INT. OUTSIDE MICHAEL'S APARTMENT. DAY Outside of MICHAEL's apartment which is a dull and depressing suburban block of low-end apartments. Puddles everywhere to signify it's roughness. Darkened down because of shadow of buildings in front of it so no sunlight hits his apartment which causes it to be very cold. outside of the apartment. MICHAEL shuts the door to his apartment and get's his keys out of his pocket and drops them out of his pocket onto the ground where he picks them up to then lock the front door to his apartment whilst getting ready to go to his interview. MICHAEL checks his hair and himself in a parked car window to see if he looks somewhat presentable. He looks scruffy and somewhat unkept with his longish sleeves on his blazer and tight trouser bottoms. His hair appears to be short with a slight bald patch on the back of his head with a few grey hairs due to his age of 39 and being middle aged. He has a few blemishes and wrinkles on his forehead with bags under his eyes. MICHAEL pulls suit sleeves cuffs up to make himself seem presentable due to the long sleeves covering his hands as they are so long. As he notices after seeing his appearance in the reflection. MICHAEL stumbles away from the car window to get on his way down on the way to the interview MICHAEL starts to breath heavily due to the nerves which causes him to get and get some shivers. but to cope with the nerves he takes a few breaths and puts in his earphones to play some music to settle him down. MICHAEL puts some earphones in his ears. MICHAEL then gets his phone out to play music, it is cracked and shattered. He starts the music by tapping aggressively due to the screen damage with the cracks with the volume turned of before he starts his journey to the interview. MICHAEL then comforts himself; he takes a deep breath, breathing in and out slowly. MICHAEL (speaking out loud to himself) It's show time. you can do this MICHAEL HART. When MICHAEL comforts himself the cold is apparent, as when he is outside near his apartment when he talks there is a

MICHAEL walks down the street but when the music kicks in he has a kick in his step whilst going the street on the way to the interview. Like he is in his own world. MICHAEL is walking down the street to the Interview he cheers people up around him and attempts to put their spirits up by giving out smiles and support. He first helps a man struggling to put furniture in a truck despite his weak persona. Man gives MICHAEL a handshake for the help. THANKFUL CIVILIAN (Gratefully) Thank you. Sir MICHAEL No problem. Anytime MICHAEL then carries on with his journey to the interview with a smile on his face from helping someone. A woman then rushes past MICHAEL and bumps into him accidentally with some power and force. which results into her shopping dropping out of her hands. The woman is ANNE. Similar height to MICHAEL (slightly shorter), middle aged, stressed, dresses up nicely and MICHAEL spots ANNE who dropped her groceries and shopping on the floor. After bumping into MICHAEL. ANNE (scared and worried) I'm sorry about that. I'll be out your way. MICHAEL removes earphone from ears. END OF MUSIC MICHAEL (reassuringly manner) Hey, don't you apologise. This is all perfectly justified. MICHAEL picks up shopping and helps by putting it back in the bag. ANNE scratches her head to avoid any awkward tension. ANNE begins to get embarrassed and shy towards MICHAEL. ANNE (Replies back all embarrassed) Thank you. Thanks for helping. By the way. I'm called Anne by the way. MICHAEL Michael. Nice to meet you 'Anne'. Are you off anywhere special? ANNE (Out of breath and exhausted) I'm just on my way home. To get this shopping in. MICHAEL (Asks with care) Oh. I can help with your shopping if you would like. ANNE adjusts her holding position with the groceries. So it is more comfortable for her to hold and grip. ANNE No need. Don't you worry I'm fine. To show how interested ANNE is she interrupts and jumps in without realizing and carries on speaking. ANNE Oh you are!. Is it anything special or impressive. MICHAEL smiles. MICHAEL Nothing too brilliant. Just a little job to get me going. ANNE Okay. I see. well good luck and I hope it goes well. 5. ANNE Very Funny. Take care. See you soon. Good luck. MICHAEL get's over joyous over meeting ANNE. He has a slight skip to his step when he now is on the way to the interview. INT. INTERVIEW ROOM. DAY The interview room is a large, professional room which is fully monochrome and modern. MICHAEL enters the interview room with pride and excitement. He walks in with a smile and and a cheesy grin to show of his personality to the INTERVIEWER. He then meets and shakes hands with the INTERVIEWER. INTERVIEWER (48), Successful, well-kept, dressed in a business fitted suit, creates contrast to MICHAEL and his cheap attire. Expensive watch on wrist. Tends to get frustrated easily.commonly seen when asked silly questions or when people aren't realistic as his only focus is on the job. INTERVIEWER Hello, MICHAEL pleasure to meet you. How are you? MICHAEL is still awkwardly standing behind his chair where he is staring at the INTERVIEWER waiting for the interview to start. MICHAEL I am feeling excellent. Thank you. The INTERVIEWER sits down. Notices MICHAEL still standing up looking lost and away in the clouds. INTERVIEWER Wonderful. please take a seat. MICHAEL sits down shaken and stressed. His leg starts to wobble and tremble whilst sitting down but then adjusts his position by sitting up in a presentable state and in a way to make himself seem friendly and not at all nervous. MICHAEL Oh yes! of course. INTERVIEWER Please, no need to apologise.

6. MICHAEL looks outside the window to his right whilst sitting down. MICHAEL Thank you. Thank you. Lovely Day. INTERVIEWER Isn't it so. Now MR HART tell me about yourself. MICHAEL laughs nervously and subtlety uncomfortably from the question he was being asked. MICHAEL (Nervously Sharing) Please. call me MICHAEL. Well what can I say... I have not got much history to share. MICHAEL starts to hear some shooting from and shooting which then puts him into a flashback where he relives his old horrors. FLASHBACK: EXT. BATTLEFIELD. NIGHT The battlefield is dark and full of fog. Which has minimal cover for MICHAEL. It is a dark gloomy field which is splattered full of blood and gore which is from MICHAEL'S allies where the enemy forces fire into the ally's where they get ripped to piece with the gunfire. The blood created splatters on MICHEAL's the enemies area appears to be a full concrete wall with barbed wire and full of heavy weaponry. With large sentry turrets and mounted machine guns which fire at MICHAEL and his fellow allies. MICHAEL takes cover from bullets coming towards him with allies and soldiers along with him dying and being mowed down with bullets with the blood of the dead soldiers being splattered all over MICHAEL and his surroundings and all the death MICHAEL witnessed being all around him. MICHAEL'S face close up in a face full of fear and anguish with bullets shooting past him. Which starts to transition back into the INTERVIEW ROOM where MICHAEL currently is which then goes from the bloody, broken and dirtied up face to his face where it is clean with no dirt or blood but has a broken down emotion from reliving the past. END FLASHBACK

7. INT. INTERVIEW ROOM. DAY Same shot of MICHAEL'S face close up in the same position in a face but he is dazing away whilst he was reliving his past which then transitions him back into reality and the current time in the INTERVIEW ROOM. MICHAEL's leg starts to nervously shake when he goes back to the question. MICHAEL (stuttering) Well in my personal life I am not at all interesting. But my life in employment I would say I'm outgoing and as free as a bird to do what anyone pleases. MICHAEL looks away and loses eye contact with the INTERVIEWER to speak to himself under his breath MICHAEL (To himself) In some circumstances. INTERVIEWER Okay I see. If you don't mind me bringing this up but it appears you you have quite the craze about taking on job interviews. You have been on retail job interviews, customer services and care. How come you have never taken these jobs on. Why is that?. MICHAEL I just want to take care of myself without limiting myself. After the interviewer hears that MICHAEL has took on so many interviews which have been successful he starts to think to himself that MICHAEL is up to something and only there at the interview for the money. The INTERVIEWER pulls out a pen with a notepad from his navy blue designer laptop bag. He starts to write about his suspicions of MICHAEL's actions and energy. He writes in regards to MICHAEL being 'Seems to be here for only one reason, could be for monetarily benefit, doesn't seem to realistic and responsible'

8. Begins to get frustrated by MICHAEL'S nervous and sporadic energy as he believes MICHAEL is not there for the experience and just for what he gets in return. Through the suspicion of not being on any successful jobs. INTERVIEWER (In a snarky matter) Anyway I must ask... so MICHAEL. What are you planning to achieve from working with us. Honestly? The INTERVIEWER starts to try and get around MICHAEL to see what he really wants and why he wants it. But the his short tempered persona partially starts to creep in due to confusion to what MICHAEL is there for. The INTERVIEWER starts to tense up his hands on the top of the desk ready to slam his hand on the desk. MICHAEL What do you mean? I have came here to work. Is that what you want... is that what you mean?. The interviewer slightly places his hand on the table which appears to be still slightly tensed up with his veins popped out. MICHAEL begins to show of his jokey and sarcastic ways to help release any tension which may rise. MICHAEL Hey. You never know I could be somewhat a secret spy. INTERVIEWER (confused) What?. MICHAEL can you listen and focus up? MICHAEL starts to somewhat attempt to get round the INTERVIEW and to try and impress him. MICHAEL (Humored) Oh yes. Sorry! Anyways where was I? Oh yes the Interview! Ha Ha! The INTERVIEWER starts to get seriously frustrated.

9. INTERVIEWER (Slightly Angered) No!...MICHAEL I am simply just asking you what you want out of this job. Or what would you want when you take this job on. It's not that difficult MICHAEL starts to adjust his seating position. MICHAEL Realistically. All I want to do is something worth while... and to experience new things before my time is up. After the INTERVIEWER hears this response he goes down and get's into absolute shock. His face starts to rise up and begin to be shocked his mouth is open with a slight smile afterwards after the realization that MICHAEL isn't simply here just for monetary side of his job but for something different entirely. INTERVIEWER Well...MICHAEL I wasn't expecting you to say that... I think we can help you with that MICHAEL. With the INTERVIEWER being shocked he starts to change his pace and feelings towards MICHAEL. He does this by aligning up with MICHAEL's position to make MICHAEL more comfortable. MICHAEL (Asks curiously and confused) You are?.... why what made you not expect that. If you don't mind me asking MICHAEL sits up straight to listen and find out why he said it. He leans forward to show that he is interested to what the INTERVIEWER has to say. INTERVIEWER You're just different MICHAEL. You seem to take everything on. With a smile on your face. It surprises me for how positive and optimistic you seem. When MICHAEL hears this he starts to put a smile on his face because of the approval of his politeness and kindness, etc. Because of the realization he may have a chance as not many

10. interviews are successful at all and it is now the first time someone gave him a compliment in an interview MICHAEL Thank you. This is the first time anyone ever properly complimented me so thank you. It means a lot I have had a lot of interviews turned down. But I always say the time will come for the best of opportunities to come. INTERVIEWER Exactly. I agree with you MICHAEL. Well we hope this is an opportunity you will be willing to take on. MICHAEL I will. It sounds. MICHAEL starts to feel a vibration from his pocket where his phone is vibrating. His pockets start to move slightly with the vibration. MICHAEL holds his hand over his pocket to reduce the vibration noises. MICHAEL's face starts to change. His eyes start to expand with shock after feeling the vibration in his pocket. He is curious to find who is texting. MICHAEL starts to subtlety find a way to try and find who rang him. By turning around to find a bin and where he could come up with a plan to check his phone secretly. MICHAEL I hope you don't mind. but may I empty my pockets they are quite full. I just need to empty it in the bin. After the INTERVIEWER hears this he starts to be curious and confused on why MICHAEL suddenly needs to go to the bin. The interviewer pulls a intrigued yet confused face. INTERVIEWER (confused) Okay?. Of course. don't you worry take your time MICHAEL heads towards the bin and pretends he is putting rubbish in the bin. Whilst MICHAEL is at the bin he discretely checks his phone to see who is calling him. But before he can check to see who

11. contacted him the INTERVIEWER intervenes. INTERVIEWER So MICHAEL have you had any line of employment?. MICHAEL sits back down and whilst he does this he puts his phone on the desk behind the INTERVIEWERS monitor in a way to hide it but forgets to turn of the vibration of his phone whilst he was trying to check who called him when attempting to look through his recent calls. MICHAEL Yes. when I was younger I had a few small jobs and then I had... don't worry. INTERVIEWER (sarcastically) Okay. I see well at least you have had at least one job. MICHAEL Yeah. That's one thing. So if you don't mind may I ask you something MICHAEL starts to lose eye contact with the INTERVIEWER due to the questions he will ask. He first looks at the walls and places his hang on his head to make the delivery of what he is gonna say. MICHAEL asks about how the job will be and if it offers any new experiences. INTERVIEWER Of course. What do you wish to ask? MICHAEL Does this job ever involve with going out there in the field?. And doing anything adventurous. INTERVIEWER No not exactly, our workers currently always stay inside. They very rarely go outside. For work that is. MICHAEL Oh okay thank you. I hope you don't mind me... Before MICHAEL speaks his phone starts to vibrate. Which cuts him off. As it vibrates the table and distracts him and the

12. INTERVIEWER. INTERVIEWER Is that your phone?. MICHAEL My god. I'm so sorry. I mustn't have turned it off when I got here. The INTERVIEWER get's a little irritated by this and he starts to get a more professional/aggressive tone. INTERVIEWER (Slightly Aggressively) It's okay. Now can you please turn it off!. MICHAEL checks to see who is ringing him and notices 'Work' is calling. He starts to panic and his leg starts to tremble. His heart starts pounding. MICHAEL It's off. It's off. MICHAEL puts his phone in his pocket where he can still feel but he can't see it. From the vibrations that stab into his leg. MICHAEL starts to really panic. He starts to sweat with his skin turning red over stress and panic. CLOSE UP ON THE SWEAT DRIPPING DOWN MICHAEL'S FACE TO SHOW HIS FEAR AND PANIC. WITH THE SOUNDS OF HIS HEART BEATING WITH RAPIDLY. The INTERVIEWER catches on that MICHAEL is breaking down and gets confused. Starts to look MICHAEL up and down. Reaches out to MICHAEL. INTERVIEWER What is the matter? Are you still with me? MICHAEL starts to relax on the outside but still looks stressed and scared whilst keeping a smile. MICHAEL fans his shirt to try and show and convince he is fine to the INTERVIEWER. MICHAEL I'm fine don't you worry. Just hot

13. that is all. INTERVIEWER Are you sure? You look like you've seen a ghost. MICHAEL avoids the question and attempts to carry on with the interview and to brush it off. MICHAEL So where were we?. Sorry back to normal now. Just had a moment with the heat. The INTERVIEWER looks around at the windows and the outside to ask MICHAEL. INTERVIEWER Okay okay. Well you can always open a window or go outside for a second. If it is nerves Michael, then you don't have to panic. MICHAEL Thank you. It's fine, honestly, please don't worry. MICHAEL'S phone starts to vibrate in his pocket again. Catches MICHAEL of guard again. MICHAEL'S phone rings and rings. Doesn't stop ringing. INTERVIEWER So. Michael how do you feel this interview went?. MICHAEL'S phone vibrates again and MICHAEL starts to panic again. He starts to get thoughts of leaving. MICHAEL looks at the door behind him. Losing eye contact with the INTERVIEWER. MICHAEL Thank you. That means a lot. Thank you.
