Course Description Office of the Public Guardian has an extensive role in the protection of adults who become unable to manage their property or finances. They monitor the granting of Powers of Attorney by individuals as well as Guardianships and Intervention Orders granted by the Courts. In addition, they operate the Access to Funds Scheme. The Public Guardian also performs an essential protective function by supervising the actings of those appointed in these roles. Their investigation team investigates concerns raised by anyone who has an interest in the property or financial affairs of an adult. This seminar will provide an overview of the Office of the Public Guardian's various roles and the steps that they can take to ensure that an adult's property or financial affairs are suitably safeguarded and not at risk from abuse or misuse. LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of this seminar, participants should have an understanding of:

How to deal with concerns about the way a person's property or financial affairs are being dealt with



The steps the Public Guardian can take to assist those with concerns and to protect those at risk from abuse or misuse
