MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB Facilitate training courses to ensure appropriate transferring of knowledge and competencies by using various training methods and methodologies. Exercise classroom discipline and management, conduct competency assessments and address skills gap through appropriate interventions, assist with the review of training courses and provide training related services to the End-user departments.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To manage processes and activities at the Husab plant in order to ensure targets are met by efficiency and productivity. The position will also be responsible for safety evaluation, cost, optimization of resources and efficient quality checks as well as personnel training as may be required.
Key Performance Areas: Prepares lesson plans to ensure a consistent approach to learning. Facilitates training courses as per monthly and weekly training schedules. Exercise classroom discipline and management and ensure adherence to the procedure. Ensures compliance with the assessment procedure and report any deviations to management. Makes sure that reactionary feedback is completed after each training course and review for any improvements required. Prepares all assessment documents and safeguards confidentiality. Conducts moderation on assessments as and when required. Ensure issuing of competency certification is in line with the training requirements and standards. Assists with the review of training courses as and when required in conjunction with the Curriculum section. Facilitates the reviewing process by liaising with the EUD and to ensure training material is relevant and valid to SU operations and requirements. Obtain the necessary information from EUD’s when modification of equipment/processes etc are done and liaise with the Curriculum section to ensure training documents are aligned accordingly. Assists EUD’s with the implementation of post training coaching/mentoring. Conduct Plan-Task -Observations as and when required and identifies competency gaps and recommend corrective actions. Ensure training documents are completed accurately and signed off as per laid down procedure. Assist the SSHER department with incident investigations that are training related.
Key Performance Areas: Ensures effective process management and quality control. Carries out Project Management duties, ensuring changes to existing plant processes to be compatible with up & downstream unit operations. Develops supplier relationships and manages customer satisfaction. Recommends/ purchases testing equipment relative to the area of responsibility. Provides metallurgical support and technical assistance by identifying ways to improve costs and system performance in various process areas. Ensures day to day technical process performance and efficiency by interpreting metallurgical technical data . Applies metallurgical principles to formulate and implement problem solving strategies with respect to process flow. Co-ordinates and oversees metallurgical laboratory and plant testing to optimize performance processes, by ensuring correct and accurate metallurgical sampling, testing and analysis. Conducts analyses and presents research by summarizing findings in written reports and formal presentations to counterpart professionals and senior management. Performs daily inspections to support customer demands and daily operating schedules. Prepares budgets and controls cost Carries out plant related administrative duties. Manages own performance and that of subordinates by maintaining and sharing professional knowledge and skills. Adheres to all laid down Safety, Health, Environment and Radiation standards and procedures.
Requirements and experience: Grade 12, with a Higher Certificate in Occupational Directed Training. Diploma in Occupational Directed Training will be an added advantage. 3 - 5 year experience in facilitation training courses in Earth Moving Equipment (preferably Drills MD6640,6290 or D65, Grader, FEL and Hydraulic Face Shovel 6060), and other support equipment (such as Forklift, VMC, Overhead/Mobile Cranes, Cherry Picker, Telehandler, Truck Mounted Crane and Tractor Loader Backhoe). Registered with NTA as an Assessor and Moderator. Facilitation certification. Experience in conducting safety related training courses such as Basic Rigging, Working at Height and Permit to Work. Knowledge of various unit standard requirements. Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License.
Requirements and experience: BSc or BTech Degree or similar qualification in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy At least 5 years post-graduate experience with technical/operational experience in metallurgical processing plants. Minimum 3 years leadership experience. Power Plant and Uranium processing experience will be an added advantage. Project management experience in the field of process development for Mining projects. Code B/BE Driver’s Licence.
