FAMILY TRIBUTE Read by Mike

POEM ‘Come with Me’ (Anon) God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be, So he put his arms around you And whispered ‘Come with Me’.

You never said I’m leaving You never said goodbye, You were gone before we knew it And only God knew why.

A golden heart stopped beating Hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove He only takes the best.

In life we loved you dearly In death we love you still, In our hearts you hold a place That no-one could ever fill.

Each time we see your picture You seem to smile and say, Don’t cry I’m in God’s keeping We’ll meet again some day.

It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn’t go alone, For part of us went with you The day God took you home.

PERIOD OF REFLECTION ‘Ferry Cross the Mersey’ by Gerry & The Pacemakers

THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done; On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.

COMMENDATION & COMMITTAL (a final farewell) Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, And let perpetual light shine upon him May he rest in peace Amen

POEM ‘He Is Gone’ by David Harkins

You can shed tears that he is gone, Or you can smile because he lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him, Or you can be full of the love that you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember him and only that he is gone, Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, Or you can do what he would want - smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
