Center News May started out with a bang. On May 1, members met at the Center and enjoyed lunch at the Dublin House in Red Bank. After lunch we travelled the half block to the Count Basie Theater for a Phoenix production of The Wizard of Oz.
The renovated theater only enhanced the professionally portrayed show. Another benefit was that some members recognized cast members as neighbors and friends. We look forward to going to Count Basie soon.
K9 Visit From the Sheriff’s Office On the morning of May 12, members of the center had special visitors: S/O Douglas Marino and K9 Blue, Officer Marino began the presentation with a short history of the K9 division in Monmouth County. He then explained the process of pairing an officer with a K9 dog. After this compelling information and hiding drugs in the center, he introduced Blue, who had been waiting in the patrol car. Blue bounded into the center, but immediately stopped on command. This pairing of Police Officer and dog obviously was a good one. Each looked to the other for affirmation. Blue responded correctly and quickly to ever command issued by Officer Marino.
