D Malaysian Team “Yoodo Gank” Crowned As PMPL SEA Finals S1 Champion

espite the Covid-19 pandemic, the PUBG Mobile Professional League (PMPL) Spring League 2020 still managed to continue on. With a US$150,000 prize pool, the tournament saw 16 of the best PUBG Mobile teams in Southeast Asia compete. Yoodo Gank from Malaysia managed to snag the championship title with 284 points collected in 15 rounds. The team bagged US$30,000 and a slot in the PUBG Mobile Worlds tournament.

On top of that, the team also was awarded the Most Popular Malaysian Team, The Most Chicken Dinners Collected (they managed to grab five Chicken Dinners in total) and the Best Player Award. These awards netted them an extra US$44,000 in cash. For those unfamiliar with the team, the Yoodo Gank team comprises of four players which are Aiman “Man Parang” Mohamad as the captain, Abdul Azim “Draxx” Ikromi Abdul Rashid, Muhamad “Jumper” Izzrudin Hashim and Ahmad “Fredo” Fuad Razali.

KUALA LUMPUR: Yoodo Gank has made Malaysian proud as they had claimed the Southeast Asia (SEA) Champions title in the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) SEA Finals 2020 Season One, last night.

Team Yoodo Gank was one of the three Malaysian teams to battle against 13 other teams from across the region, in this competition. Additionally, Yoodo Gank also won USD 3,000 and USD 5,000 for the Most Popular Team and Gunkiller Player categories respectively. Team Bigetron Red Aliens from Indonesia won second place and took home USD 20,000, while team King of Gamers Club from Thailand bagged the third-place prize of USD 15,000. The winning teams will join three other teams, including Team Secret, also from Malaysia, that will now advance to the PUBG MOBILE World League. Team Secret secured a spot in the World League after being announced champions of the PMPL MY/SG S1 last month. The PMPL SEA Finals S1 was streamed live on each country’s official PUBG MOBILE Facebook page.

Esports Team Yoodo Gank Sets Malaysia Record as First Team to Win SEA Level PUBG Mobile Tournament Congratulations are in order for team Yoodo Gank! The mobile esports team has recently set an official national record for being the first team in Malaysia to win the PUBG Mobile Tournament at Southeast Asia Level. For winning the recently concluded PUBG MOBILE Pro League (PMPL) 2020: Southeast Asia, the team’s achievement is now immortalised in the Malaysia E-sports National Records, after being conferred the award by the Malaysia Book of Records.

“Yoodo is passionate about esports and we have dedicated significant time and resources to growing the grassroots talents in the country with the aim of solidifying Malaysia’s name in the global arena. Receiving this award shows that we are heading in the right direction and will drive us to dig deeper into supporting local gaming talent,” added Tuck Mun.

Speaking about the achievement, Yoodo Gank Team Captain, Aiman “ManParang” Amirul said;

“We are extremely proud of the boys for their incredible achievement,” said Chow Tuck Mun, Head of Yoodo. “To have their phenomenal performance acknowledged b y the Malaysia Book of Records is truly an honour and just what the boys deserve after all their hard work.”

“Receiving this award and being named as the “First Team to Win PUBG MOBILE Tournament at Southeast Asia Level is truly the biggest highlight of our careers. Sure, we have won many titles locally and now regionally, but to have our names go down in the book of records is a whole other level of awesome!”
