Alliah Rain V. Balaccua IX - Mindfulness Ms. Arquero

WHAT I CAN DO 2. After viewing, do the following: A. Identify the main idea as well as the minor ideas presented by the speaker. B. Determine whether the ideas presented are relevant and truthful using the format on Activity 1 & 2. Do not forget to include your reasons.

ASSESSMENT 1. “Ask Not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” - John Fitzgerald Kennedy What our nation or the globe has to offer us should not be a concern. The question should be about what we can do for our country. For example, our country or the entire planet meets all of our wants. The benefits we receive from our nation would not be feasible without our efforts. We won't be able to consume fruits until we grow trees. We won't be able to use paper until we grow trees. Our country and the rest of the world do not rely on us. We are the ones that rely on our environment to live. 2. “Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plan.” - Robert Louis Stevenson We don't have to be concerned about being paid for all of our hard work every day. We should take care of the seeds that we planted or intended to plant. All of our hard efforts will be rewarded at the appropriate moment. We don't have to assume that every effort we make will be rewarded. For example, we put forth a lot of effort to make money. Do we get the money we desire in a fraction of a second? Even a ten-peso coin cannot be obtained in a fraction of a second. As a result, we don't have to be concerned about what we get. Instead, we must be concerned with what we accomplished during the day. Our efforts are sometimes the ones that make it worthwhile.

ASSESSMENT 3. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela Education is the only thing that has the power to alter the world. We were all once children. A child is unaware of all that is going on around him or her. We then go to school to learn. We were more aware of reality as a result of our education. We grew more conscious of our surroundings and the entire universe around us. We began to consider what was going on around us as well as possible remedies. We can be rid of this disease that is spreading, just as we can be free of the current condition. How? We can defend ourselves against viruses if we are informed on the facts and specifics about the viruses that are currently circulating. 4. “The COVID vaccine must be considered a global public good.” - Pres. Rodrigo R. Duterte The COVID 19 vaccination is for everyone, not just us. It is in the best interests of the entire globe. Let's pretend you're in a public area. You haven't been vaccinated and don't know if you're a viral carrier. You opted to test with COVID 19 after a few days. It was discovered that you are a virus carrier. As a result, you have no idea who this infection has infected. You won't be able to spread the illness to many individuals if you get yourself vaccinated beforehand. Also, if you test positive for covid 19, you won't have as big of a reaction to the virus. As a result, we've established that such immunizations help not just oneself, but also our entire globe.

ASSESSMENT 5. “Garbage is one of the major problems the government addresses. Metro Manila alone produces an average of 8,000 tons of waste daily. If left uncollected, this will pose health hazards to the public.” Garbage is one of the most prominent problems in our country. Every day, a large amount of rubbish is created in our nation. Even though our manufacturers have made several changes to their goods, it remains a concern today. Our countries' food producers and supermarkets have created a lot of environmentally friendly packaging. In most of our cities, the usage of plastics is outlawed. This waste may make people sick, and it can even harm animals. In the 1990s, the Pasig River in our nation was deemed biologically dead due to its waste and a terrible stench. It is also claimed to be the most polluted river on the planet. Similar to the waste in this river, they may pollute the water in it, which is utilized by many people.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES I. Viewing B. Answer each question below. 1. What is the video clip about? The video clip is all about people in a community road helping each other without hesitating and without expecting for a payback. 2. What is the idea expressed by the video clip? The idea that is expressed by the video clip is that sometimes kindness itself is the one who makes it way to be paid back and be worth it. Another, the video clip tells us that when someone helped us, we also maybe encouraged to also help people around us. A small act of kindness greatly helps our planet grow continously. There won't be end with kindness. I can also say that this video clip shows how fulfilling it is to help others, we can greatly see the smiles in the faces of people who helped someone in the video also. Thus, this video clip encourages us to help any people around us who are in need without expecting for a payback and without hesitations. There is nothing wrong with helping others to survive in this very volatile world. 3. Is the idea relevant and truthful? Why? The idea presented in the video clip is relevant. It is not directly stated in the video clip and can change depending on the person watching it. Thus, I can say it's more like an opinion or based from the understanding of a person who viewed the clip.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES 4. How can you apply that idea in your life? Cite a specific situation to show it. I can apply these ideas in my daily life by doing good deeds even in the simplest way that I can do. I will not think of helping others as a requirement to be paid back but a blessing itself. I should be thankful of the willingness that is inside of me to serve others and help them live in this volatile world joyous, healthy, and convenient. For example, I found a wallet on the road. I turned it into the lost and found quickly as I can. I didn't think of the payment or the gifts that the owner may give me. This act of kindness will give me happiness and the sense of fulfillment. Even if the owner of the wallet didn't get the chance to meet me, I know that he/she is encouraged to also help others in need.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES II. Reflection What is the importance or relevance of this lesson – Determining the relevance and truthfulness of ideas in your everyday life and in this present situation of holding classes? The significance or applicability of this lesson in my daily life and in my current scenario of holding lessons is that I will be able to distinguish what is merely someone's viewpoint. I'll also be able to figure out what information I should trust. This lesson is critical, especially in light of the current infodemic. There is a wealth of information and facts available concerning the virus and the epidemic. If we obtain such incorrect information, our health may be jeopardized. I shouldn't merely agree with anything my professors and classmates say when holding or having discussions. I shouldn't just accept whatever my teacher gives me in the form of clips and words. There are a variety of internet-based publications that can be regarded as relevant or truthful. Besides, online classes are widely implemented nowadays. I should be able to tell which information is accurate and which information is simply someone's opinion. The knowledge or lessons I gain in school will continue to be relevant in the future. As a result, I should double-check if these are correct.

POST TEST A. Read the short passage below, then answer the questions that follow. 1. The selection is about ________________. B. True Happiness 2. According to the text, people seek money and position for ______________. A. Happiness 3. The word in the paragraph which means truth or maxim. B. Truism 4. “It” in sentence 9 refers to ______. C. Happiness 5-10. Write down ideas presented in the paragraph which are considered true. - The more power we try to find happiness in material things and try to get things from the people, the more happiness eludes us. - Happiness is a state of mind. - We all want to be happy. - Happiness is peace of the spirit, a deep contentment arising from the conviction that what we have is sufficient for our needs, that we envy no one, that we do not seriously exchange places with anyone. - Happiness is a feeling of appreciation, of value for our separate and individual blessings. - We seek money and position because we think that these things will bring us happiness.

POST TEST B. Essay The health and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic is a bitter reminder of how global problems like the climate change can “bring about destruction and chaos to any nation. I agree with this important point made in the essay. The COVID 19 outbreak reminded us that global crises may devastate and destabilize any country. This pandemic made us aware of the potential for future calamities. The pandemic taught us that prevention is always preferable than treatment. It is usually preferable to act sooner rather than later, before millions of lives are devastated by global crises. The pandemic taught us to be vigilant of everything around us, even if it isn't a threat. Within the pandemic, I also gained a great deal of knowledge. I understood that certain things could be perplexing for us, particularly if they occur unexpectedly. Global issues, as stated in the text, can cause ruin and anarchy in any country. We can, however, make it less severe if we have the will to study and understand more. We can deduce that people are sleeping on knowledge that is critical to everyone. People love to relax and have a good time to the point where they become irresponsible. We have no idea that the activities we engage in contribute to global warming. We are unaware that the acts we engage in might cause significant harm to others as well. Rather, the entire globe.

POST TEST As a result, we should be eager to learn more about our surroundings by now. It is up to us to decrease the havoc that this pandemic has brought us. Everything we do should be done with caution. Remember that our environment does not look to us for its requirements. Instead, it is employed by those who seek our survival requirements from our surroundings. Because of our wrongdoings and sleepy brains, things that we see now may not be present in the future. Hold tight! We may still be confronted with global concerns in the future.
