Sales Support Toshiba has incorporated the SpectraLink product into its regional Sales Training program. Placement of access points for 802.11 wireless LAN’s needs to be configured by the IT resources building the LAN. However, SpectraLink can provide an approximate count of how many access points are needed.

Technical Documentation Installation/administration manuals, user guides, and quick reference guides are available on SpectraLink’s website at www.spectralink.com under Service/Manuals and Toshiba’s Strata Documentation Library CD-ROM. To find the most current version, check the SpectraLink website.

Training & Certification Technical training and certification are highly recommended but not required for authorized Toshiba dealer purchase of SpectraLink equipment from Toshiba. For dealers who are not trained or do not wish to install SpectraLink wireless systems themselves, installation services provided by SpectraLink can be purchased from Toshiba. Post installation technical support from Toshiba will only be provided to authorized Toshiba dealers who are certified. Uncertified dealers must call and pay SpectraLink directly for post-installation technical support. Certification is based on passing technical training courses provided by Toshiba or SpectraLink. SpectraLink offers courses at SpectraLink University in Boulder, CO, tuition for which is included in the Toshiba price book. An on-line training course is available from Toshiba that includes both training and certification for the SpectraLink WTS. This course is free of charge to authorized Toshiba dealers and is available through the TOTAL website. The course does not include NetLink. NetLink training is offered by SpectraLink.

Pricing

Toshiba recognizes SpectraLink certification and dealers already certified should inform Marilyn Goldin (949) 583-3740 to have that certification registered with Toshiba. The Toshiba on-line training results in certification for Toshiba dealers only and will not be recognized by SpectraLink should the certified technician move to a non-Toshiba dealer. By virtue of Toshiba’s distribution agreement with SpectraLink, Authorized Toshiba Dealers may arrange to have SpectraLink conduct technical training at their locations. The dealer will need to pay tuition.

Pricing SpectraLink is now included in the Authorized Toshiba Dealer Price Book and the Toshiba National Accounts Price Book now available on FYI. The inclusion of technical support, warranty replacement, and quota retirement with SpectraLink equipment purchased from Toshiba is an important advantage over the same equipment purchased from other supply sources that do not include these services.

Availability The SpectraLink WTS and NetLink products are now available from Toshiba and orders from authorized Toshiba dealers and National Accounts customers are now being accepted.
