ACADEMIC INTEGRITY At Griffith, student academic integrity means a lot. For example, acting with honesty, trust, fairness, respect and responsibility is important in all your learning activities.

COURSE NOTES 1

The Academic Integrity Student Tutorial is an online tutorial to help you understand more about academic integrity, why it’s important, the types of academic misconduct and the University’s policies. It’s important to acknowledge the author or creator of source materials. Referencing is important to help the reader of your work understand the materials you’ve used to support your ideas.

If you have questions about academic integrity, speak with your Tutor, view the resources on your Learning@Griffith course site or visit the Library website.

STUDY SKILLS The library’s study smart site has a stack of helpful resources to help you do well. You’ll find tips for assignments, referencing and exam preparation.

Manage your time • Get the big picture sorted—how you block time on a yearly planner will be based on your personality, goals, workload, and family • Create a schedule—it helps make sure you still have time for fun • Plan your day—write a to-do list then cross things off—so satisfying

Make good notes

COURSE NOTES 2

• Use techniques—draw attention to main points, examples, and words to look up • Review your notes—make sure they help recall key points and build on your knowledge • Make it visual—use concept maps, tables, and timelines

Read effectively • Read smarter, not faster—scan, skim and get the gist before a detailed read • Read with purpose—read text differently depending upon why you are reading

Prep for exams • Plan ahead—use Griffith’s weekly study planner • Check your requirements—get what you need for exam day griffith.edu.au/library/study/study-skills We also offer study support mentors who operate out of the Gold Coast and Nathan libraries, and online. griffith.edu.au/student-mentoring/mentoringprograms/study-support

To help me get there, each day I will spend 2 minutes thinking about these things:

COURSE NOTES 3

Start of the day

End of the day

What’s more important today than anything?

What did I learn?

What will I do today that is just for me?

What would make tomorrow awesome?

Who will I send love to today? Who needs to get your good vibes?

What wins did I have? Big, small, or in between, they are all important.

What am I grateful for today?

What ideas do I have? Write these throughout the day.

Anything else?
