A new beginning always reflects a new Life, where we all have a chance, an opportunity or a right to embrace each new day to do many things. The dawn of the decade witnessed a historical aberration in the guise of covid-19, the effects of which continue to ripple through the annuls of human history. Let us delve into the optimistic attribute. Each new day is a blank page in the diary of our life. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences. Our new academic year is gearing up to unfurl its new-fangled folios to be adorned with resplendent dexterities. With great confidence and pleasure, I welcome you to our new academic year 2022-2023. NCS, Kochi is always set aside an ocean of opportunities for our students to dig out their intrinsic aptitudes and inquisitiveness. We believe in upholding high standards with an absolute commitment to strive to understand and improve the educational process, using team strategies, while wholly centering on student achievement. We provide an atmosphere to our students for multifaceted development, where children are encouraged to channelize their potential in the pursuit of excellence. We motivate the talents, competences, and aptitudes of each student to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and productive members of an ever-changing global society. The new era is beheld with undue defies where we can’t curb our urges. It is a promising fact that this new academic year will be a bench mark in the life of the students. It is a long journey to convene the high standards of education. The journey can be rewarding and full of accomplishments if you strive to remove barriers of effectiveness. It is important to chart the road map with positive attitude, ambition and action. The wheels of progress will have to be steered with determination, direction and sense of purpose. Documentation is a call letter that you record for your future self. Keeping a record to recollect the delightful and scenic remembrances in a student’s life serves a vital role to connect with school life. The School Almanac reflects your school life in all means. Along with the myriad aims and goals it acts as an open platform between parents and teachers. My dear children, success is inevitable if one is capable , focused and works hard to achieve it. Paint brilliant thoughts and actions. Mirror success. If you do, you will have the chance to not only greatly inspire others, but to also live a life that you will find deeply satisfying and rewarding. I wish my students another year of insightful learning and accomplishments. May the year bring all success in your life. With Warm Wishes Dr Nellie Paul Verghese Principal, NCS,Kochi

SCHOOL DIARY 2022-23 organizes trips that are viewed as powerful and positive teaching tools that help to enhance the social, personal and emotional development of students. •

Study Tours - Short trips to local production units and historical sites in the vicinity of Kochi are conducted to help the students to have a better comprehension of our culture and heritage.

Outreach Programme - Highlighting all aspects of a child’s personality and giving them a range of choices, one of them being the opportunity to experience the reality of life and to sensitize all students to become socially responsible, the school organizes regular visits to orphanages and old age homes.

DEAR Period - Reading is one of the most important academic skills and provides the basis for most other academic learning. ‘Drop Everything and Read’ (DEAR) period is provided to learners so as to inculcate and promote the reading habit among them.

Lock Down Bell - Repeated short rings of 3 seconds is an indication to stay inside the room and lock all the doors and windows and follow the instructions given by the teacher.

Online Classes - The school has facilitated online classes with customized platform and trained faculty for the efficient conduct of the same. The online platform facilities are also being utilized for holistic development of students in an innovative perspective.
