The Country Fair and the Ritz Sauna are an important part of my family’s life.

I hope you will find your way to the Country Fair and the Ritz Sauna this summer.

I have been working and spending time at the sauna since I was three years old.

The sauna is something I share with my family. As you walk up to the sauna you will see the totem painted with the symbol of my dad’s clan, the snake, and my mom’s clan, the beaver.

I am glad I got to share this legend with you.

It is also painted with the symbol of my clan, the otter.

Rejuvenated, the Flamingo Clan is ready to leave the sauna and go out into the world for another year.

In this way the spirits of the Flamingo Clan are set right once again.

The last symbol on the totem is the killer whale, signifying selectivity. Only the chosen may enter the sauna.

And they enjoy the sauna together.

You are welcome here.

Even though I have been coming to the sauna since I was three, I didn’t learn the legend of the sauna until I was fourteen. I want to share that legend with you.

They also work together.

As the legend goes, all was right in the world. The spirits were at peace and were in their natural order, moving in the clockwise direction.

But each summer the Flamingo Clan returns to the sauna to live together.

One day, however, the Cannibal Spirit became angry. He was so angry that he blew and blew so hard that he disrupted the natural order of the Earth. All that had once been in the clockwise direction went in the counterclockwise direction and the spirits were blown away from the Earth.

During the year those who love the sauna, known as the Flamingo Clan, go out into the world where sometimes their spirits become lost or confused.

In this way, the sauna is also a spirit catcher.

The spirits were lost and confused and all was not right in the world. With the big spirit catcher the Sun was able to bring the spirits back to the Earth and return them to their natural clockwise order. Once again, all was right in the world.

But the spirits were too lost for the small spirit catcher so the Sun made a much bigger one.

The Sun looked down upon the Earth and was upset by what he saw. The Sun decided that in order to help he must make a spirit catcher to bring the spirits back to the Earth.
