RULES OF OTTERS CLUB I - GENERAL 1. The following provisions shall be referred to as the Rules of Otters Club, read in conjunction with the bye-laws and shall be subject to the changes as decided by the Managing Committee from time to time. 2. A copy of these rules will be placed in the Library and a copy will also be available at the Reception Desk. 3. All Members of the Club shall be deemed to be aware of all changes made from the time they are first posted on the Notice Board of the Club. Material changes in rules will be communicated via email provided by the Member. 4. Any question as to the interpretation or administration of the Rules shall be decided by the Managing Committee, whose decision shall be final and binding on the Members. 5. a) The names of Members of all Sub Committees appointed by the Managing Committee shall be available in the Club Office. b) All timings given in these Rules will strictly be adhered to. The Managing Committee reserves the right to change these timings. The staff will not be requested to remain beyond the scheduled hours nor will the clubhouse or any other part of it be kept open beyond the timings laid down except for specified occasional circumstances. The timings are displayed on the notice board. c) The charges for various facilities will change from time to time. Members are advised to ascertain the charges for the facilities 1

they choose to use. The changes are displayed on the notice board d) Complaints or suggestions should be made to the CEO/Secretary only in writing. A complaint cum Suggestion book is available at the Reception. 6. Food and Beverages including Alcoholic Beverages and other consumables are not permitted to be brought into the Club. II - ENTRY INTO THE CLUB Members must swipe their cards and in the event the machine is not working they may enter their names and Membership No. in the Register at the Reception Desk, before entering the Club. Similarly, whenever a Member introduces a guest/guests, he/she must additionally fill in the Guest slip available at the Reception Desk with the full name of the guest. III - CLUB & OFFICE HOURS 1. Entry to Club premises shall close at 11.30 p.m. on all days. 2. All Members shall ensure that they leave the Club premises before the closing time. The Club staff/security has been instructed to report the names of those Members who contravene these Rules. 3. Members shall not leave the Club premises before their guests leave. A Member shall ensure that his/her guest shall, at all times, be in the same place/section as himself/herself. 4. The Member shall be solely responsible for payment, other liabilities and behavior of his/her guest. 2

5. No person who is not well received in general society and who is debarred from the Club shall be introduced as a guest. IV - MINIMUM DRESS REQUIREMENT : 1. Members and their guests are required to maintain an appropriate standard of dress on all occasions. The Managing Committee specifies minimum dress standards from time to time. At present:a) Entry into the Club is not permitted in Night Suits, Lungis or loose Pyjamas. National dress suitably pressed may be allowed. b) Gents wearing shorts, singlets, sandow banian, sleeveless shirt, track suit and soiled or sweaty clothes are not allowed first floor upwards in the Bars, Dining Rooms, Banquets, Card Room, Billiards, Library, Board Room and Club Office except in the first floor lounge. c) Ladies wearing soiled or sweaty clothes are also not allowed in the above mentioned areas. Rubber/Hawaii chappals or Bathroom slippers are not permitted anywhere, first floor upward in the Club except around the swimming pool area. V - CHANGE IN MEMBER'S FAMILY: Any change, such as address, phone nos. mobile nos. of all family members, e-mail addresses, birth, death, marriage, divorce, adoption or any other change in a Member's family must be communicated to the Club with the relevant documents, within three months of the occurrence.

VI - GUESTS: 1. A Member and/or his/her spouse may introduce guests subject to such rules and Bye-laws and on payment of such charges as may from time to time be prescribed by the Managing Committee. Members shall, in every case, pay the charges for such entertainment and shall be responsible for their guest's observance of the rules of the Club including dress restrictions. 2. Persons introduced as guests must be such as those who would normally be eligible for Membership of the Club. No Member shall introduce to the Club, any person whose presence has previously been adjudged by the Managing Committee to be undesirable or whose Membership has been cancelled for any reason. 3. (a) A person shall not be introduced as a guest for more than six times in a calendar month, except in the Card Room for Kitty parties where the same guest is allowed for ten sessions except Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays between 2 - 6 p.m. There shall be no guest entry on Sundays and bank holidays. Any person introduced under this clause shall be restricted to the use of the Card Room Facilities alone. (b) If a person has already been introduced as a guest six times in any calendar month by one or more Members, no other Member shall introduce the same person as a guest in the same calendar month. (c) A maximum of six guests can be introduced on all days. Kitty parties however can also have upto six guests. (d) A maximum of four tables will be allowed for Kitty parties on a first cum first served basis. No prior booking of tables will be allowed. 4

4. In no circumstances shall any guest be permitted to order, sign or pay for any supplies. 5. The Member introducing a guest shall be responsible for the conduct and behavior of the guest. 6. The Member and/or his spouse introducing a guest/guests shall have to remain present along with his guests throughout the period such guests remain within the Club premises. VII - CHILDREN 1. a) A child for the purpose of these Rules is a person who has not reached 18 years of age. b) Children are not permitted to introduce guests, however, dependent children between the age of 18 - 25 years may be permitted to sign in guests only on receipt of a one-time letter of consent given in writing by the primary Member. c) All children must be in possession of their I.D. Cards and produce the same whenever asked for. 2. A) Children below 2 years of age 1. Children are not allowed / permitted in the Club except for Members' children within the stipulated timings in the swimming pool, other areas on the ground floor the children's library, Pavilion and Checkers accompanied by a parent. Use of Prams will be allowed in such cases. 2. Children are permitted to have snacks only near the pool and in the sea facing lounge on the 1st floor. 5

(B) Children below 7 years of age are permitted only on the lawns, the sea facing lounge on the 1st floor, the Children's Library and in the Restaurants. Children of all ages shall also be permitted to access the Pavilion, Checkers and other designated event areas in case of any organized functions and classes. (C) Children of all ages must maintain discipline and follow the rules and regulations of the club. 3. Members must obtain an I.D. Card for the children when the children attain the age of 5. Entry of children not having an I.D. Card may not be permitted. 4. Children under 12 years of age are not allowed in the Adult Library. V I I I - S C O O T E R S , R O L L E R S K AT E S , B I Y C L E S , PERAMBULATORS ETC. ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE CLUB PREMISES, WHEEL CHAIRS, WHERE REQUIRED ARE PERMITTED. HOWEVER, MEMBERS MAY PARK THEIR BI-CYCLES IN THE AREAS DESIGNATED BY THE MANAGING COMMITTEE FROM TIME TO TIME & ROLLER SKATES SHALL ONLY BE PERMITTED DURING SKATING CLASSES HELD IN THE CLUB PREMISES. IX - DOMESTIC HELP AND PERSONAL BODYGUARDS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER THE CLUB EVEN IF INTRODUCED AS GUESTS. X - MEMBERS AVAILING OF ANY OF THE SPORTS FACILITIES MUST SIGN THEIR GUESTS' NAMES ALONG WITH THEIR MEMBERSHIP NUMBERS AND SIGNATURE BEFORE COMMENCING USE OF THE PARTICULAR FACILITY.

XI - COACHES, INSTRUCTORS, TRAINERS, MARKERS ETC. The club has engaged the services of Coaches, Instructors, Trainers etc. for the various sports facilities for use by the Members. Members utilising their service must sign/swipe their cards for the same before commencing use. Direct arrangement with any of them for private / personal coaching, instruction or training without the prior written permission of the Club is strictly prohibited. XII - CLUB PROPERTY 1. Members shall pay for all articles of Club property lost, broken, and damaged by themselves, their guests or their children. The amount to be charged in each case shall be determined by the Managing Committee, at their sole discretion. 2. Members, their guests or children found removing any Club property will be subject to severe disciplinary action, including penalty. XIII - PERSONAL PROPERTY 1. The Club shall not be responsible for any loss of or damage to property of Members or their guests, including property in the lockers. 2. Members are requested not to leave behind their valuables unattended i.e., Mobile phones, Purses, Wallets, Gold ornaments, Spectacles, Watches etc. whilst they are playing games or in any

other areas of the Club. The Club/Catering staff will not be responsible for any articles, which have been lost or misplaced. Members are requested to keep their valuable articles in their own possession and safe custody. XIV 1. Food, Soft Drinks, Beverages and all consumables, in general, are not permitted to be served/eaten in the Reception lounge. 2. Liquor is not allowed to be carried out of the Bars. XV - MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, SINGING ETC. 1. Musical instruments, radios, tape recorders and transistors or any other instruments shall not be used in any part of the Club's premises. 2. Except for private parties for which accommodation has been specifically booked and for Club events, no music singing, cheering or speeches are allowed in the Club. XVI - PHONES 1. Mobile phones may be used only in the open areas of the club except during Club functions. 2. Mobile phones must be kept on silent (in vibrate mode) while entering the Club premises. Any ring or beep within the enclosed areas shall not be permitted. The Member or his guest shall receive the call and commence his conversation only after he has gone out of the enclosed area. Members must communicate this rule to their guests. 8

3. Any Member or / his guest found to be using the mobile phone in contravention of these rules shall be fined an amount of Rs. 200/- per offense and the said sum shall be directly debited to his/her account. 4. The following are the Club Board Numbers: 2644 1111, 2644 1160 - 66. Kindly phone at these numbers for any assistance. All the departments/facilities have extension numbers. XVII - PHOTOGRAPHY 1. Photography and video shooting is not allowed inside the Club premises except in the authorised areas for parties after the stipulated time. The focus of the video light or any other strong light shall not be in the direction of the Clubhouse or swimming area. 2. At Club functions, photography or video shooting is permitted only by the official photographer. XVIII - NO SMOKING AREAS Smoking is not allowed in enclosed areas of the Club. Smoking shall only be permitted in specific open areas as decided by the Managing Committee from time to time. Any person found violating this rule would be fined Rs.500/XIX - NOTICES & POSTERS Except Club notices, no notices may be displayed in the Club.

XX - SIGNING FACILITIES FOR MEMBERS CHILDREN Members' children are permitted to sign for all Club facilities, except to introduce Guests in the Club unless done in accordance with the clause VII 1 b above. XXI - RESERVATION OF CLUB PREMISES (Courtyard, Checkers, The Pavilion, Terrace, Board Room)

1. a) Members of the Club may book the Pavilion, Checkers and Board Room for all days (of the week) and the Courtyard and on all days except Sundays and Bank/Public Holidays. b) The Board Room can be booked only for meetings of the Board of Directors of Companies or such legal entities. c) Religious ceremonies, political and commercial functions and speeches are not permitted. d) The Club premises shall not be booked or used for any occasion whereby there is a sale of ticket, advertisements or any other commercial arrangements are involved. e) All requirements of food, snacks, beverages, furniture hire, lights, crockery, cutlery, linen etc. used for the occasion or function shall be arranged only from the Club Caterers / Contractors. 2. When any of the above parts of the Club premises are engaged under these rules, the Managing Committee may close the same for normal use for such period(s), as they may deem expedient.

3. The charges for the usage of such facilities are for time slots of 4 hours each. 4. Booking can only be made by Members of the Club, who have paid all their outstanding dues in full. As hosts, it will be responsibility of the Member to be present throughout the function, sign all bills and complete formalities of the party before departure. 5. Advance payment for party booking While booking the above mentioned facilities, Members will have to make an advance payment of 50% of the total anticipated bills as per the rates given in the Menu selected by them. 6. All arrangements for the party including the menu and supply of furniture and decorations must be registered in writing with the Manager Club House / Manager F & B at least 24 hours before the commencement of the party. 7. Booking will be treated as confirmed only after the advance payment is made. 8. Members booking for any of the above areas must ensure that their guests remain within the party area. Party guests moving into other areas of the Club is not permitted and if found the Member will be fined Rs.500/- per person. 9. Members can make a booking for a 4 hour period only. However, the same Member will be permitted to make another booking for a second 4 hours period at the additional charge in case the area is not booked by another Member and falls within the Club timings. 11

10. No food or drinks and beverages will be brought into the Club from outside. 11. Only snacks and beverages supplied by the Club are permitted in the Board Room. 12. The Member hosting the party will be responsible for any loss, breakage of crockery, cutlery, glassware etc. which will be paid for by him/her. 13. Rates of charges for a 4 hour booking will be inclusive of consolidated Guest Charges, Air conditioning and Electricity in the Pavilion, Checkers and Board Room areas. 14. Statutory Taxes will be levied extra wherever applicable. 15. Maximum of 10% guests in excess of the original booking will be catered for. Charges will be levied accordingly. XXII - PERMISSION TO SERVE LIQUOR Request for Liquor permission for the function, if required, must be made at least one week in advance. The Manager Club House may be contacted. However the bookings will be only confirmed if an advance payment is made as per rules within 24 hours of the booking. The payments are accepted only during the office working hours. Cancellation and Refund In the event of cancellation, the refund will be given as follows :-

a) Cancellation notice received 7 complete days and more, before the party, refund will be 75% of charges. b) Cancellation notice received between 3 complete days and 7 complete days refund will be 50% of charges. c) Cancellation notice received less than 3 complete days, no refund. XXIII - MEAL TIMINGS 1. Timings of the Pantry service and all the restaurants shall be adhered to. 2. The last order must be placed at least half an hour before closing time. Booking of Tables (In Bar and Restaurant) Booking of Tables is not permitted. Whilst waiting for other Members or guests, a Member may occupy only one table for not more than 10 minutes. No joining of tables and blocking the tables is permitted. XXIV - BAR TIMINGS 1. Bar timings must be adhered to 2. Any Liquor supplied in the Bars must be consumed in the Bars within the timings fixed for closing. 3. Liquor is not permitted to be carried out of the Bars.

4. Persons below the age of 21 years are not allowed to enter any of the Bars or consume any liquor. 5. After the closure of the Bars, Members and their guest are not permitted to remain in the lobby outside the bar. 6. Service of liquor / beer :Liquor in the Bar is served to permit holders only. Non permit holders above 21 years of age can have Beer or wine in other authorised areas of the Club except the Permit Room. XXV - SENIOR CITIZENS 1. Members above the age of 60 shall be eligible to a prevailing discount on food. XXVI - TEMPORARY AND PLAYING MEMBERSHIP 1. The fees for temporary Membership shall be as decided by the Managing Committee. 2. The fees for playing Membership shall be as decided by the Managing Committee. In addition to these general Club rules, the various departments / facilities may post a specific set of rules pertaining to that facility or department, these rules to be read in conjunction with those departmental rules.

The Management of the club will not be held liable for any death, injury, loss, damage accident or theft to any person or property that might occur on the premises of the club MEMBERS ARE TO ADHERE TO THE RULES, REGULATIONS AND GUIDELINES SET BY INDIVIDUAL FACILITIES FROM TIME TO TIME. ALL RULES MADE BY THE COMMITTEE FOR AREAS SUCH AS SWIMMING POOL, SQUASH, GYMNASIUM, BILLIARD ROOM, BRIDGE ROOM, ETC SHALL BE CONSIDERED A PART OF THESE RULES AND SHALL INVITE ACTION OF THE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE IF VIOLATED UPON. VIOLATION OF THESE RULES SHALL BE TAKEN UP BY THE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE. A SHOW CAUSE NOTICE SHALL BE SENT TO ANY MEMBER IN VIOLATION. THE MEMBER IN VIOLATION SHALL BE GIVEN 14 DAYS TIME TO SUBMIT A SUITABLE REPLY. THEREAFTER ACTION SHALL BE TAKEN BY THE COMMITTEE WHICH MAY INCLUDE A MONETARY FINE AND/OR SUSPENSION OF THE MEMBERS UPTO FOUR MONTHS. MEMBERS MAY PLEASE NOTE THAT FAILURE TO REPLY TO THE SHOW CAUSE NOTICE WITHIN THE STIPULATED TIME SHALL EMPOWER THE COMMITTEE TO TAKE EX-PARTE ACTION AGAINST THE VIOLATING MEMBER.
