospitals. Due to the mass production of Dr. Droids, treating patients become a faster pace and the global death rate slowly decreases. As the world focuses mainly on protecting human, it leaves out the problem of overpopulation. As a resolution, some places may expand artificial land in the sea, while other places may expand in an upper direction due to lack of space. In the case of upward expansion, architectures are transformed into skyscrapers, but in a greener direction as well. The human connection to nature is a component to good health, which is why the world is transformed environmentally to enhance its contact with nature. More and more architectures try to enhance the use of nature into their constructions.

World TWO

In contrast to the centralized world focusing on human health, a world that is focusing on human needs but in decentralized platforms is a world that emphasizes on various human basic needs. The world aims to develop a variety of technologies that can be cheaper, more reliable, and digitally smarter for humans to use. It is a common belief that with more technologies developed to provide a variety of services for humans, humans’ dependency on technologies will only increase. Yet no matter how intelligent computers can be, they can never take over the world because humans are the ones to program them. According to the “big mirage theory,” “AIs may alter how we do things, but not what we do.” Humans eventually have more and more time in their hands as technologies tackle almost every service possible in the world. Different work industries have different AIs to work alongside or even replace humans in order to improve customer experience in a reduced cost and expended skill. AIs are now serving and producing food in food industry, working with banking systems in financial industry, and other major industries. When you walk into a particular restaurant, you will be get seated by an AI to once you enter your

name on a computerized waitlist. You will order your food on a digitalized menu, and in few minutes later a robotic server will be serving you your requested dish. When you walk into a bank, you will be assisted with a robotic adviser to manage your personal financial account. The purpose of inventing various technologies is to enhance convenience in the world’s everyday lives. As the technology create a faster working pace for the world, human will have more time to utilize. With extra time to spare, humans will shift their time towards leisure and entertainment. Leisure is an essential component to human balance and satisfaction. However, the relentless acceleration of time caused by technology advancements leads humans to question about leisure reliefs. Due to the overexposure of technologies involving in almost all industries in the world, humans will soon desire to escape from this futuristic reality and spend their leisure time in a past reality without the overpowering of technologies. The inundate feeling people get from encountering technologies everywhere they go will cause them to linger to escape back to a more natural world. A new form of leisure will rise, and this is the shift from reality leisure to virtual leisure. Technologies are rapidly segregating humans between what is real and what is not. Inventions for virtual leisure will substitute actual experience for virtual simulation. A variety of virtual worlds are created for different people to experience. Some will linger to have leisure in a gaming world, while others

may desire to have leisure in a simple countryside world. As the virtual reality idea becomes popularized, corporations will invest more in researches in virtual technology that can apply this idea into a deeper level for the world. Sensory-immersive virtual reality technology may be created to apply them to different fields that include architecture, engineering, medicine, and more. People can create any type of artificial environment of their choice through software. In these artificial worlds, people are able test and trial ideas with no harm. Since people acknowledge that they are experimenting in a virtual world, they will be more willing to take risks and chances since they have nothing to lose. With this opportunity in experiments, advancements in this technology are potentially widen. Virtual technology devices may be connected or linked together to be in a same virtual world, allowing humans to interact within the virtual world as well. Along with being a sense of leisure to humans, the virtual reality technology may become a daily basis of escape for humans as it become easier to access. Soon, humans will prefer to interact with one another in the modified worlds more than the actual reality. Interactions in reality will decrease even more dramatically, as people’s main purpose is to have an income to access them into the digital world.

With the world being decentralized and driving AIs with non-interoperable platforms, people will not be making the use of exchanging information and the domain knowledge of the virtual technology will not be in a central location. As a result, a mass number of companies will form to all targets into researching and integrating the idea of virtualization. Instead of a centralized world where there is one central authority that creates a monopoly over AIs, this decentralized world forms a competitive economic system in various scales of industries. All firms in the competitive market are aiming to develop virtual inventions to sell them to specific fields of industries.

World THREE

The world with AIs globally focusing on other species rather than humans in a centralized platform is a world where humans will focus on the study of relations with other species, more specifically with animals. Since it is a world centralized in animals, humans would want to understand their mindset more through interactions rather than simply study their habits and habitats. Due to this world’s central interest, humans will end up inventing AIs which can help humans communicate more with the animals to understand them in a deeper level. For instance, an animal to human voice translator may be developed to enclose the distance between humans and animals. With the technology of the animal to human voice translator, also known as the AHT, humans can understand various species of animals’ way of thinking and animals can do the same by interacting with humans. Experiments on animal intelligence will arise as more knowledge about the minds of the animals is uncovered. The discoveries of animal intelligence will then lead humans to experiment more as they teach these species different levels of human skills. The species centralized world will encourage humans to have more interactions with animals, and the number of pet owners will then increase dramatically. As humans and pets interact through the AI translators, the verbal interactions will slowly alter the relationship between humans and their pets. These animals are no longer considered pets because they are actually communicating effectively with humans, rather than just accompany them for leisure. Since humans are interacting with these animals with a closer connection, animals will then adapt to the surrounding of the human world and adapt to everyday human actions. Soon, humans and animals result in living together in same spaces,

and animals eventually learn to live and survive in the human’s governed system. Animals are then attached to their adapted surrounding and slowly evolved into living together as humans. Like humans, different species of animals have different specialized skills and characteristics. For instance, birds like cockatoos have been nicknames “animal master burglars” for their talent in being able to pick almost any lock. According to a current biology study, elephants can imitate human speech and snakes have a unique skill of calculating a perfect time to attack. In addition to specific skills, specific personalities also define different species. Based on researches, horses is said to possess excellent memories and can act as a most loyal and long term friend for one. Meanwhile, dogs are known to be sympathetic and loyal. Due to the different personalities and skills animals have, their differences will cause them to separate in different roles in the human society. Vicious thinkers like snakes may be taking over leadership roles in society, while more loyal and friendly species like horses and dogs enjoy simplicity in life with simpler jobs and less responsibilities in the society. As different animals with different skills adapt to the society, they will soon live on their own and form their own home by employing just like normal humans do. Soon, animals will be involved in various industries in the world. Animals may learn the knowledges of humans on their own, yet humans may not obtain special traits that animals have, like how cats has a clear night vision ability. Because of the advantage animals have over humans, animals may begin replacing employment positions throughout the job industries. Unlike humans who has leisure time to plan a road trip and such, wild animals instinctively only aims to survive in this world. These wild animals tend to have strong perseverance to climb up to the highest societal rank to earn respect. This type of animals is more likely to be involved in the world’s political affairs and have higher possibilities in replacing humans in political roles. In an extent, animals may possibly take over major leading roles from humans

and gain more authority in controlling the rest of the world. Since the AHT allows people to hold conversations with other species, animals will be able to tell how much damage humans have done to their habitats. Humans will have a deeper understanding and empathy towards animals once they interact more with each other. Since animals are still the main focus of the world, humans will adjust their living environment based on the species’ needs. These environmental changes are based off of certain species’ adaptation. Similar to human’s diverse ethnicity and culture, animals diverse in types of species and growing habitat. Common types of species will tend to live together in the same area, similarly with common ethnicities. For instance, forest animals are living in a specific city or area in which it fits their natural habitat the closest. In transition, this specific city makes alterations with tall trees and climate control to produce more rain and humidity for these animals.

Climate control technologies are emerged along with the translators. Humans use these climate control devices to create certain environment adjustments to make the animals stay to interact with them. Human’s perspective on animals will no longer be the same. Animals will be view the same as living beings in society, but just a different kind of species from humans. Because the world has a new type of way in divergence between animals and humans, gender roles will become less prominent. The world focuses more on the dissociation between different groups of animals and humans rather than specifically in gender roles. Gender protests may no longer exist, rather certain types of groups, such as reptiles, may be protesting for their own equality and rights. A negative effect of animals and humans living together in the same societal system is a possible increase in unemployment rate due to limited jobs with increasing numbers of jobseekers. Humans and animals will soon reach to a disputing point in which humans will try to suggest telling animals to go back to living their original or wild lives. Animals, now with a developed sense of modernism, will try to fight against this idea and refuse to go back to their old ways of living. It is a psychological idea that evolving species will always seek to move forward instead of backward. As the problem with overpopulation and unemployment worsens, conflicts will lead to protests as the two sides refuse to step back. This can possibly be a factor that pulls the trigger to start war or other violent events.

World FOUR

With its focus on developing AIs to satisfy the needs of other species, this particular world will be similar to the previous discussed world. Humans will devote most time in researching and experimenting on the other species to understand them at a deeper level. However, animal to human voice translator will not be presented in this world since the non-interoperable platform will prevent AI development from being able to exchange and make use of information as easily. Rather than focusing on communicating and teaching animals the ways of humans, the world will shift their focus of animals towards protecting them and their environment. The lives of these species are threatened as they face the problem of extinction. One of the major factors of this problem is the ongoing growth of human populations and unsustainable consumer lifestyles.

According to research statistics, meat production is projected to “double by 2020 due to increase per capita global consumption of meat and population growth.” Global meat consumption will always increase as human population increase. This directly increases in meat production and affects the industrialized animal production systems, which will lead to major consequences on the global environment. There can be only so much energy, water and nutrients we can obtain in this world with the speeded pace in global consumption. Livestock production also impacts negatively on global warming, as the harmful production accounts for a high percentage of global greenhouse gas emissions. This world will try to sustain consumer’s lifestyles by rebalancing the crop and livestock system and encouraging humans to shift interest I n global trade of grain and other crops. Farming crops will be popularized, but the livestock system will still exist in this world. The world will not change every human to be vegetarians, but humans are encouraged to fix a diet and consume less meat. As a result in attempting to prevent the species’ extinctions and environmental harm, AI in this world is applied in mostly the agricultural industry, specifically farming.

People will demand more agricultural applications in technology as farming becomes more important than livestock production. AI will be implicated in farming to make crop production faster and affordably. This era will mark the rise of the farmer drones. The AI drones will specialize in farming by watering and fertilizing crops for you while you monitor from your couch. Farmer drone has a suply storage space to keep water and fertilizer in them. With a customized time, the AI famer will fly around the field to water and fertilize your crops in just the right amount. In addition, the farmer drone can calculate the outcome of the production process and indicate if the production will be harmed or affected by particular weather change. It can also hold record of your crop productions and analyze when the optimum time is for particular crop to harvest.

According to the law of demand applied in the economy, the price of crops increases as demand for crops increases. People will soon utilize their home space as farm land to farm own their own to consume crops in a cheaper way. Architects will adapt to the emergence of the agricultural industry and design architectures that can provide both domestic and farming space in a more confined way by creating these spaces in multiple levels. Although these farmer drones are extremely helpful to the agricultural industry, the gradual shift towards farming over livestock production may also lead to another risk in the balance of these two systems. The focus of this world remains to be protecting the other species and their environment. However if the world comes to an extreme where humans begin a cultural global shift toward the idea of vegan, there can also be a risk in the extinction of farm animals. Farm animals are not born to be capable of surviving in the wild life. Unless these species are relocated to zoos, they will not be able to survive among the other dominant species and will be endangered of extinction. Perhaps they may be a new form of pets for humans to have since they are trying to keep them safe. In this extreme scenario, meat production will slowly decrease as demand decreases. Farm animals such as cows and chickens will continue to produce milk and eggs, but humans will no longer consume their bodies as food. So in the end, where will the cows and chickens go as their populations increase dramatically? One of the solutions would be turning these species into raw material such as leather to put them into use. Now this will then defeats the whole purpose of the world not wanting to harm any animals. The world will realize that it is impossible to not harm any animals in the world’s economy when humans are taking advantages of them whether it is for raw material or nutritional purposes. After the realization, the world will naturally attempt to rebalance the crop and livestock system once again and livestock demand will gradually increase once again.
