GOOD NEWS! You will be pleased to hear that Mr Daniels is no longer leaving Sacred Heart. Our Governors met on Wednesday to discuss Mr Daniels resignation. Mr Daniels had informed the Governors that due to the Governing body of St Michael’s and Mr Daniels not being able to agree the terms and conditions of employment he had decided to decline their offer of employment. The Governors agreed with Mr Daniels’ decision and after some discussion reinstated Mr Daniels as head of Sacred Heart.

He was a soldier in the army of the Roman Emperor Diocletian, and he was one of the Emperor's favourite soldiers. Now Diocletian was a bitter enemy of the Christians. He put to death every Christian he could find. George was a brave Christian, a real soldier of Christ. Without fear, he went to the Emperor and sternly scolded him for being so cruel. Then he gave up his position in the Roman army. For this he was tortured in many terrible ways and finally beheaded. We all have some "dragon" we have to conquer. It might be pride, or anger, or laziness, or greediness, or something else. Let us make sure we fight against these "dragons", with God's help.

Council Coverage This week your school council met and discussed: The attendance trip. We asked when it is happening and where are we going? Mrs Edwards told us the trip will take place in the middle of May, when we hope the weather will be a little better. We will be going to Otterspool Park. FS and KS1 will go together and the next day KS2 will go. KS2 will be visiting a maze, this is a little too old for FS and KS1 so they will be getting an ice cream in the park instead. Punctuality: The whole school attendance competition has changed for the summer term. You can now earn points for being in school on time. This is a chance for everyone to catch up or even beat Year 4/5. Are you ‘up for’ the challenge. Nettles: The clean team are coming into school today to see if they can help us sort out the nettle problem on the playground. Please remember if you have any ideas or concerns speak to a councillor, Council surgery will be in the P.E. hall on Tuesday.
