Saint Dnyaneshwar
Sant Dnyaneshwar, also referred to as
Jnaneshwar, Jnanadeva, Dnyandev or Mauli or Dnyaneshwar Vitthal Kulkarni was a 13th-century Indian Marathi saint, poet, philosopher and yogi of the Nath Vaishnava tradition. In his short life of 21 years, he authored Dnyaneshwari and
Amrutanubhav.
Saint Tukaram
Sant Tukaram Maharaj was a 17th-century Marathi poet and Hindu sant, popularly known as Tuka, Tukobaraya, Tukoba in Maharashtra. He was a Sant of Varkari
sampradaya in Maharashtra, India. He was part of the egalitarian, personalized Varkari
devotionalism tradition.
Namdev
Namdev, also transliterated as Nam Dayv, Namdeo, Namadeva, was an Indian poet and saint from Narsi, Hingoli, Maharashtra, India within the
Varkari tradition of Hinduism. He lived as a devotee of Lord Vitthal of Pandharpur. The details of Namdev's life are unclear.
Sant Gora Kumbhar
Sant Gora Kumbhar was a Hindu sant associated with the Bhakti movement and the Varkari sect of Maharashtra. He was a potter by trade and devotee of Vithal. Gora Kumbhar and other saints also wrote and sung hundreds of Abhangs. The central tenet of the Varkari sect was the daily chanting of Kirtan.
Tulsi Das
Tulsidas, also known as Goswami Tulsidas, was a Ramanandi Vaishnava
Hindu saint and poet, renowned for his devotion to the deity Rama.
Kabir Das
Kabir Das was a 15th-century Indian mystic poet and saint, whose writings influenced Hinduism's Bhakti movement and his verses are found in
Sikhism's scripture Guru Granth Sahib. Kabir was born in the city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Kabir is known for being critical of both organized religion and religions.
Sant Ravidas Ravidas was an Indian mystic poet-sant of the Bhakti movement and founder of Ravidassia religion during the 15th to 16th century CE. Venerated as a guru in the region of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and mainly Punjab and Haryana.
Chaitanya Maha Prabhu
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was a 15th century Indian saint considered to be the combined avatar of Radha and Krishna by his disciples. Chaitanya
Mahaprabhu's mode of worshipping Krishna with ecstatic song and dance had a profound effect on
Vaishnavism in Bengal.
