H.G.H.S. Library News Our makeover – come and see Over the last few weeks the Library has undergone a makeover and is now looking fabulous. It now has lots more face-out display in the Fiction end making book choice so much easier with the cover to attract you – not that you should necessarily “judge a book by its cover”. This is a great space to enjoy a read and really warm now that winter is approaching. We have already added over 150 new books to the Library this year – most of these are displayed in our New Books section – check this out for the latest titles.
Accelerated Reader competition Which Year 9 form class is going to win this year? Great prizes on offer so get into the Library, choose some books at your reading level and earn points for your class. Also become a more competent reader by immersing yourself in books.
Help!!! There are too many books out that should have been returned or renewed by now. Please help us keep books circulating and save on time and energy spent sending out overdue notices and chasing up books.

LIANZA has announced the finalists for the Children’s Book Awards See them at the link below http://www.lianza.org.nz/news/2014/jun/9/teen-fiction-sneaks-extra-title-lianza-youngadult-finalists The finalists in the New Zealand Post awards for children’s books will be announced in July.
“The Fault in Our Stars” Probably the most popular young adult novel at the moment with the release of the film. The Library has just ordered extra copies to cope with demand! You can reserve a copy at the Library.
