“The design response reflects special sensitivity to adjacent structures in the town’s historical district. Inspired by richly detailed exteriors of boulevard homes, the station’s classic look is complemented by a two story replica hose tower serving as a focal point, fully functioning fire pole and refurbished antique siren.”

The size of a structure doesn’t necessarily dictate its impact, as good design can create a dynamic architectural statement that overcomes restraints.
“It is remarkable that this project is able to achieve an atmosphere using only two materials. In different forms, these materials are able to create an entire range of impact to the fact that it is able to engage all the senses.”
