INTRODUCTION SlideShare is a Web 2.0 based slide hosting service. Users can upload files privately or publicly in the following file formats: PowerPoint, PDF, Keynote or OpenDocument presentations. Slide decks can then be viewed on the site itself, on hand held devices or embedded on other sites. Launched on October 4, 2006, the website is considered to be similar to YouTube, but for slideshows. The website was originally meant to be used for businesses to share slides among employees more easily, but it has since expanded to also become a host of a large number of slides that are uploaded merely to entertain. Although the website is primarily a slide hosting service, it also supports documents, PDFs, videos and webinars. SlideShare also provides users the ability to rate, comment on, and share the uploaded content. The current list of SlideShare's investors includes Venrock, David Siminoff and Dev Khare. The slideshare achievement is On May 3, 2012, SlideShare announced that it was to be acquired by LinkedIn. It is reported that the deal was $118.75 Million. In December 2013, SlideShare revamped its site offering more of a visual spin on the homepage, including larger images. This make the slideshare be more successful media . Founding team is Rashmi Sinha, the CEO and co-founder of SlideShare is responsible for partnerships and product strategy. She was named amongst the world's Top 10 Women Influencers in Web 2.0 by FastCompany. Jonathan Boutelle is the CTO of SlideShare and came up with the initial idea behind SlideShare. He wrote the first version of the site. Amit Ranjan, the COO heads SlideShare's development team in India and focuses on product management, content and community. The website gets an estimated 58 million unique visitors a month, and has about 16 million registered users. SlideShare was voted among the World's Top 10 tools for education & e-learning in 2010. SlideShare's biggest competitors include Scribd.com, Issuu and Docstoc. Some of the notable users of SlideShare include The White House, NASA, World Economic Forum, State of Utah, O'Reilly Media, Hewlett Packard and IBM.

If you chooose to keep your y presenntation as puublic, click “Public”. Choose C peopple who can view yo our materials by sharin ng them youur password d of the mateerials or onlly you can view yo our materials. If you want w users too download your materials, choosee “Yes”, if not, choo ose “No”.

Insert any link l of videoos that you want at the “Enter Vid deo URL” box, for exam mple, you can gett the link froom YouTubbe. Then, seelect “Placem ment” for choosing its placement, whether onn the secondd slide or thiird slide or other slidess. If you wissh to t on the ssmall add anotherr video, clicck the “Addd another viddeo” buttonn. You can tick boxes on thhe bottom too remove viideos. Clickk “Insert & Publish” P on nce you havee finished it. Now, you can c view yoour presentaations with videos v in it.

THE ADVANTAGES USING SLIDESHARE.
1. FOR EDUCATORS a) Uploading presentation. The educators and students can start uploading the presentation slide and others documents within the hour. There are two types of SlideShare which is note-taking purpose and educational power point that can be used in classroom. There are many other types of slide show such as historical, animated, informative and factual. For educators, they must be bored doing the same thing for their presentations, so SlideShare helps them to provide a new looks to their slides. The educators can use SlideShare during lessons in class. The educators can easily upload and share the presentation on SlideShare for reference for the students. b) Share video, audio and photos. The video, audio and photos are the additional things that make the slide more enjoyable and fun to read especially for students. Without photos and videos, they feel bored reading all the texts. So, the educators can add the video, audio and some photos in the slide. We can easily download the video from YouTube. The photos help the readers see clearly what the contents are all about. c) Can handle large files (anything less than 100md) The educators usually want the website that can handle large files. So, they can save and store their document in there. SlideShare is one of the examples that can help the educators save the materials for teaching in their class in there. It is easier for them to prepare anything that they want to deliver when they are teaching. They are also able to retrieve the slide again if they want to.
