Methods There are multiple ways to transfer your information from your old iPhone to your new iPhone. In this guide we will review and walk through the 3 easiest ways that are provided by Apple. These are the 3 methods we will use: 1. Quick Start Wireless Transfer 2. iCloud Backup/Restore 3. Using a Computer to Backup/Restore

Using - Quick Start What is it? How does it work? 1. Quick start allows you to set up a new iOS device by using your previous device to start the transfer. 2. Wirelessly migrates data between devices. (must have iOS 12.4 or later) 3. Uses your Apple ID and Password (must have these) Back

Getting Started 1. You will need both devices. 2. Verify both are on software version iOS 11 or higher. (explained on next page)

3. Both devices will be in use so pick a convenient time. 4. Make sure device have plenty of charge or you have a charger nearby. Next

Using - Quick Start Step 1 ● ● ●



Turn on Bluetooth and WiFi on existing device if not already on. Turn on new device and place it near existing device. Quick Start screen will pop up on your existing device giving you the option of setting up your new device using your Apple ID - select “Continue” Your old device will not look as if it is trying to take a picture. - Goto Next Step

Using - Quick Start Step 2 ●



On your NEW device you should see an animation start, it will look similar to a lot of dots swirling around. Hold the old device over the NEW one so you can see the animation in the viewfinder, should get a message that says Finish on New Device.

(Note: if unable to use viewfinder you can select Authenticate Manually and follow steps) Back

Step 3 ●



When prompted you will need to enter the passcode or screen lock code for your old device on the NEW device. Continue with prompts to setup items like Face ID or Touch if it asks or you may skip them.

Using - Quick Start Step 4 ●



Tap the Transfer from iPhone selection (shown to the right) to start the transfer from your old phone to new. If/When prompted, select if you would like to transfer settings for items like Apple Pay and Siri along with your Apple ID password. (Note: if you have an Apple Watch connected to old device you will be asked if you would like to transfer settings to new device also)

Keep devices near each other and and plugged into chargers if needed. Allow transfer to continue and check periodically for progress. Time take to transfer can take from only a few minutes to multiple hours depending on amount of data being transferred.

Step 6 ●



Once transfer is complete check the new device to ensure that all of your data has moved over. Once you are sure that all of your data has been moved it is recommended that you delete the device if you are planning on selling or giving away. Next
