Building our community It’s that time of year, Summer Blitz is here!
To jump-start the summer blitz, team members toured 5 project sites nearing completion! Banneker High School, Capitol Hill Montessori at Logan, KIPP DC Benning Road Campus, KIPP DC Ferebee Hope, and National Presbyterian Church will all be wrapping up at the end of the Summer. Turn to page two to check out the extraordinary progress on these projects!

NEW PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY OFFICE The new MCN Mid-Atlantic office is complete!
Marcela Zambrana Human Resources Manager Marcela has been with MCN for two years as Human Resources Manager and has grown significantly since joining the team! She oversees employee matters, compensation, and benefits, rewards, professional growth, communications, and performance management while serving as a link between MCN’s management and employees. When asked about Marcela, MCN’s HR team says, “Marcela’s heart for people and experience interfacing with employees at all levels made her the perfect candidate for MCN’s HR leader opportunity. Her expertise in navigating the ever-changing landscape of HR compliance, benefits, and employee relations has grown along with the firm. We are excited to see her continue to evolve while remaining solution-minded to exceed every employee’s expectation of what right looks like in a people manager.” Outside of MCN, helping others, especially kids, is something vital for Marcela. Every year she chooses an organization to provide a monthly donation to. This year Marcela is generously donating to the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to support the children in Syria, Africa, and South America.
We have another group of accomplished and engaging summer interns joining the MCN team! We held a virtual orientation at the end of May where the interns were introduced to the ins and outs of MCN. We are thrilled and can’t wait to see how they rise to the challenge over the next 10 weeks!

Community COLLEGE TRACK THANKS MCN
The students of College Track, a comprehensive completion program that equips students confronting systemic barriers to earn a bachelor’s degree in pursuit of better opportunities created a video thanking MCN for our support of their organization. Check out the video here!
LUBBER RUN MAGAZINE FEATURE
Projects In Progress Take a look at the latest progress at KIPP DC’s Benning Road Campus and KIPP DC’s Ferebee Hope High School and Recreation Center! KIPP Benning Road Campus features a 30,000 SF addition comprising a two-level underground parking garage and three levels of classrooms and office spaces. KIPP Ferebee Hope is a state-of-the-art high school and recreation center. This new 10-acre project will replace the existing complex with a modern recreation center, an indoor pool, and improved outdoor spaces. Both projects are seeking LEED Gold Certifications.
Houston Elementary School Highlighted DC Department of General Services highlighted Capital Construction Division’s completion of the FIRST DCPS Dual Language program, Houston ES! Phase I began with the interior renovation of the existing structure, including state-of-the-art classrooms and an enlarged library and multimedia center. Phase II concluded the project with a massive addition on the south wing of the site. Totaling over 82,457sf, this expansion provides adequate room for a multi-purpose cafeteria/ gymnasium, health and administration suites, additional classrooms, and the only elementary school in the District with a greenhouse. In the heart of Deanwood, the school educates approximately 411 students at maximum capacity.
