Note: On average, local community colleges receive approximately 22.0% of their operating funds from the State. A portion of the assumed cost for the Baltimore City Community College shown above would have been covered through existing State funding formulas for local community colleges. In addition, Baltimore City's share of police aid funding was reduced significantly beginning in fiscal 1992 due to the State assumption of the Baltimore City Detention Center. In fiscal 1991, Baltimore City received $37.7 million in police aid, which represented 45.9% of total State funding for police aid in that year.
