Instruction “Golf is the hardest game in the world. There is no way you can ever get it. Just when you think you do; the game jumps up and puts you in your place.” Ben Crenshaw

Instruction Philosophy:

The golf swing can become an overwhelming topic to a non-student of the game. Simply put, golf is a game. Games are designed for two primary purposes: exercise and enjoyment. Ninety percent of the golfing population cannot enjoy the golf swing, or for that matter, the game of golf, if it is made into something it is not trying to be. The founders of this great game were not fixated on swing planes and proper posture, yet these are important fundamentals. Their main goal was to get a little ball into a little hole in fewer strokes than their competition. This is the philosophy I believe in when teaching the game of golf.

Question:

How will my leadership provide a successful instruction program at Sentry World?

Answer:

I will work with the professional golf staff to develop all players, regardless of ability, within their physical limitations and mental expectations.

30,60- and 90-Day Plan from Pelican Point Golf Club 30 Day Plan: Individually meet with General Manager and Golf Professional staff to get a sense of the state of the Pelican Point Golf Club instruction program. 60 Day Plan: Develop the 2018 instruction program. Evaluate instruction areas (driving range, putting greens, short game, etc.) and work with the Superintendent on adjustments. 90 Day Plan: Introduce the 2018 instruction program by communicating with the membership.

My objective is to find what the student wants to accomplish, and how hard they are willing to work to achieve their goals What physical limitations does the student have? Use the 9 ball flight laws to explain why shots fly in different directions Determine their putting method based on the way they read putts and approach putting

Question:

Why is the information requested above necessary?

Answer:

Information is the key to instruction. By merely watching a student play a round of golf, take a practice swing or put on the green, observations alone will lead any excellent instructor to a standard method for improving a student. Physical limitations and the mental process can restrict a student to a swing type that they may not be attempting. Is the player a one post individual? Or do they achieve better power and accuracy from tremendous weight transfer?

Jonathan Stuart To: Charles Heller Chip, Great job on Sunday with coming back from injury. You need to get out and play, and everything will fall into place. Putting- Set up the tee drill. Two tees as wide as your putter and two tees a little further closer to the hole as wide as the golf ball. This will ensure that you are striking the ball in the center and getting the ball to roll on your intended line. The next putting drill is where you have a ball lets say 30 feet away, and with each putt, you try to get as close as you can to it, you will repeat about ten times. Bunkers- Do not flip at the ball with your wrist; make sure the logo of your glove is not facing the sky. We want to make a big turn with our upper body and have speed coming through the shot. Swing- Always try to focus on getting the "tee" facing the golf ball in your backswing.

A personal email with a recap of each lesson goes a long way for the customer. It shows that you care, and you are willing to go the extra mile for them.

Here is an image of the swing path laws that I was talking about, please let me know if you have any questions regarding this. I hope you had a great time at the concert last night and if there is anything I can do, please let me know. Thank You,
