The 20th Annual MSU Pow Wow will take place on April 27, 2013. Pow wow derives from the Narragansett word powwaw, meaning "spiritual leader". It will begin at noon in the New Physical Education Building (NPE) and end at midnight. This year’s Pow wow will feature a dance competition which is open to toddlers, teens, men and women. Nick Sixkiller is the MC for the event, Tony White head is the Whip man and the Little River Drummers is the Host Drum Other activities include a variety of vendors in the gym and multipurpose hall, a dinner and drummers. This event is entirely FREE and is always an opportunity to acknowledge and honor Native American culture.
Become a Multicultural Representative (MCR)!!! The Multicultural Representatives (MCRs) are a group of students strongly committed to assisting Western Oregon University’s Multicultural Student Services and Programs (MSSP) Office retain ethnic and culturally diverse students. As an MCR, you will provide mentoring, support and guidance to new students from first generation, low income and underrepresented backgrounds.

Nuestra Fiesta Latina Nuestra Fiesta Latina Hosted by MSU aims at provide attendees an opportunity to learn, celebrate and experience the Latino culture. It also strives to bring together individuals from our local community and our campus community to celebrate and experience the Latino culture. This year’s celebration will take place on May 17, 2013 and will feature activities for all ages, entertainment such as mariachi music, salsa and merengue dancing, traditional food and a "baile to end the day. Women of Culture Celebration
Other activities included: a wall of beauty, a film showing of “Killing US Softly”, a simulated walk through a cultural tunnel of awareness, a fashion show and a service project serving Seniors at Heron Pointe assisted living and retirement home.
The Women of culture celebration, an event aimed at honoring and highlighting the contributions of women of diverse backgrounds, took place during the week of March 4th—7th. The theme of the event this year was “because I am beautiful…”
ON-TRACK at The On -Track program aims to provide culturally diverse students from historically underserved populations a support program to assist in ensuring academic and personal success at WOU.

Some activities the week of included a workshop “Beauty in the eyes of the beholder” facilitated by the ladies of Kappa Delta Chi, Inc.
