Letter To Chief Apostle Presiding Bishop Charles Edward Blake, Sr.

“For Today, For Tomorrow” March 7, 2015

To the Chief Apostle Presiding Bishop Charles Edward Blake, Sr. And The General Board of the Church of God in Christ 3045 South Crenshaw Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90016 Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,

On December 5, 2014, after much prayerful deliberation throughout 2014, and consultation with a number of Pastors, I formed the Journey Fellowship. At this present time there are forty-two (42) churches that are part of this Fellowship and we strongly believe more churches will be added to the Journey Fellowship in the weeks and months ahead. The majority of the churches of the Journey Fellowship are churches coming back into Church of God in Christ and churches coming into Church of God in Christ for the very first time. Before I officially started the Fellowship, I met with Bishop Roy Dixon to explain my journey to starting the Fellowship and asked his blessing and full support. He understood and gave me his blessings and full support. After I met with Bishop Roy Dixon, I contacted Bishop Jerry Macklin and Bishop George McKinney to explain to them my journey to starting the Journey Fellowship and my desire to fulfill whatever obligations and requirements to become a new Jurisdiction in the Southern California area. A few weeks later, I meet with the Senior Bishops in the Southern California area, Bishop Joe Ealy and Bishop J. Bernard Hackworth to explain to them my journey to starting the Journey Fellowship and the churches we are focusing on reaching, which are churches that are not part of a Jurisdiction or in the Church of God in Christ. Bishop Jerry Macklin, Bishop George McKinney, Bishop Roy Dixon, Bishop Joe Ealy, and Bishop J. Bernard Hackworth gave me their blessings to proceed on the journey God has led me on to become a Jurisdiction. I am grateful each Bishop took time out to share much wisdom, guidance, and their expectations of me as I proceed to continue to grow the Journey Fellowship and become a Jurisdiction in the Southern California area. I strongly believe we are ready!

Superintendent John M. Richardson, Sr., Pastor

“For Today, For Tomorrow” Chief Apostle Presiding Bishop Charles Edward Blake, Sr., the Pastors of the Journey Fellowship and myself, Superintendent John Richardson, are formally requesting that you allow the Journey Fellowship to become a Jurisdiction!

We are excited and ready to work together to support your vision, the National Church mission, and grow the kingdom of God through starting new churches and growing the local church. We believe we have all the ingredients necessary to help our great church continue the phenomenal growth it has achieved thus far. We also believe we have everything that is necessary to be a great Jurisdiction in the Southern California area and in our great church, the Church of God in Christ! I am available to meet with whomever you designate concerning our request to become a Jurisdiction. And, at the appropriate time of your choosing, I am available to meet with you to share about the Journey Fellowship request to become a Jurisdiction. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Thank you for taking time to read this letter.
