Arrive in New Delhi Welcome to India! On arrival in Delhi, make your own way to our hotel or if you have purchased transfers, look for the representative to take you to our hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure until this evening when you’ll meet your tour manager and your fellow single travelers at 6pm in our hotel for a welcome orientation meeting for our trip and a briefing on the incredible journey in India that awaits you. Overnight: New Delhi DAY 3, March 28 Old & New Delhi City Tour We begin our exploration for the day in the walled city of Old Delhi, founded by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan. We’ll travel along the winding streets to Jama Masjid, the largest and best-known mosque in India. On a cycle rickshaw, we continue along the lanes of Chandi Chowk, once the imperial avenue of Mughal royalty. After lunch, it’s on to New Delhi, a city of airy boulevards, lush parks and gardens. We’ll visit the Sikh Temple and drive past the imposing India Gate War Memorial to Indian and British soldiers, Parliament House and the Presidential Palace. Enjoy a visit to the Gandhi Smriti, the official residence and museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi where he spent the last 144 days of his life. The tour continues with a visit to Humayun's Tomb set in stunning gardens, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tonight is at leisure to begin your discovery of Indian cuisine at one of the fine regional restaurants. (B,L) Overnight: New Delhi DAY 4, March 29 Travel to Jaipur After breakfast, we depart New Delhi to Jaipur, gateway to the desert state of Rajasthan. En route, we’ll stop for some photos at the graceful sandstone Qutab Minar Victory Tower, the world's tallest brick minaret, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We later arrive in glorious Jaipur, with its stucco buildings lining the wide streets and you'll understand why it is nicknamed the “Pink City.” The city was painted its unique color in 1876 to celebrate the visit of the Prince of Wales. We’ll drive past stunning hilltop forts and glorious palaces on the way to a bargain-filled bazaar and we’ll visit a beautiful jewelry shop. Dinner is enjoyed together as a group tonight at the hotel. (B,D) Overnight: Jaipur DAY 5, March 30 Amber Fort, Jaipur Today we take an amazing excursion to the spectacular Amber Fort, a stunning fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles with its gorgeous Palace of Mirrors. We’ll ascend the hill to the ramparts by jeep and from here we’ll see the panoramic views of Jaipur's original city walls and the lake below. We’ll stop for refreshments before browsing a local Rajasthan textile and handicrafts store with silkweaving, embroidery, clothing and carpets created by the villagers and then spend the afternoon at leisure strolling through the city's delightful gardens. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore. Tonight maybe try one of the local restaurants for dinner with others from the group. (B) Overnight: Jaipur DAY 6, March 31 Jaipur to Ranthmabhore National Park After breakfast, we transfer to Ranthambhore National Park (3 Hrs.). The drive is through the rural Rajasthan and there are multiple photo opportunities. Sawai Madhopur itself (the community located next to Ranthambore) is a rural small town, and you will drive through it to get a glimpse of life. Upon arrival we’ll check into our hotel and enjoy lunch. This afternoon we’ll visit the Ranthambhore Fort, a must-see for all visitors to Ranthambhore! The fort has many ruins and interesting temples and the views of the lakes and mountains in the park is breathtaking. We return to our hotel for evening dinner together. Singles Travel Company DAY 7, April 1 Ranthambhore National Park Early this morning (approx. 7 – 10:30am) we’ll go for a Jungle safari in Ranthambhore National Park! After lunch we enjoy another safari (approx. 2 – 5:30pm). (PLEASE NOTE…you must sign up early to be assured we can get the tickets for this. If you don’t sign up in time and we can’t get you on it…deduct $55 from the tour price.) The Ranthambore National Park is one of the finest tiger reserves in the country, one of India's Tiger Projects, and is one of the best places in the India to see these majestic predators in a jungle setting (but not guaranteed). One of the most visited wildlife parks in India, its setting is perfect for the wildlife lover and photographers who are interested in wildlife photography. Back at the hotel enjoy dinner together as a group to and discuss your safari day! (B,L,D) Overnight: Ranthambhore Day 8, April 2 Ranthambhore To Agra After breakfast, we transfer from Ranthambhore to Agra (260 Km, 6 Hrs.), and on the way we’ll visit Fatehpur Sikri and also have lunch. This red sandstone city was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in AD 1564 in honour of the Muslim saint Sheikh Salim Chisthi. Fatehpur Sikri was intended to be the capital city but the shortage of water and unrest in the north-west made Akbar abandon it after 14 years. One of the major attractions of this city is the marble tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisthi. We continue our drive to Agra, where we enjoy dinner together this evening at our hotel. The rest of the night is at leisure - maybe find a local night spot to enjoy time with some locals! (B,L,D) Overnight: Agra DAY 9, April 3
Taj Mahal You’ve heard so much about it - today you’ll finally see it - the memorable and astonishing Taj Mahal, built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his beloved Queen. Some say this is the most perfect architectural monument in the world, built of white marble and precious stones over a 22 year period - considered the finest example of Mughal architecture in the world. Our afternoon is at leisure and your guide will have suggestions as to what to do or just go exploring! (B) Overnight: Agra
DAY 10, April 4 Agra to New Delhi - afternoon flight to Delhi - Varanasi We depart Agra this morning and return to New Delhi (4-5 hour drive) and take our afternoon flight to Varanasi, built on the banks of the sacred River Ganges. For centuries, pilgrims have come here for blessings and purification in the holy waters and Varanasi is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. We travel this evening to Dasawamedh Ghat on the Ganges River, aglow with oil-lamps and candles. Witness the unique collective prayer known as the "Aarti" ceremony - watch as the floating oil lamps illuminate the river and a group of priests perform the choreographed musical ritual with lamps, incense, and conch shells in perfect harmony, making their offerings to the deities. The entire atmosphere at river side is lively and bright and is a not-to-be-missed experience as it is one of the most important and popular ceremonies of the Hindu faith. (B) Overnight: Varanasi DAY 11, April 5 Ganges Boat Ride, Hindu Temples Visit & Sarnath Sightseeing Today we rise before dawn for a boat ride on the Ganges to witness the solemn sunrise ceremonies. Witness the riverbanks humming with activity as Hindu devotees perform their rituals on the steps ("ghats") and offer prayers to the rising sun. Then on to the Bharat Mata Temple with its marble relief map of an undivided India, Durga Temple and Benaras Hindu University. After our early morning excursion above, we’ll return to the hotel for breakfast. Later we’ll visit a local textile store famous for authentic silk and brocades. Then there is leisure time for shopping in the bustling bazaars before driving to Sarnath, the holy city where Buddha preached his first sermon after attaining Nirvana. The major events of Buddha's life are depicted in colorful wall paintings. Visit the Deer Park, Museum and Buddhist Temple. Tonight, we bid farewell to our new-found friends and tour manager at a farewell dinner at the Radisson Hotel Restaurant - The Great Kabab Factory. (B,D) Overnight: Varanasi

Upon arrival, we transfer to our airport location hotel to freshen up before our late evening transfer (if you purchase a transfer) to the airport for all flights departing to the USA/Canada near midnight. Departure - Fly out LATE (around midnight) the night of Monday, April 6 (or early (1am or so on April 7) from Delhi (DEL) arriving home April 7 (depends on your flight schedule). Singles Travel Company Activity Level: This trip is for the single person who is active & includes a lot of walking excursions, keeping up with group activities, & exploring. It is an active adventure trip & requires such things as getting into and out of jeeps, some bumpy roads, and convenience facilities and restaurants are not always at your beckon while on touring. You need to be healthy, flexible, and able to accommodate to your wonderful and exotic surroundings easily. Age Group: late 30’s, mostly 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Meet the Group: Prior to leaving (a few weeks before the trip) you will receive your fellow travelers emails. Also our social host will email the group too at that time. Get to know your travel companions before the trip! Weather: The summer in India (March to May) is a perfect time for visiting and is warm – 80’s & 90’s. India has three seasons. November through March is generally pleasant, with warm, sunny days. Monsoon season usually begins around June on the west coast and slightly later elsewhere. Please check www.weather.com right before traveling for more up to the minute temperatures. Clothes: Bring comfortable walking shoes, clothes you can layer and an outer all weather cover-up. Religious sites require modest dress to enter (no shorts, short skirts, or sleeveless tops). Pack light cotton clothes such as loose cotton shirts, T-shirts, & baggy pants. Long-sleeved tops and pants are useful for protection from mosquitoes in the evenings and early mornings. Take a sun hat or scarf to cover your head in the heat, and don't forget sunglasses. Final Documents will contain a lot more information on what to bring and what to expect when traveling to India. These documents come about 10-14 days prior to the trip. Fine Print- India - 2015 Your payment for a reservation on this trip constitutes consent and acknowledgment of all the provisions in this Fine Print listed below and in the Singles Travel Company General Terms and Conditions. Please make sure you read both of these important pieces of information and call us with any questions. Per our tour operator the hotels are subject to change. Deposit: $400 by credit card or check is due with your reservation. Taking deposits now. Final payment is due 90 days prior to departure date. Cancellation Fees and Refunds all cancellations must be in writing. At any time of your cancellation there will be a Singles Travel Company $100 administrative fee. Cancellations made 91 days or more prior to departure are fully refundable except for the $100 Singles Travel Company cancellation fee. Cancellations 90 days and less prior to departure date will receive no refund of monies paid. No refunds on unused portions of the tour. Cancellation fees also apply to additional accommodations reserved prior to and after the tour booked with the tour operator of the trip. After airline tickets are issued, airline cancellations are per the airline’s policy and are usually nonrefundable and changeable with a fee plus new ticket price.
