1.0: IDX Overview 1.1: What is the TyreSense IDX: inflation and deflation system? Figure 1. TyreSense IDX System (Control Box and Pneumatic Assembly). SECTION 1.0: IDX OVERVIEW The TyreSense IDX automated tire inflator and deflator system is an advancement stemming from developments in wheel sensor technology, which significantly reduces the downtime demanded by mechanical or manual airing up. The TyreSense IDX rapidly delivers uninterrupted air flow, governed by 1 precise and continuous data from the TyreSense wheel sensor . Accurate inflation and deflation can also be achieved on hot tires using TyreSense’s real-time cold-pressure calculation. The IDX provides automatic shut-off using presets and safety controls along with a time-based mode of operation. The IDX provides a separate control assembly, keeping personnel a safe distance from potential hazard zones when performing inflation or deflation. 1 A TyreSense wheel sensor is not required, but is recommended, for system operation. 8 IDX USER GUIDE

1.2: What value does the IDX offer? You can use the TyreSense IDX to: • Inflate and deflate tires to preset gauge and cold pressures . • Inflate and deflate tires for a preset time. • Manually inflate and deflate tires. • Inflate and deflate “hot” tires confidently to their recommended cold inflation pressure. • Inflate and deflate tires not equipped with TyreSense wheel SECTION 1.0: IDX OVERVIEW sensors . 2 • Program up to 32 unique preset groups, each with settings for cold inflation pressure, gauge pressure and time-based inflation. • Customize each preset group with their own unique name. • Improve productivity . 3 1.3: What are the features of the IDX? • Automatic LCD brightness for outside operation. • Maximum pressure of 175 PSI. • Stainless and brass pipe and fittings. • IP65X water and dirt ingress resistance. • Internal rechargeable Lithium-ion battery for battery backed operation. • 12VDC power input. • Pneumatically actuated ball-valves with air reservoir. • One-inch piping, valves, and fittings. • Mechanical safety ball-valves on both the COMPRESSOR input and TIRE output. • Automatic shutoff in the case of loss of power or error condition 2 For tires that are not equipped with TyreSense wheel sensors, automatic shutoff can only be achieved using a preset time. 3 Even though the TyreSense IDX is an automated system with safety mechanisms in place to abort operation, the operator must NEVER LEAVE IT OPERATING WITHOUT OVERSIGHT. If the wheel sensor in the tire is unknown, the Sensor Tracker utility in the Tools menu is helpful. 26 IDX USER GUIDE

3.4: IDX Presets Automatic inflation/deflation shutoff is determined by the selected preset. Presets can be configured for cold-pressure, gauge pressure, or time-based in nature. For cold pressure presets, inflation/deflation will automatically shut off when the calculated cold pressure received by the wheel sensor meets the preset value. Gauge pressure presets operate in the same manor as cold pressure presets except that they use gauge pressure rather than cold pressure. Time based presets automatically shut off inflation/deflation after the elapsed time reaches the preset value. Cold Pressure Presets Figure 18. HOME screen with a cold pressure preset selected. SECTION 3.0: IDX CONTROL BOX OPERATION  Figure 18 shows an example of the home screen with a cold pressure preset selected. Cold pressure preset buttons can be identified by the preset value with a snow flake underneath.
