MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Welcome everyone back to Island City Stage. In dealing with this pandemic, all theaters have been challenged to bring “live” productions back to our Community. Our upside-down world has presented us with an opportunity to be creative in offering various entertainment options and presentation choices. The Board and Staff know that everyone’s safety is our highest priority for our patrons, volunteers, and actors. That is why our first production, Dixie’s Happy Hour is being presented both live and virtually. Island City Stage follows all the strict guidelines established by government agencies and Actors Equity for all live productions this season. We are so grateful for all our patrons who have been generous in contributing to our Phoenix Fund and donating their unused theater tickets. This has greatly sustained Island City Stage during the pandemic and allowed us to “rise up” and launch our 9th Season this month! I want to thank Andy Rogow and Marty Childers for their commitment and efforts during this time as well as our engaged and generous Board of Directors. Also, I would like to recognize and thank Scott Clearwater who has served as our Board President for the past year, for his commitment and support as a Board Member over the past years. Thank YOU for supporting Island City Stage. Ed Hashek Board President Island City Stage | 2304 N. Dixie Highway | Wilton Manors, Florida 33304 islandcitystage.org

WHO’S WHO KRIS ANDERSSON [Dixie Longate] Nearly two decades ago, Dixie Longate was “born” in a livingroom, andhercharismaand charm soon made her the top selling Tupperware salesperson in the US. Since that auspicious beginning, Kris has portrayed Dixie in multiple countries for hundreds of thousands of people, and in 2007, Dixie’s Tupperware Party ran off-Broadway garnering a prestigious Drama Desknomination for Outstanding Solo Performance. Kris’ other original productions include Dixie’s: Never Wear a Tube Top While Riding a Mechanical Bull (and 16 other things I learned while I was drinking last Thursday) which was co-produced by the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and enjoyed a lengthy national run. As many arts organizations are struggling to keep the doors open, Kris created Dixie’s Happy Hour to offer support to the theater community. Proceeds from this production, which will begin streaming nationwide this month, will benefit participating theaters and arts centers.

ANDY ROGOW [ICS Artistic Director] is the founding Artistic Director of Island City Stage where he has directed From White Plains, Buyer and Cellar, The Radicalization of Rolfe, Zanna, Don’t!, Hir, the world premiere of Stuart Meltzer’s The Goldberg Variations which won the Carbonell Award for Best New Work. He was nominated for Best Director for the world premiere of Michael McKeever’s Daniel’s Husband which won the Carbonell for Best Production of a Play and was recently presented Off Broadway. In addition, he recently directed the premiere of Dan Clancy’s At Home at West Boca Theater Company which has been nominated for the Carbonell for Best New Play. Other credits include Same Time, Next Year and The Most Happy Fella for Broward Stage Door, Steve Solomon’s My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish and I’m in Therapy

PATRICK RICHWOOD [Director] directed the enormously successful national tour of Dixie’s Tupperware Party and is thrilled to be working with the sassiest redhead below the Mason-Dixon line once again! As an actor he has performed on a great many stages across this country himself, but he’s best known for his work on screen. He has created roles in 23 films including The Princess Diaries, Dear God, Beaches, The Race to Space, Runaway Bride, Streets, Armageddon, The Other Sister, Soul Surfer and Pretty Woman. Many thanks to Kris Andersson and Island City Stage for this fantastic opportunity to spread a little Happy!
