Naalukettu is also placed against the background of Kerala's collapsing matrilineal Malayalam in a newly independent India which is known as M.T’s landmark work. Naalukettu is a veritable portrayal of Kerala's Nair community's matriarchal social order in its final gasp for life. The novel also depicts Appunni’s trauma and psychological scale, an introverted and angry man, attempting to avenge his insult to a nalikettu family by constructing a new building on his ancestral home's ruins. Similar to that Asuravithu, A novel is a long narrative that typically depicts fictitious characters and incidents in writing, generally in the style of a linear plot. Combining these different European interests with one or the other of the Nair kings, one prominent coalition was that of the Portuguese with the Kingdom of Cochin, with whom they collaborated to operate against the influence of the Calicut Zamora’s. His other novels include Manju (Mist), Kaalam (Time), as well as the equally remarkable cinematic achievements. He is a scriptwriter, and Malayalam films producer. For the movies "Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha," "Kadavu," "Sadayam" and "Parinayam," he has won many National Awards.

“Everyone who was born had to die; those who died would be reborn again. The killer and the slain: these were terms that had no meaning. The soul could never be destroyed. The soul discards a worn-out body for a new one as human beings discard old clothes for new, said Krishna, and there was nothing in this to grieve about.” M.T. Vasudevan Nair, BHIMA LONE WARRIOR

In 1995, M.T made his way to being honored with the nation's highest literary award to a writer, the Jnanpith. Prior to that, he had received numerous awards and accolades such as the Sahitya Akademi Awards from both state and centre. He has held and continues to hold other significant and influential roles in different literary bodies like Kerala Sahitya Akademi's presidency and Tunchan Memorial Trust's chairmanship.
