Message from the Director Good afternoon ISC, On Monday the government announced new COVID measures effective as of December 1. Measures for schools have not changed. We are doing our best to make it through the last couple weeks without an active case on campus so we can all start the holiday break with some assurance. Please read the brief note on page two regarding some minor steps we will take to reduce potential person-to -person contact on campus starting Wednesday, December 9th. Stay safe, Douglas Vaughan Director

Contact Reduction Plan: December 9-18 In conjuction with regularly scheduled mid-term exams for high school students, the school will wrap up the last days of school while reducing potential person-to-person contact on campus. Mid-term exams for high school students begin Wednesday, December 9 and run through the last day of school on the 18th. As usual, high school students do not have regular classes at this time and only report to school for their scheduled exams. To reduce the number of people on campus, high school teachers are allowed to report to campus only at the time of their respective exams. Outside of their schedules, they will be allowed to work from home. Additionally, all elementary and middle school teachers will be allowed to leave campus after the 2 o’clock dismissal once all of their students are picked up. Be advised: NO AFTERSCHOOL ACTIVIES FOR STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED STARTING DECEMBER 9, INCLUDING STAYING AFTER IN THE LIBRARY. Offices will remain open for normal hours and close at 3:30.

Thank you for your attention!

Ronald McDonald House Campaign Announcement To the parents and guardians of the students at International School of Curaçao: Ronald McDonald House Charity Curaçao (RMHC) is entirely dedicated to support the Foundation’s mission, which is, creating, finding and supporting programs that help the wellbeing of children and their families. RMHC Curaçao Foundations program also includes the Ronald McDonald Family Room (RMFR) at the newly built Curaçao Medical Center (CMC). Since 2012, when started, the Foundation was able to bring almost 13,500 families together during difficult times while their children were undergoing treatment and thus able to stay close by and serving as a home -away-from-home. Once more, we are approaching ISC for our “Heartfelt thanks” campaign. During this campaign RMHC wants to touch the warm heart of the Curaçao community who contributes and also to make children aware of the support they can show to a roommate or to a friend while he or she is sick. How does this work?

This year it will be run a bit differently than years past. Rather than each student receiving 10 hearts to sell, we are instead accepting family donations. For each family donation of 10 guilders, families will receive a participation certificate. Of course, any donation is accepted. ISC’s National Junior Honor Society members will be present at arrival of school from November 30th until December 11th. Donations will be received and noted. We like to thank you in advance, for your assistance, cooperation and support. Sincerely, RMHC

Last week we honored yet another holiday, Thanksgiving. We all took time to reflect on everything we're grateful for including being on campus, being healthy, for our family, friends and much more. It was nice seeing students dressed up, enjoying their lunch as well as the apple pie provided by PTA. The lunch tables were also dressed with fall themed tablecloths and students were able to choose if they wanted to take a picture on this day. If they did, you should have already received an email from the IT department. In all, a great day to start the long weekend. This Friday, we'll be virtually honoring Sinterklaas which again goes to prove that sometimes, all you need is to not be afraid of making mistakes and try something a little bit different. Stay safe and healthy! First Grade Thanksgiving performance: “Super Turkey” Click on photo here
